Dragon Age III / The Witcher 3 trailers. Impressions?
BruceVC replied to Rahelron's topic in Computer and Console
Yeah, especially since I, a self-professed fan of Bioware and its games, depend on all these people with "no interest in Bioware", who are "never ever going to buy one of their games again" on receiving all my Bioware news in a timely fashion. Very insightful comments my friend, very insightful. And we both know all these "Bioware bashers" will be playing DA3 when it gets released -
Were we ever at reasoned politics? Tribalism has always ruled the human mind, centuries of technological progress and cultural development did not change that. Yes politics is reasonable, don't mistake systemic problems with a failure of the whole system

Dude whatever you are smoking I want some, it sounds great

Logically, it cannot be. You, or any individual voter, have effectively no responsibility because you have effectively no influence. 1 vote in 60 million for you, 1 in 300 million for an american, 1 in 4 million for me. But people buy into the notion that they have influence over elections because collectively we do and politicians play to that, people like to feel important and involved, and for the health of the system itself it is important for people to feel engaged rather than apathetic. It's human nature again, really. You've a Westminster avatar, Zor. So I'm assuming you know a bit about Parliament. You recall that in the UK we vote for specific members of Parliament? Over here, what matters is the swing in a particular seat. That swing is rarely more than a few thousand. Sometimes its only treble figures. The small scale and directness of our system is what I love about it most, even if it does enable Galloways to arse about. Galloway, another person that annoys me. But he is very humorous Did you ever watch when he had to go in front of that USA congressional hearing. He gave it to them as only he can. He didn't seem intimidated at all

Yes Fringe is excellent, I have watched all seasons. I assumed this was a common and popular TV series that everyone had watched? I loved it from start to finish but apparently it's popularity was waning towards the end which is why the last series and the whole invasion plotline was rushed. I heard some theory that people started watching it on Hulu more than on television because it clashed with other popular shows (which has apparently killed a couple of really good shows now ike Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles) because of loss of advertisement revenue or something. Yeah the last season was great " The Observers " I liked the way they used previous fringe science experiments to fight them

You son is really cute, do you pull his cheeks? I grew up in a family of massive cheek pulling. And all my younger siblings had chubby cheeks when they were your sons age so having your cheeks pulled was common

But Drowsy its irrelevant if the majority of the Iranians want to get nuclear technology( and I question if this is what the average Iranian actually wants considering all the issues around it) Nuclear technologies become a global issue and we live in a global world. The global community doesn't want Iran to go this route so its not going to happen. You need to accept this to avoid major disappointment later

I just finished Alan Wake American Nightmare, it was okay but I don't recommend it. It took me 5 hours to complete and you had repeat the same level 3 times. The game positions this repetition as part of the plot but I think this was more to do with budgetary constraints and laziness on the part of the developers Okay I need some input on my next game, Bioshock 1 or Darksiders 1? I haven't played either franchise so any views would be appreciated

It sounds like you actually want Iran to continue to enrich Uranium, irrespective of the outcome? Don't you care about the inexorable consequences that will befall the Iranian people if they continue to go this unnecessary route. You do realize that almost no country in the world wants Iran to get Nuclear technology including Russia, China and almost all the members of the Arab League?

You've raised a good point but I suppose we don't know how many creatures or how powerful the creatures from the fade will be? There will more than likely be new "fade races" -
Do they have a coffee maker ? Here we are told to be glad we have a water cooler. They have several, they even have a nespresso machine which makes uniquely flavoured coffee like caramel. But I prefer Tea personally http://www.nespresso.com/#/za/en/coffee_machines/selecteur_gamme

Translation: You will grind your way through five enemy models with different names in very similar caves, but if that's a bit TL;DR you can just hit the 'forward to badly rendered sex-scene' with your pan-sexual LI, which now includes an inanimate object for our fans who wish to experience love with a vase or a sack of rocks. If this wasn't enough your Inquisitor will hop aboard what we are calling the 'mine-cart of exposition' which is a series of cut-scenes that allows you to be splashed with the orgasmic ectoplasm of Dave Gaider's Joss Wheedon fantasy! All this plus EXCLAMATION MARK DLC! * squeegasm * I may not agree with most of what you say but you do make me laugh "which now includes an inanimate object for our fans who wish to experience love with a vase or a sack of rocks" love with a vase or a sack of rocks...classic -

http://blog.bioware.com/2013/06/15/bioware-gm-aaryn-flynn-reflects-on-e3-2013/ Guys a little information about DA3, so it seems like its an invasion from the Fade -
"'To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women" That would have been hilarious just to see there response

My favourite is "intellectually dishonest". If you want to call someone a liar, just say so. Being intellectually dishonest is not the same thing as lying. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intellectual_honesty Obviously citation is a pipe dream (and probably shouldn't be necessary anyway) on a casual internet forum, but it's not lying to present things in a biased way (not factoring in that sometimes it's born out of ignorance). Alan now that I read that definition I'm not sure if it is different to lying. The link you provided says "Intentionally committed fallacies in debates and reasoning are called sometimes intellectual dishonesty" That could also be called a lie as I could lying about a topic in a debate knowing its untrue? I don't see the difference if you look at the definition

I had a really good interview today at a specialized software consultancy company, I am very happy where I work but this other company has more vision and long term strategy and the overall financial incentives are way better. They asked me some questions that I have never really been asked before. One of them was "what happens when you have a really bad day and you get into a bad mood, what do you do?". I was stumped as I very seldom get into persistent bad moods so they put me on the spot Anyway they will be making the offer this week so its all very exciting

The brutal human rights abuses the Kurdish people suffer in Turkey don't count then? Why doesn't the rest of NATO intervene to free the Kurds from Turkish oppression? The situation around the Kurds in Turkey is complicated and its not as clear as the atrocities that Assad has committed against his own people
-
What's your position on nuclear proliferation then? Seems hypocritical not to allow Iran to have a nuclear program when Israel has one. Same applies to North Korea naturally. Nope Iran cannot be allowed to get Nuclear weapons, they have been proven to make far too many extreme foreign policy decisions and are major supporters of known terrorist groups like Hezbollah. If they somehow did get Nuclear weapons this would destabilize the region and this cannot be allowed to happen Sorry Drowsy but even though I may not agree with everything Israel does they are a much more stable and easily understood country than Iran. So you shouldn't ask the question " but why can't Iran get Nuclear weapons if Israel has them?" Its two different scenario's.

Care to elaborate? Sure, Turkey is considered a secular and democratic Muslim country. It was been trying to join the EU since 2005. These are some of the reasons Western companies consider Turkey a good place to invest in and also its a bridge into the region. Its easy to do business in Turkey. Turkey and the USA have shared information on the PKK as Turkey considers them a terrorist organization. Turkey was one of the first countries to condemn the brutal clampdown of Assad on people wanting political change in Syria. They have personally had to take in hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugee's which is an expensive initiative. NATO has deployed Patriot missiles on the Turkish\Syrian border to assist Turkey if Syria decided to fire its own missiles into Turkey. NATO wouldn't do this if they didn't consider Turkey an ally I am not saying that Erdogan is handling the current protests in the most diplomatic and sensitive way but Turkey needs to be given time to address this internal strife. And unless he starts a brutal campaign against his own people like Assad I still consider Turkey an important friend of the West in the region

There's an english language source for the suicides (and bad conditions) at least. If there were something on resignations from him it would probably be in Turkish and require translation. Not everything is a conspiracy theory with the West operating in the background surreptitiously acting only when it directly serves its own self-interests. The West correctly considers Turkey an ally and friend and won't just intervene in any domestic issue.
