  1. Okay I found some more links supporting my view, the second link you should find interesting. There are many more I can post but I think I've made my point http://voices.yahoo.com/why-men-rape-psychological-versus-sociological-3179564.html http://udayms.wordpress.com/2008/10/10/why-men-rape/ http://www.pbs.org/kued/nosafeplace/articles/rapefeat.html
  2. Please provide links or studies that show how rape is not about power but sex and I'll discuss this with you. It should be a good debate
  3. So you're saying I should keep having meaningless relations with women, but as I start becoming emotionally distant, use humor to deflect the ever encroaching loneliness .. then hope for a women that will one day burst through my shell of Adonis like good looks and see the real me underneath? And of course all would be well if we stopped there, but in actuality the relationship is doomed because we are both so horribly emotionally scarred, self centered and thoroughly addicted to messing our lives up.. so we never have to face the ever growing disappointment with reality, each other and especially ourselves.. I just now realize I've seen too many romantic comedies. At least you understand the ultimate hopelessness of the reality that you live in. And here I thought I was going to have to explain it in some way
  4. Yes a small percentage of rapes would be just about the sex. You should read the links I provided earlier in this thread, there are several reasons for rape and almost all of them are not about sex but around the power over women.
  5. I tend to agree with Chair on this one. I don't believe in this mysterious force called evil that influences us . I believe people make depraved and abhorrent decisions for a number of reasons but they make these decisions themselves. And mental stability is a huge contributing factor when we ask "how can a person do that to another person ", like the example in this thread and what the paedophile wanted to do.
  6. Does it matter if it's better then other bad game, but it's still overall bad? That statement is difficult to answer because its subjective. I would say DA2 was a good game, not fantastic but entertaining But if you didn't enjoy it you would say its a bad game. So it matters if you think that 85 % of all games are bad because then you aren't raising the bar in any respects and you are just adding to the list of bad games, who wants to know about that? However if you think that 85 % are good and so is DA2 then your view does matter as you would be endorsing it for someone else?
  7. Then you got your answer. It's not like a lifteime of experiences of observations can be explained easily. But I do admitt I worded by forst post incorrectly. I said earieler that simplistic explanations sound wrong to me. So saying "rape is about power" is simplistic...well, it is. But to a point so is "rape is about sex". It's about both...and more. Good luck trying to prove morality Once again Trashman I don't think you actually understand the statement " rape is about power and not about sex" There is nothing simplistic about that comment and if you had read the links I made or any of the studies that are easy to reference you would get it. But since this thread and your comments is more for your entertainment you should just carry not understanding something that most do understand. Good luck
  8. This success will likely mean bloated AAA budgets will soar even higher, thus speeding up the impending AAA game model collapse. I say let it collapse. Geez Keyrock you don't seem your normal cheerful self, whats wrong?
  9. Really good news, well done Rockstar !!!!
  10. I heard that as well, I wonder if anyone can comment?
  11. Bioware made a substantial investment in SWTOR and we know how that worked out Melk stop being naughty or I'll put you over my knee and give you a good spanking !!!!!
  12. Come now boys lets try to see the big picture. Rockstar has spent more money than any other company to create GTA V, but obviously its not just the money they spent that demands we purchase GTA V. Its the fact the game has received some amazing reviews and looks incredible. Everyone is saying how good the game is. So why not support there substantial financial investment in the gaming genre? If the game is a huge success, which I am confident it will be, it means other companies will consider the same type of investment in there next game( if they can afford it). This bodes well for the future of gaming, its the big picture boys...the big picture
  13. Then you realised there are better things to do with your time
  14. Have played gta3 as a kid, after that nothing, just not in to it. Don't get the hype at all. But GTA V looks revolutionary and there is a MMO element that will be released soon. Also this game has been the most expensive single player game ever to produce , $270 million to make this beauty. We need to support Rockstar in there endeavors to make gaming reach new heights http://www.dashhacks.com/ps3/ps3-rumors/gta-v-smashes-production-cost-records.html
  15. I have to be honest but I don't know anyone else who seems to suffer from such sleep inconsistencies as you Raithe After a decade of it, you get used to sleep patterns going all over the place. Well, maybe not used to it, but start establishing patterns to get things done when you're meant to be awake... sort of. Interesting, would you say its some sort of sleep disorder? Have you been to a doctor?
  16. I have to be honest but I don't know anyone else who seems to suffer from such sleep inconsistencies as you Raithe
  17. You make me laugh
  18. Nah. There are probably some people in Siberia that have never played a GTA game also. Yes I'm sure there are also some people on the moon who have never played a GTA game before
  19. Have you tried using it as a liquid base for rice? That flavor seems ideal for that. Wow, good idea. And I was just asking ways to spice up my rice
  20. Good tip
  21. Its interesting actually, she is obviously feeling guilty about what she did and this is some sort of attempt to reach out to you. Its a tough one around how you respond but I would understand if you didn't respond or you were very terse in what you said to her Good luck either way
  22. Tonight I'm having Smoked Kassler Chops with a nice green crunchy salad
  23. This, after work. Conformity effects are fascinating. I haven't liked a GTA since III. I have absolutely 0 intellectual interest in GTA V. In fact, I need some sort of gimmick to be willing to glance at sandbox car theft titles. But with everyone talking about GTA V, I am for some bizarre reason considering picking it up after work... I think you need to stand by your principles and not play GTA V Think about your integrity and what people will think if they found out that you played GTA V after all the comments you made about not playing it, I'll keep you updated around what I do in the game and all the fun experiences I have
  24. Wow that review sounds amazing, I knew Rockstar wouldn't disappoint. I can't wait till this game is released on PC !!!
  25. It might do you some good to return to this stage rather than remaining in your current state of regression.... If contrary articles exist, then those can be debated and so forth as well. On the plus side, if they are very common, it should be trivial to find them! The question then becomes "why are you convinced you are right? - Stating that you're skeptical is fine. Though most people fail to realize that skeptic is open to the idea that he or she may be wrong, and hence misuse the word. - If stating your opinion is all you care to do, then that's fine. But it goes back to "why do you have that opinion?" If you can't be bothered to defend it, then rebuttals and refutations of your opinion wouldn't bother you, and you wouldn't feel compelled to speak up in the light of said challenges - If you don't care that your opinion is under attack, then see previous point - If you don't think that your position needs any defense, then you're certainly not a skeptic, you're possibly arrogant, and you're certainly misguided with an unwavering confidence that is proportional to the level of dispute that the topic has. It's one thing to decide that you don't need to substantiate Newton's Laws, but it's another if you simply conclude that, for example, capital punishment is the only acceptable response to capital crimes. @ Trashman Alan is his usual articulate manner has made some excellent points. I hope you take the time to read and understand them.
