  1. So BlackLivesMatter should be WhitePeopleareRacist instead? Either you care that cops are killing people; black people in particular, because otherwise if you're just bothered when its a white guy then you're a racist. I don't think the other incidents are irrefutable incidents of police brutality and cops using deadly force for no reason, there were extenuating circumstances . I made this clear in the various discussions we had. This is different, the guy is unarmed and gets out the car with his hands up and he gets shot..very different story don't you think ?
  2. Guys this is a MUST pledge effort Here is the website for those interested http://www.othersideentertainment.com/
  3. I am and was a huge fan of LOST, I was satisfied with the final season. I think they answered most of the important questions that we were asking during the seasons, like "what was the purpose of the island " And I agree, you can't create another season...it would seem a little pointless ?
  4. What really annoys me about the article is where he says "I love gaming, but slowly and surely, gaming has stopped loving me. The industry I grew up with has slowly eroded, leaving a wasteland of bitterness spewed by those society left behind as companies once driven by inclusiveness and innovation now peddle anger. Gaming is my "Old Yeller," but where Travis could mercifully lay to rest his beloved companion, I have no idea how we are going to fix this. Instead, I watch in horror as the thing I love writhes and squirms, becoming a twisted, pained, unrecognizable creature. And as I look around, I realize this toxin is keeping its bitter users going, trying to hold back the natural progress of society" He makes it out like GG is somehow destroying the entire gaming industry...wow...what a drama queen He can just ignore GG and stop feeding the hyperbole, no need to turn it into " end of the world and all things we know " discussion
  5. Yeah it appears to be pretty damning evidence against the police in this example...not like the other cases like Michael Brown The only positive consideration is that it was a black cop shooting a black person so there shouldn't be race riots as this shouldn't be seen in racial light ?
  6. I definitely don't begrudge people who have faith, I have an issue when that faith leads to a person suffering in this world because of the belief in that faith. Like Manifested's mom and g-mom. Why can't she get married again and have company? Why can't his gran know the truth about her condition? I battle to see how these are examples when faith is good in the real world because to me this seems be about suffering and misery?
  7. Sorry Malc, I was just joking with Zora...hence the . Of course I respect the right of people to comment in the GG thread...I comment there myself. I see everyone is a little serious today.....amazing how we get mass killings in Nigeria, brutal beheadings by ISIS, Russian troops crossing into Ukraine and that barely gets an emotional reaction. But the Pretty Women thread gets closed down and suddenly no one has a sense of humour
  8. Ouch...Malc ...that hurts...I would almost be offended if I really cared
  9. utterly unconstructive and wastes everyone's time) Now you know how many of us feel about the GG thread, welcome to our world
  10. It might be an irrational fear of overmoderation, what with what its going on on the web right now. The fact is that it wasn't technically against the rules otherwise it wouldn't have had enough thread titles to go through the entire Star Wars saga and Pretty woman and post where moderated on a case basis. So it has to be questioned, why now and why over complaints? Is complaining now enough to get stuff banned, or is this just a preventive measure to avoid moralist rage? So I guess that I would feel more comfortable with the decision if I knew what the actual cause of it is an not a vague response. Not sure why you are still confused Orog? The thread was closed because of the photo's of scantily dressed women....not that hard to understand if we are honest with ourselves wouldn't you say?
  11. Ouch....sounds painful, its never pleasant when you trying to do the right thing and you get injured
  12. My dad bought a book called " London Pub Walks " http://www.amazon.com/London-Pub-Walks-CAMRAs/dp/1852493100 I have the feeling we will be drinking tomorrow during our long walk....actually I'm concerned that we will be doing more drinking than walking
  13. LOL Obama has done jack **** to bring that about. In fact, his policies have been counter productive: To name just a few: - Under the Obama administration, the time required for a permit [for drilling on federal onshore lands and the Outer Continental Shelf (OCS)] has doubled to 307 days, while in North Dakota, where booming oil shale fracking has effectively wiped out unemployment, permitting currently takes only 10 days. - He tightened regulations against drilling [2012] - During his first term in office, the Obama administration cut by more than half the number of new permits and new leases for offshore oil and gas drilling. - In 2011, the Obama administration approved a grand total of 12 new leases. - In 2010 he instituted a moratorium on drilling in the Eastern GOM until 2022, the Pacific OCS and Northern Atlantic OCS indefinitely, the Southern Atlantic and Northern Alaskan OCS until 2012. The areas closed were estimated to contain over 13 billion barrels of oil and 41 Tcf of natural gas. Obama might be able to claim credit for a number of things but the boost in oil and gas production is NOT one of them. Look you know your stuff Kgambit, I can't argue with you when it comes to the facts about these types of developments So I'll rephrase what I said " during Obamas presidency American became less dependent on foreign oil than it has been in 30 years "
  14. My bad, I see your point. I should have said its the content that was a concern, not the fact its outside of gaming discussions because this whole part of the forum is not about gaming
  15. Yeah thats basically my stance and perspective on the game But I'm also excited for the people who will be jumping in and playing the game from day 1, I like to read the feedback. Thats not the same as people ruining the story. For example I still don't know the plot about DA:I yet enough people liked it to convince me that I will like it
  16. But it is in the OT subforum, so doesn't apply. But you guys are confusing discussions with photos? So if you want to start a thread discussing women in bikinis I don't think that would be an issue....its the photós I think that are the problem?
  17. Sure I agree to a certain agree but we also have to consider the fact that there are people who come to this thread and would be concerned about that thread?
  18. Orog its a gaming forum, not a website for pictures of scantily dressed women? I can understand people complaining
  19. You right Volo I'm 100 % okay with that thread being closed , I very seldom use to frequent that thread anyway. I don't think pictures of women in bikinis objectifies women as I've said in the past but I do understand how it would offend other people with more conservative views. Also I only really care about my threads being closed down. Its a tough hard world Volo, we need to be concerned about our own threads Also its not such a big deal the thread was closed, this way we we can spend more time discussing other things Also there is nothing wrong with an element of political correctness...thats the way the world works
  20. Gfted1 I'm still surprised that no one has commented that even though the Pretty Women Thread is closed down I'm still active, thats got to count for something
  21. My guess would be that with the upcoming release of PoE they are doing some spring cleaning to make this site (PG-13). Though how the rest of the threads in Off-Topic and the Stick of Truth subforum are PG-13 I have no idea. Also I don't think anyone underage will even play PoE. The less fortunate version of events is that some SJW made a complaint and they caved in... Nah if that were the case, the Journalism corruption thread would get axed too. Well done Longknife, glad you not buying into the " SJW are ruining our lives " conspiracy theory
  22. Seriously bro, that's three passive aggressive questions (the first one, unquoted, was genuine enough). That's a cheap technique when Bruce does it and it's a cheap technique here. Take your own advice from the bottom one and just ignore the thread if it offends you or doesn't interest you. If mootykins and 4chan are so very insignificant the thread will be dead in a few days anyway. (meh, 4chan. Usenet OGs know where the original anarchic anything goes pseudo anonymous posting 'boards' were at, and they didn't have some all powerful 'admin' running everything. Until asterisking Google tried subsuming everything into asterisking 'Google Groups') You seem to think making a relevant and important point is "passive aggressive " ...don't be so sensitive. Learn to take constructive criticism in the way its intended...constructively ?
  23. Its okay Sarex, I'm still around. Thats almost as good as the pretty women thread...and I look okay in a speedo
  24. Okay, well I guess we will never fundamentally agree on this one I absolutely believe that under any president or prime minister the state of the economy is one of the real benchmarks to measure if that person did a good job overall Its appears most people here don't see this connection and believe that the president or prime minister makes no difference to the overall state of economic transformation I can cite dozens of examples where, for example, African leaders have come to power and by the end of their leadership the economy of there countries have effectively collapsed or are in a worst state But its fine, no one has to give Obama credit for the state of the USA economy. I'll continue to do it
  25. This training I have been on in the UK is drawing to a close. Its been excellent, I can't stress enough just how good its been For starters its been at the actual software vendors HQ, so we have people who are responsible for writing code and deciding what features to put it attending the courses. Its very rare that I get to interact with people on that level. And they have been very honest about what works and what doesn't and what we would like to see in future releases as partners and resellers. And then I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the various guys who also work for partners throughout Europe and the UK. So I have met guys from Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Denmark, France, Turkey,UK, Belgium and the Middle East. And chatting to them and interacting its very interesting to see how their sales cycles work and what their customers want and what sells in their regions. Because all of us are technical we get on very easily and swop " war stories " about our experiences And we have been spoilt with excellent food..I mean really good food. Last night we had a function with free drinks, lots of free drinks so I imagine there will be many people feeling very tender, I left at 11 pm because I didn't want to be hangover for the last day And after the course today I still have 3 days in London to do some sightseeing which I'm very excited about Oh the weather has been freezing ...I'm obviously not use to this type of cold but I have learnt a few lessons about dressing appropriately so its all good now
