Journalism and Bias in the Gaming Industry
But there is a difference, I know and respect Quinn and what she went through, so yes I would care I don't like or support Anita anymore so I would also stay out of it I don't know TB, I don't think I have ever read one of his links so he has no identity for me?

What context makes it okay to want someone dead whose biggest crime is that people "revile" him on the internet? I mean common, its the internet. Pretty much anyone of note announces they're going to die there's some **** waiting to post anonymously about how glad they are they're dying. But in this case you seem to be saying you're perfectly okay with people wishing death and experiencing glee over same just because they annoyed some electrons in a way that annoyed you. Seems a bit...out of proportion, maybe? Yeah it may seem strange my indifference but it has a valid reason This is not about TB, this is about the level of debate between people like that and other ideologues on GG. You are trying to rationalize a normal response from me but how can I when nothing people like that say matters as its not based on normal thinking So I'm not going to pretend to show shock for something thats not real...its like they tainted and irrational...I'm not going to give them any recognition Saying "I'm glad he's dying" isn't indifference, which you claim capability of. What does the level of debate - or even whether they're ideologues or not - when a person says they're dying, unless you're arguing that you don't think he's dying and he's doing this as some sort of bid for sympathy which still warrants the question of why anyone saying "I'm glad he's dying" is considered good form? But I'm not saying "I'm glad he is dying ", I am saying certain anti-GG people are saying that and I'm not prepared to condemn them because that would mean I believe this type of exchange has relevance Look I can see what you trying to make me see, it does seem like I'm being difficult over what should be a display of reasonable criticism from me. But I really don't get involved at all in GG...so I have no idea of the real background around why they said it ? I don't know TB at all....I know who he is. Of course I personally feel bad for his diagnosis but I am not going to start involving myself or my personal time in this circus again. The majority of people on both sides have no real interest in proper SJ causes and just pay lip service so I spend time elsewhere

Yeah I agree...its like now someone has said something REALLY nasty...but the truth is its all just words and people who are bitter. And TB knows the rules and the reality of his world. This is how it goes Still, to find pleasure in someones inevitable death is a new low, even for a SJW. They prove time and again how disconnected from reality they are. Come now, lets try to have an honest discussion. You guys don't care about what SJ stands for on the Internet , you label it all as SJW as an insult And I'm fine with that because I understand how for years white, male gamers have been the target of a level of criticism that in some cases really was unfair. And how have you guys dealt with it, everyone is a SJW ...its just easier that way instead of having to rationalize the criticism. But where I'm going with this is those guys arent SJW or even SJ interested..they anti-GG which has become its own label I'm someone who cares about SJ issues but in RL not on the Internet

Slight over exaggeration, and slight overestimation of how much thought most people actually put into the internet. You get that sort of thing for sports stars getting injured, people actually dying and all sorts in between; doesn't mean they're Iosef Dugashvili reborn it just means that they're a muppet. The internet warrior of 2015 would soil themselves repeatedly and hide under the bed for days if they got the slightest inkling of actual Civil War Russia. You funny Zora, you know the door to the camp of " Western culture is best " is still open any time for you to join us We don't judge people who have misplaced views of the West, especially when they as bright as you

The same kind of people were the probably assistants for the Commissars during the Red Terror of 1917-1922. Meaning that they were too much of cowards to actually get their hands dirty, but happily distributed the letters that ordered the executions with great glees on their faces and cheered to themselves back home as finally all of Russia could experience the same pain as they felt about their own self-worth. Guys does this type of behavior really bother you? I mean TB is really only a "minor " Internet celebrity who has his supporters but clearly is also seen as a supporter of GG which means he would be reviled. I would also be saying " I am glad he is dying ' if I was a committed anti-GG. Its just words on the Internet...it means nothing especially in this context There is no decorum and decency left in the GG debate, people on both sides have no issue with any kind of vitriol....so I'm not sure why this seems like such a shock? This was one of the main reasons I left this debate, apart from the mistake I made in the beginning with supporting one side automatically, I realized I was wasting time with Internet debates around perceived SJ issues with people who actually didn't really care about SJ issues....

Question to American members
But you have a very strange view of American interventionism....you dont believe the USA should ever intervene in other countries it seems unless the USA is directly threatened ? Thats a little irresponsible I would think So? What does that have to do with anything? Sorry I didn't explain part of my point, I meant to add if the USA followed your view very few people would be annoyed or criticize the USA...it may seem ideal But the world would be a darker place ....a much more benighted and fractured place to live. And there would be much more tension and dictators ruling various regions.

Question to American members
Can I ask you a question, I have to be honest I don't understand how you can live in the USA but not like your country? I am probably misunderstanding you ?Because there is a lot to dislike. Off the top of my head: 1) I don't like being spied on by an increasingly authoritarian state. 2) I don't like the power private corporations wield, such as getting laws made that benefit them at the expense of people such as TPP or PIPA. 3) I don't like having money taken from me to support foreign wars and drone assassination. 4) I don't like the political process being blatantly controlled by corporate powers and billionaires. 5) I don't like the tendency to intervene in other countries, usually leaving them worse off, while abandoning citizens here. Sounds very... libertarian. Better watch out KP, Barack Obama will start to think you are a likely domestic terrorist and order you killed by a drone. Stop it GD ..KP already has issues with the government, please don't add to it

Why would the fact that criticism came from a foreigner make it any less valid? Any input they have is welcome far as I'm concerned. Well, if Capitalism worked as it should then there wouldn't be any need for affirmative action. Capitalism is working how it should, those who control production, distribution, and exchange of money are being enriched while those that don't control must sell labor in order to subsist with any leftover currency being used for entertainment or purchasing capital in the longshot hope they can utilize it to enrich themselves. No, ideally everybody can become a capitalist. You only need to subsist under your means, work hard to increase the value of your labor and purchase capital. It is not rich people's fault that those lower class plebs have no access to the best education, the money required to start your own business or the connections to make it work. They should had just been born into it like they did. The ideal is a nice sales pitch, but it isn't reality. In current practice, Capitalism tends toward concentration of wealth and stagnation of social mobility. I'm sure someone has an all-new all-different Capitalism that doesn't, but that ain't gonna be implemented peacefully any time soon. I have one, its the one where you're allowed to kill the competition and companies die out due to literal infighting. Why are we talking about this again? You right ..it does seem pointless

Okay fair enough, I may not agree with those points but I can understand how that would influence your view of the USA

Can I ask you a question, I have to be honest I don't understand how you can live in the USA but not like your country? I am probably misunderstanding you ? You mustn't feel too guilty Gfted1 ...I can only imagine what you already live with what with all the " white guilt " that probably keeps you awake at night..its okay to want redemption but I don't think Gromnir expects that- Question to American members
I appreciate your honesty, I have never been to Canada. I must say you guys seem to have a great place. I know South Africans who have immigrated there, they love it Its a bit cold for me- Journalism and Bias in the Gaming Industry
Well, if Capitalism worked as it should then there wouldn't be any need for affirmative action. Not always ..sometimes AA is needed to address historical injustices ...like Apartheid ? Not really, in the idyllic world of Capitalism where the Free Market will fix everything it means that a segregated society will split into two societies. Except that it doesn't because of government regulation. Sure thats the theory but what if the one segmented society is dehumanized and undermined due to a legal system of bigotry to the point where the majority of that society lose there identity and confidence in themselves ?- Question to American members
Gromnir I know you probably don't like these compliments but I find these types of posts you make really interesting You always have so much pertinent information to share and I generally learn something new from you, nice one Doesn't seem like there are many topics made just for that, most of the time it's on some world event - of late if it's political it involves the West ****ing with some people. Fighter and Sakai are Russian, I think, and have seen them criticize their state as much as any of you Americans. As for oby, well, he just trolls people - less so since Walshingham's not around to constantly bite his bait it seems, heh. Around the world, some people can come up with reasons other than envy for having a dim view of the American state - some are justified, others are not. Malc are you proud to be Canadian, would you say you are a patriot?- Journalism and Bias in the Gaming Industry

Eh, sometimes I feel like I do live there. Whatever dumb **** the US of A does, the EU is likely going to follow. Because they're idjits. TN are you proud of the Netherlands...would you say you are a patriot ? But Hurl lets be honest,,,you can't take criticism from Oby seriously, he isn't a real person. He is vaporware- Question to American members
You right, you guys have an amazing country. I love visiting the USA,...it just seems at times you Americans dont seem to appreciate what you have as sometimes you seem to complain about things that aren't that bad for an outsider- Democrat Presidential Debate
Well CNN International is very objective, they feature the Republicans and Trump quite regularly CNN is objective? I laughed so hard I spit up my coffee! They are not as bad as MSNBC (they make no pretense of objectivity) but I'd hardly call them objective. You know what news source it completely politically neutral in the US? None of them. That's correct. Not a f-----g one of them. All of them tilt to one political philosophy or another either subtly of overtly. But I wouldn't worry about it overmuch. That isn't new. It's been that way since before the last civil war. You sure you weren't watching the local USA CNN....thats very different to CNN International ? Sorry Bruce, I didn't notice you said "international" CNN. I have seldom paid it much attention but since it is a Turner enterprise and he is a big democrat supporter I'd be surprised if it really were "fair". But I don't know. Yeah you will be surprised but there is a difference, I have seen the local USA CNN and I found it a little ...cringe worthy..the presenters and anchors annoyed me for some reason The International CNN is really good and they often interview Trump as he likes this one anchor, Chris Cuomo, so Trump always gives him time and responds to his questions- Question to American members
Sure, but you guys musn't assume I am talking about criticism only. On this forum we normally discuss American developments, like the elections and things like the gay marriage bill I would say there is more constructive debate about the USA than negative?- Question to American members
Its strange but I get very annoyed and amused with some of the spurious and patently absurd views people have about the USA when I have debates on these South African radio stations....you guys wont believe what some people think about the USA - Question to American members
