Should the EU become the United States of Europe? What do you think?
BruceVC replied to Ben No.3's topic in Way Off-Topic
You will have to produce a link from some reputable financial analyst for me to believe that. What you suggesting is not a view I have ever heard from many prominent economists People are talking about it, no one in any bank likes to see this because of the potential risk of contagion but if the risk was the collapse of the EU this would be mentioned on network shows like Bloomberg? -

I dont understand? Is this is the legal response to closing down Breitbart?
-
Oh no.. they say she's got to go. Go go Hilzilla. Wooo ooo hoo ooo. I can do this all day! You guys wont believe this but I think I have just had an epiphany around how most of you Americans feel about free speech I was about to say that Breitbart should be closed because it is so divisive and basically encourages bigotry, I was then going to say i have no problem with reasonable right wing websites but they need to take some responsibility for what they say But then I thought, if you close down Breitbart now what is next? Who decides what is acceptable ? So you cannot close anything down...am I right about understanding the US idea of free speech in this case?

Imagine having to explain to your students how someone like Trump represents the ideals of the USA ...no need to worry. This is so unlikely

Brexit maybe, but not the collapse of Deutsche Bank. No that cannot happen, its not possible economically Germany had a 3.5 trillion dollar GDP in 2016, they alone can support Deutsche Bank but even if somehow they couldnt the EU central bank would readily apply loans....there is no reasonable way Deutsche Bank could crash the German economy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Germany Well, no one is buying this story except BruceVC it seems. http://www.businessinsider.com/no-one-is-buying-deutsche-banks-comfortable-story-2016-9?IR=T This is not speculation on my part, I work in the banking sector and half my family live in the UK and are investment bankers Deusche Bank may have to close, its unlikely but that will not collapse the German economy. Everyone in finance is aware of this and the issues Wells Fargo are having....the thing is its not good for the overall perception of the banking sector and does carry some negative global impact but governments are being very strict with anyone in the banking sector who is.....working unethically Nowadays after 2008 the banking sector is heavily scrutinized. I'll be honest many people feel its overly regulated -

Oh yeah, she might. I rather doubt it personally but she certainly could. A lot of the problems that make her a flawed candidate would not necessarily make her a flawed president, but there a lot of other factors that may. When it comes right down to it Hillary is a status quo candidate who is unlikely to make any earthshaking departures from general orthodoxy. She probably won't get into a nuclear war with the Russians or any of the other nightmare scenarios. That's fine when the status quo is popular, but it certainly isn't popular at the moment. The trouble is also that the status quo- things like the low interest rates, deficit spending- cannot be maintained indefinitely, most of the vested interests that want it maintained are Hillary supporters, and fixing issues will often require working against those who backed her. If Obama, far less beholden to/ supported by those vested interests has found it hard to make changes she'll find it harder, while making such changes becomes more and more urgent. The big problem she will have though is the same as her big problem on the campaign though; she isn't really likeable. People tend to be far more forgiving of people they like and forget their flaws more readily. She's likely to be elected as the most disliked/ negatively viewed president elect ever, so she's starting from behind in the first place. Of course, if she gets a run of excellent growth, lower unemployment, reduced deficits or even surplus etc then people are unlikely to care about her likeability, but the last such run was 20 years ago when Bill was President. Zora would it be possible for you to not parrot the stereotypical attacks on Hilary Clinton that our Americans do believe because they live in the US and for many of them they have to live with her as president Yes, yes I get it .....its the Internet and feelings dont matter and you just saying what others are saying. But you dont care about the USA yet you love taking the time to make your usual intellectual\captious comments that ostensibly appear normal but on further reflection are utterly negative Or can you at least say something new when you criticize her ?

WOD can I ask you something, would you say you feel depressed about the state of this election or more irritated? Pence would be a much better choice, I was watching him in the Kain debate and as much as I like Kain I have to admit Pence simply had more composure and insights than him. He is a much more balanced and reasonable person than Trump

Guys the EU is a success story, its the worlds most successful economic union It wont fail, it will survive Brexit. You guys who live in the EU dont realize how lucky you are. You dont realize the hell you will go through if the EU does dissolve ....trust me on this It is not the same as the USA on a number of levels but they both represent important bastions of Western ideology -
Not a big deal, it is possible?
-
Trump wont get elected....you need to accept this as truth. Its okay I accept your trust But that is my point, the analogy is completely unreasonable. Two women joking about something that is funny but harmless is not the same as Trump saying he can grope any women he wants and get away with it You must see the difference ?
-
Surly you cant get offended by that ? You insult Hilary and say she laughs at rape victims....you need to toughen up volo, life is hard
-
I make worthless empty statements of course Thanks for the compliment but I'm no expert on the difference between a stripper and a hooker....I would assume the difference would be obvious?

Yeah, I'll be honest ...you know what does bug me sometimes on these forums. Everytime I bring up another Trump horror story most members feel the need to then compare his latest disaster to Hilary Why is that ? Let me answer that with a question. Step back and think, why are u upset about the article of what Trump did but turn a blind eye to what Hillary is bringing with her. Her husband who was president did the same thing except he did it so much that the govt had to step in and make him lose his license to practice law/politics. There are articles from the victims themselves that Hillary intimidated and harassed them to not come forward. Your okay with Hillary but are outraged at Trumps actions.... Now think why. Don't go with it's not proven because both Trump and Hillary are equal standing as far of this because nothing's official and it's all hearsay from the victims. Why do u believe one victim over the other? Now I'll answer. Because u want Hillary to win and are overlooking and not getting the same disgust because ur piece of **** running for president u want to win. It's the same for people who are behind wanting the piece of **** Trump to win. So you when u bring up NOTHING but bad stuff about Trump and say good things about Hillary, people who are for Trump are feeling the same thing when they post something against Hillary that u overlook and don't take to heart like u would for Trump. That's where the election gotten to, both candidates are pieces of **** and when one try's not to look like what they are, the other side is quickly there to remind what a piece of **** they are if u get any crazy ideas lol. It's vice versa. We all lose with this election because most of the country is stuck in the more of **** and won't get out and wash it off. Please explain to me how on earth this is gonna impact the average American woman. Well since you asked and you unintentionally made a point that confirms you have absolutely no idea or understanding of what gender equality is or more importantly why the majority of women in the USA are offended by Trump Its not what Trump may do, its how he has spoken about women and how he has been very condescending about women on a number of levels. Thats the issue, its like if you were gay and Trump said " homosexuality is an aberration " you would be irritated and annoyed Anyone else love it when a South African dude that buys prostitutes tries to tell an American he has no idea why women in the USA are offended by Trump? No **** Sherlock, the stuff he says is offensive. But the political spin that he's dangerous to women from a political stance is absolute fiction. He's no more damaging than the average Republican because there's a CLEAR limitation in how far he can push such issues. That's my point. If they really want a political spin that has actual merit to it, they should've gone with how dangerous he is to anyone that's brown. If tomorrow Trump said he wants to go back to the days where women can't vote, USA will tell him to shove it up his ass. If tomorrow Trump says he wants to kick all the Mexicans out, yes, sadly there's a decent chunk of idiots in the USA that would become openly hostile towards anyone brown, thinking they need to personally force them out. Women are not in danger, they just have to put up with some half-wit talking to them like garbage, which I got news for you, they'll survive. If my choice is between some idiot who says mean words to women and someone who undermines the democratic process as we know it, sad day for you women, but I have faith you'll all survive four years of mean words. There's plenty of other issues you're welcome to discuss where that dude falls flat on his face, but I'm saying the misogyny, while clear as day, has no meaningful political ramnifications. I love it how you play the "I am an American " card as if that makes your comments accurate or credible Strippers are not the same as hookers and you have to pay them...you dont think they take there clothes off because they enjoy it? And you still dont seem to understand the issues with Trump. He has been much more divisive and controversial than any other Republican candidate. I'm surprised this needs to be pointed out .....

When the power of the executive is out of control, does it matter the gender of the executive wielding that power? It does not. You right of course but I would rather wait and see what Hilary does before I make prognostications of doom and gloom

You comparing the crash of the Brazilian economy to the current structures of the US economy? How are they similar if you dont mind sharing? How do you figure that? This has nothing to do with the price of oil or the boom-bust cycle of Wall Street. It has to do with the forces currently moving through society. 1. Hillary and her possible upcoming administration have no signs of strength, vitality or lucidity. They exort blandness, banality, pettiness and deceptiveness. You could see it in how the inner dealings were done against Sanders, you can see it in the empty words and platitudes she use in the debates and the low energy of her supporters. Humans are hierarchical and the the leadership reflects the currents of the masses. If the leadership lack principles higher than themselves to look up upon or work against the current virtues in place, indirectly or directly, only decline can follow in society. 2. There is little interest in curbing the current demographical trend in Hillary's camp. I do not even need to point to history like the empires of old, to make it clear out that no majority is destabilising (just look at Putham's study if you're really interested http://archive.boston.com/news/globe/ideas/articles/2007/08/05/the_downside_of_diversity/) as it makes cohesion less probable. If the social cohesion goes for the worse, then so goes the trust in public institutions and corruption will be become a serious issue. 3. There's little interest among Team Hillary in averting trade deals like TPP or H-1B and similar visas, where both effectively undermines the middle class, which in turn will cause income inequality to rise and social mobility to stifle as capital will always be more global compared to labour. This will create further balkanization of socities where certain groups climb the ladder faster than others as they have better inner cohesion than others. This sense of injustice of the system being rigged against ones favour will increase the possibility of social decay and even foster militant uprisings at smaller scales at first. So three different vectors of **** colluding with each other to create an even bigger pile of ****. It will not happen over night, but a slow decline that has been in motion from before and will continue with Hillary. That's why the comparison with Brazil is applicable in terms of societal regression. I dont agree with most of what you say as much of your post is subjective but I appreciate the effort and thought you do put into your posts

volo are you going to constantly make this inaccurate and scurrilous accusation and never produce any links to support your view? Do you not ever feel you should try to support these types of comments?

You comparing the crash of the Brazilian economy to the current structures of the US economy? How are they similar if you dont mind sharing? It's not. The US economy is not tied to the price of oil. Correct which is why the analogy is flawed
