  1. This made me laugh There is some truth in the overall frivolous message, for example in some of the various radio talk show debates I engage in I tend to say things like " tertiary education is important and gives you advantage in corporate...but of course just because someone doesnt have a degree that doesnt make them less than someone who does " ( this is a just an example )
  2. No actual footage of him though? I realize it sounds like a crazy conspiracy-level thing, but: 1) This election sadly taught me that yeah, we've hit rock-bottom and you actually do have to give those the time of day. Still depressing to realized we've hit that low. 2) Even IF he turns out to be A-OK and this is just wild paranoia, it's alarming to me that so few people give attention to such an issue. Assange being captured or killed is not an absurd idea, so I would HOPE the general public is alert the moment something seems amiss. Instead it's just the Democrat establishment not learning a damned thing while many of the Trump supporters are now so high off their victory they view it as a license to be a **** and just spend their days trashing liberals and talking crap. Gee, didn't that lack of respect play a role in a recent politician losing an election...? Amazing to me how priorities seem so out of whack and human nature continues to disappoint. There's two instances of video that allegedly happens after the time where it's theorized wikileaks was compromised (people have dates ranging from October 3rd to October 24th). One I can't find but remember seeing, the other is an interview that was done via RT, which is now being scrutinized for very strange instances that imply some rather heavy editing tricks took place. There is such little concern about Assange because many people, like me, think of him with utter contempt and disdain He has been directly involved in trying to undermine the USA for years, and by proxy the West, and was one of the people who contributed towards interfering in the US elections by selectively releasing certain emails which made the Democrats look very bad. He is someone who has exacerbated this concerning reality we now grapple with where words like " post -truth " have become the Oxford word of 2016 http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/post-truth-oxford-dictionaries-word-year-2016-n685081 He needs to face the Swedish rape charges and then the fact he broke the conditions of his bail http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/wikileaks/9343630/Julian-Assange-faces-re-arrest-over-breaching-his-bail-condition-by-seeking-asylum-in-Ecuador.html What amazes me is how some of you guys still think he is some sort of " cyber-robin hood ", he is not. He is a criminal and someone who deserves the full weight of the law thrown at him when he is finally arrested...hopefully somehow by the US authorities
  3. Geez, I wonder if you right....that could be true. It would be a huge upset and very applicable Real spoiler is that mmmm.....its possible I suppoe But it seems unlikely, I do agree that there is an obvious attempt to not show any pictures of Arnold which means we will get shocked either way
  4. Your just jealous you don't get such great amounts of food It is true I do love any event or special day where there is loads of food
  5. Yeah Happy Thanksgiving to all our American forum friends
  6. Thanks GD What type of food you eating and where you celebrating this year?
  7. Citation so ****ing needed. He was asked if he would accept results of the election, and he responded (rough quote) "I can't tell you now, I'll have to look at it at the time." Unless you've got some other interview or source I'm not aware of, don't blatantly misquote a guy to make him look bad. That's disgusting. If you've got one, share it. If you don't, get your misinformation out of here. I can't find it right now but there was some rally where he said he would only accept the results if he won. Here ya go: http://edition.cnn.com/2016/10/20/politics/donald-trump-i-will-totally-accept-election-results-if-i-win/ Yes he did say this but its clear now he didnt mean it, it was just another example of his populist strategy to win the election http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-38077422 Guys here is a story that asks an interesting question " are women less corrupt than men " . I think they are generally but the issue is complicated and nuanced and really requires context Anyway the link gives a good example of this
  8. Geez Gromnir, Im glad you okay
  9. Imaenoon isn't the easiest and most reasonable solution simply for Trump to refuse to accept the job as president and we make Hilary president in the interests of social and political cohesion ?
  10. Geez, I wonder if you right....that could be true. It would be a huge upset and very applicable Real spoiler is that That could be another surprise, there are so many exciting possible outcomes it almost boggles the mind But if I had to guess and based on Ford's general comments I am leaning towards Ros theory
  11. volo !!! This is a highly offensive post how can you possibly suggest.....oh wait....okay, you are condemning this deed. Okay my bad, carry on volo It's truly tragic and heinous what happened to her, and forgive me for seeming unsensitive but why is he labeled a neonazi and white supremacist? What labels as "source" material for this since they don't have any media and examples of him being one except for a stash of materials they don't tell us what, just label as neonazi material?Sorry, due to our media here, it looks like this heinous tragedy was done by someone very passionate about politics and took it to far and almost seems like the media is using a narrative to label this scum bag as something they can use as an example of "brexit racists". If that's what he had in his house, then it's not too much of a leap to assume he was a nazi. Certainly beyond reasonable doubt. Nat 1 on reading for me. Sigh ty for pointing that out. Sometimes we see crime committed by so called " neo-nazis" but they have no real political aspirations. They are criminals and its just convenient for them to say things like " we care about the white race " In this case Jo Cox was killed because this guy believed she was weakening the UK ( Britain ) and her objective was to undermine the white race, so in this case its criminal but clearly political. So that's why his actions are linked to the Neo-Nazi movement
  12. http://news.sky.com/story/neo-nazi-thomas-mair-gets-whole-life-sentence-for-mp-jo-coxs-murder-10668829 Guys a chilling reminder that Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists are real and do negatively impact our lives
  13. He most certainly does have a type of charisma that appeals to many of his supporters, its real and contributed towards his presidential victory
  14. Good thing this hasn't happened. Chomsky is such a hypocrite... " down with Capitalism. down with the free market...down with the West " he cries and bemoans the " truly benighted state of the West " And he does all this and shares his " great insights " while living and thriving in the USA .....you know the place that is the...... home of the free market and foundation of Western ideology He is so false its almost nauseating ...almost
  15. Geez, I wonder if you right....that could be true. It would be a huge upset and very applicable
  16. There is no excuse. Replace Spencer's words with that of any oppressed minority and you have very same argument used by SJWs. Guys those types of white nationalists\supremacists represent such a small minority of white people in the USA it isn't worth getting concerned about, I have seen that same video sooooo many times on various news channels
  17. See, if you had said "survival", I would wholeheartedly agree. "Enrichment", however, means accumulating wealth, which in turn necessitates private property. That is a relatively modern concept. "Human nature", whatever the hell that is, predates any such concepts by ~200,000 years, which is how long ago the first anatomically modern humans (indistinguishable from you and me) appeared. So, no, the right to private property is certainly not "natural". I assure you, nothing in my "nature" compels me to "enrich" myself at the expense of everyone else. I honestly feel sorry for you if that's how you regard yourself first, and everyone else next. edit: I didn't mean for that to sound as condescending as it turned out, but oh well Property rights and respecting those rights are one of the core foundations of what defines Western ideology Western countries respect the rule of law and order. GD is right as its irrelevant if we debate if its " natural " or if " communism and sharing is the historical order " as this is not the way the world works now and how we grow and sustain economies Communism failed for a number of reasons, the main one being an economy based on fundamental Communist\Socialist principles cannot match the economic output of the free market or a Capitalist system And no amount of keyboard\forum activism or arguing is going to change the way economies in the year 2016 work So in summary Communism is an idealistic but naive way of governing a country, it doesnt work and there is no point in pretending it does work
  18. But we all acknowledge that the right wing is on the rise in Poland, that article is irrelevant ...I didnt even read it because its not in English I would rather discuss how real or serious the right wing is in Poland if anyone has some insights ?
  19. Now that Trump is going to be president he faces some important legal considerations around his own personal business empire There is real and valid criticism about conflict of interest once he is president and how any decision he makes could unduly benefit the vast Trump corporation But this has been discussed numerous times and what Trump needs to do to avoid any future issues, the most likely scenario is that he will hand over full control of all his private sector businesses to his children. He will legally separate himself from receiving any income and having any manageable decision making powers within all his companies This is the fairest outcome. Trump is in an invidious position because I firmly believe he didn't become president to enrich himself, he really wants to " make the USA great again " . Yet it cannot be denied he has created a vast business empire but it seems unreasonable to expect him to just dissolve this empire because he is now president so giving control to his children seems like a good compromise ?
  20. I am very concerned about the rise of right-wing influence in Poland, we have several Polish forum members so Im interested to hear from them " why is the right gaining so much influence " and also " where is this all going for the future of Poland " ? For example this anti-abortion bill was raised before Polish parliament but thankfully blocked http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-37573938
  21. well, trump is wrong 'bout one thing: the theatre has never been a safe place for those in power. perhaps rosenberg would be better to be speaking 'bout the theatre? *shrug* the theatre has frequent needed be subtle. the theatre has sometimes been subversive. the theatre, sadly, has been a tool of the State or wealthy patrons more often than not, but there is no question the theatre has also been brave, rude, crude, terrible and beautiful. we would weep if we genuine believed there were even a possibility the theatre would need become a safe place for those in power and am glad we live in an age and in a nation where performers can be so open and forthright. if the cast of hamilton offended beyond the pale, then people will stop going to see the show and their message will die. they took a risk. personally, am not believing pence deserved the treatment he received, but am indescribably proud o' an America where nobody is safe from ridicule in the theatre. not tyrants. not businessmen. not journalists. not saints. some will see what happened as evidence o' divisiveness. it is. is also proof o' freedom. thank God. thank America. ... btw, the writers o' hamilton need a history lesson. got the hero and villain largely reversed. HA! Good Fun! I have to say I have never heard the cast of a US theater making such a political statement so openly to a politician ? Has this happened before?
  22. He is quite hot ? volo Im glad you will never really have to live under a truly corrupt and brutal PM or president. In Africa there are countries where the citizens of those countries have known nothing for generations but grinding poverty, they dont expect anything from there governments because they have never really seen a quality of life or delivery of services for decades You should be very grateful for Trudeau, he is a very good PM
  23. I'd say if people are gullible enough to take Breitbart at face value, that's on them and has nothing to do with "the mainstream media" or "the left". Fair enough. I would say that about all media. Assess the source. determine how trustworthy your source has been and compare it to other sources. I typically watch Fox news, which can be incredibly biased in some hours (as if CNN and MSNBC and BBC aren't), but I don't tend to take Breitbart "at face value." Likewise with most talk radio. (as an aside, I listen to music in the car rather than talk radio.) Of course I feel the same way about National Inquirer and that particular rag broke the entirely legitimate story about John Edwards. The source isn't as important as the information. If the information is good, the source shouldn't be the issue. I'm about ready to turn into a pumpkin, so maybe I'm not thinking this through properly. *shrug* We dont get Fox news in South Africa but when I travel to the USA I do try to watch it. Its exactly what many people think it is, its aligned to the traditional Republican view of the USA and represents conservative views. There is nothing wrong with that in most cases , its the same as other left wing news channels Some of the commentary IMO is biased and some of it is objective. End of the day people need to analyze news stories and decide as impartially as possible what is true. I would just encourage people to consider watching other channels sometimes just so you are aware there will be other perspectives I watch CNN, Sky, BBC. Al-jazeera and Bloomberg so I try to get varied view of global events
  24. It does concern me that some people think Milo and Breitbart offer real insights into the news and social events that other forms of media dont have or refuse to discuss One of the outcomes of this is actually an uninformed electorate who lack critical thinking. We saw aspects of this in the US elections where many Trump supporters simply refused to question anything Trump said and rejected anything from the numerous mainstream media sources The good news in the case of this US election is that Trump didnt mean most of his most controversial comments so people blindly believing what he said and voting for him wont lead to a potential political or economic crisis in the USA But another Western country, another leader who follows the same rhetoric you could quite possibly see someone who gets elected and really tries to deport "11 million Latinos " Bruce I think you are still not seeing the point I was trying to make earlier. Nothing that was wrong with Trump made Hillary Clinton a better option for the folks who voted for him. For the 95 million Americans out of work Trump might lead to something bad, or he might not. But Clinton definitely led nowhere. The best case was more of the same. And that means no work and no hope. I do see the point, the post I made has nothing to do with Hillary or trying to justify her loss She wasn't the right candidate and she wasn't the right woman to be the first women president in the USA. She was distrusted by many people and if people in a country like the USA don't believe a candidate has any integrity or that she is fundamentally mendacious then that candidate cannot hope to be president Her own historical base didnt fully support her, only 51 % of college educated women voted for her. Some people on this forum assume I am inexorably bias to Hilary but even I am not so arrogant to now defend someone unnecessarily when her own support base did not endorse her Trump was the better and stronger candidate, no argument from my side My point is simply that websites like Breitbart encourage a view that all other media is bias and that only they should be trusted to tell the truth Some people will believe this and unintentionally become manipulated by the right wing ideological views of a website like Breitbart. The sad part of this and the obvious irony is that now these people are really being subjected to a bias view of the news. And yet they truly believe now there understanding of events is " the truth " This interview with Milo summarizes where the real hyperbole and misinformation exists. The quote below highlights how much of what Breitbart says if critically analyzed will fail or reveal to be inconsistent " forced into a confusing set of contradictions Thursday on live television "
