I corrected your post ..I assume thats what you meant? Arkan was one of the most reviled and brutal of the Serbian paramilitaries, he was indicted by the UN for crimes against humanity after the but avoided being captured and tried at the Hague until he was assassinated in 2000. At the time he was also one of the most notorious crime lords in the region

The reviews seem okay : https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/06/movies/black-panther-review-movie.html GD as much as your post has relevance in the USA you dont understand racial politics or debates around racism until you have lived in SA. But we get use to it ...check this out, our president was forced to resign and a brilliant new guy has become our new president. The new SA president is an amazing businessman and billionaire and respects traditional corporate etiquette and the importance of the private sector so Im very happy https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/14/world/africa/jacob-zuma-resigns-south-africa.html https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/15/world/africa/south-africa-cyril-ramaphosa.html

What? No. He overturned mental illness checks for guns. He says mental illness is to blame for this one, ergo he practically admitted personal responsibility for this one. I don't give two ****s about what Jimmy Kimmel says, but let's certainly NOT leave Trump out of this. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/trump-signs-bill-revoking-obama-era-gun-checks-people-mental-n727221 I see he did make this change but I still think its just one part of the ongoing gun violence in the USA and this particular tragedy Its not going to necessarily lead to more gun attacks, you still will get instances of gun violence even if this law was not revoked ? Your point being? If you're only responsible for 25% of something instead of 100%, you're still responsible. TN I am looking for valid solutions to address the gun violence in the USA, this seems to be very specific just to this attack?

This is exactly my point, yes the media doesnt like Trump but now we have the parents of children literally screaming on CNN at Trump.....saying he mustn't come to Florida For me it actually seems to undermine the real tragedy. Lets leave Trump out of this one
-
https://www.newsday.com/entertainment/tv/jimmy-kimmel-trump-school-shooting-1.16800745 I dont particularly like Trump but its not fair he is getting told " how dare he comes to visit Florida by angry parents " ....he is also getting told he is being a hypocrite as he wont sign any anti-gun laws The high level of gun violence is not Trumps fault and associations like the NRA always oppose any regulation. As we have discussed there will always be incidents like this in the USA so if Trump wants to go to Florida he should be able to without excoriation and maledictions This tragedy is simply a reality that sometimes occurs in the USA

" they lied about Trumps lie " When its positioned like that it sounds absurd
-
This is a good read, Trump has definitely lied and embellished the truth much more than Trump But GD did you see how many statements Trump made that werent true ?

I'm not really concerned because when we all go in the voting booth there are no Russians in there with us. Yeah maybe they are spreading disinformation. But considering who are last three Presidents were and the four nominees who didn't get elected I'd say it was all just a choice of bad options. Not one of them would have been better than any other. And some maybe a good deal worse. So because of the Russians unflattering things end up in the news? OK, I figure most Americans aren't watching anyway. You know the problem with all those ugly e-mails and other info released to wikileaks? If the principles in the DNC and Hillary Clinton's campaign had conducted their business in a professional manner, like people do at their jobs every single day, there would not have been much to release. I'd hazard a guess and say no one with any sense voted for either Clinton or Trump. They voted against the alternative. And until people figure out there are more than two options the race to the bottom will continue. Fair enough, you guys ultimately need to be comfortable with this whole Russian attempt to interfere in the election But I also agree it has become lackluster and a little banal as its not really that relevant to the Democratic loss
-
https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2018/01/putins-game/546548/ Guys here is an excellent read around how the Russians interfered in the USA election I am always surprised how our American friends dont seem concerned with this type of attempt to undermine the Democratic process in a country like the USA?
-
Like the NSA concerns you? NSA? Not in the slightest, I trust institutions like the NSA, CIA and FBI on most matters. This GOP memo is a deliberate attempt to misrepresent information and the FBI has publicly criticized the GOP move, unusual for them

http://edition.cnn.com/2018/01/31/politics/nunes-memo-law-enforcement/index.html Guys this type of misleading misinformation potentially released by some in the GOP should concern all of us....
-
But is it normal for people to clap and cheer over literally every comment a president makes...I cant recall if thats normal to other State of the Unions I have seen?
-
Guys its Trumps "State of the Union " address tonight I am planning on watching, anybody else doing the same ?

Don't thank US thank Capitalism, because without it your greedy boss might have hired more people instead of dumping the work on your lap. That may seem like a good idea but then there cost comes off my P&L for the business unit....and that reduces the chance of me making my number and getting a fat bonus
-
Heeeeeeeeeeeeectic day today at work, the main lady who does all the invoicing for the business unit I manage is on leave till next week 5/02/2018 I have to do some of her work and its really time consuming and frustrating .....oh she is on holiday in the USA, so THANKS AMERICA for being a holiday destination...you guys are so selfish sometimes

Can you give some examples with context, I did mention that you helped me realize there are real examples of white men being unfairly criticized in some cases but I thought initially you were being facetious. But you never mentioned any solutions and just seemed to accept it...Im not blaming you but thats why I didn't realize it did exist But much later due to other factors I was exposed to it and I adjusted and improved my overall views on SJ, I am much more balanced around overall equality and this aligns to my work in SA and addressing the Apartheid legacy which many people of all races share with me And this also gives me ways to help globally in some places and in some valid SJ initiatives in RL But I would need examples from you ?

Exactly, they control both chambers of Congress and the WH (though the WH isn't being all that helpful, thanks to Trump), it's up to them to reach a bipartisan compromise, but they don't want to. Meanwhile, the Democrats understandably are trying to work hard the leverage that they have by stonewalling over DACA. I have been following this development since Thursday and to be honest in a normal world both parties need to take responsibility but this is the anomalous world of the Trump presidency so I am going to blame him for this ...I wont blame the Republicans. its on Trump This obvious bias may seem unfair but Trump only became president through a perfect storm of real and exaggerated political and social conditions in the USA and part of his entire strategy was based on egregious manipulation of certain realities ....so this seems fair to me Besides he still has 3 more years and has done really good work around reducing tax and improving the USA economy hs

The issue with allowing people to not perform for example certain medical procedures on religious view is where do we draw the line? Would we allow a doctor to not treat a person of another religious faith purely because that person could honestly believe that person is a heretic and going to burn in the fires of hell....so why treat them in a medicinal way ?

Guys I have learnt many things about how to judge the Trump presidency, the best way to understand and rationalize him is to not look at his perceived success or failures in absolute terms. Meaning he operates in a world of flux and political chaos but he vacillates between good and bad outcomes For example you cannot deny how well the USA economy is doing, my family members who are investment bankers who deal directly with the USA think things are in fine the USA under Trump. He has reduced certain financial regulation in the USA and passed a tax bill that reduces corporate tax in the USA. These developments are very good for the global economy and particularly the USA so lets for argument sake give Trump credit for all of this For some of my family that is the only metric of good presidency that concerns them, I dont even try to change there minds about this but they ignore several other questions that matter to me and many other people ...these questions raise real concerns and need to be unpacked. For example all USA citizens need to ask things like What defines us as Americans, is it all about the strength of the economy or does our moral compass matter Do we consider the words of our president relevant to what we believe. In other words do we feel our president can undermine the opinion of civil society Is it reasonable that any president in the USA can publicly and constantly attack the principle of free speech which is a cornerstone of the USA constitution Now the good news is irrespective of what Trump thinks or his supporters believe his presidency cannot and will not destroy or unintentionally erode any of the core and substantial values that the USA stands for. The midterm elections will be a good bench mark for his presidency but end of the day the Trump presidency is an anomaly to a truly better USA Saying all that its important we absorb and understand certain social and political lessons to how Trump become president He achieved an amazing victory but it was due to a perfect storm of certain factors and these factors need to be addressed to avoid other Trump presidencies in the future
