  1. But I thought you said the Democrats were the same as the Republicans and they were both useless and couldn't be trusted? Do you like the Democrats now?
  2. There is an horrendous cost for the USA around these plans and that should raise some concerns and be considered ...I dont mean to rain on the parade Im just saying
  3. Oh so that is how people join the alt right.....I always use to wonder, thanks for sharing Can I ask you an honest question, have you got experience in stand-up comedy or any skills around comedy generally. Because you make me laugh sometimes and its like you trained in humor ? Keep it up by the way, please dont change
  4. Oh Im no expert, I have some knowledge and work experience but its limited But I have family members who do this every day for a living around investment banking and other financial work so what I normally do is discuss these types of complex topics with them and get their feedback. But end of the day somethings cannot be predicted with accuracy ...especially the long term economic impact of BREXIT on the UK and the EU I will go through this and get their opinion on what it practically means
  5. Yes I dont disagree. Also global investment banks, outside the EU and UK, may now decide to have there new HQ in the EU and not the UK But I tell you where I believe the UK is going to be hurt economically. Lets say Toyota wanted to invest in a new production factory to make cars, in the past when the UK was part of the EU they could have easily created that plant in the UK as they like the UK ease of doing business and access to Europe But now for Toyota is better to setup the production factory in the EU and not the UK because of tariffs and the failure of having easy access to the EU powerful single market. In other words many companies will ask themselves " where is my biggest customer base " and in most cases that will be the EU and not the UK
  6. Yes but all banks and financial institutions dont need to be part of trading blocks like EU to operate in the global financial markets. There are global financial regulations and rules that dictate this. So I am not sure what you mean by the UK banks are now isolated? Being part of the EU for the UK as far as the banks is concerned was primarily about where people live and where they can legally work. Banks in the UK will still continue to operate in all financial markets they use to operate in before BREXIT, more or less, in the same way
  7. Let me ask you a different question, what exactly should the EU have done around BREXIT that would show you it wasnt " weak " Do you think a no-deal would be better for the EU and the UK ?
  8. This concerns me but I suppose anyone is allowed to contribute towards a fund that is created " to help BLM people unfairly arrested " ....the problem with this fund is when its used to help people who are criminals or committed criminal acts like the Antifa violence because then the reason you may have contributed towards the fund is not the reason you thought I doubt the new VP was aware the fund would be misused like this if the article is correct ?
  9. Okay, we are all entitled to our opinions. I dont see the EU as weak because there were compromises that had to made considering the complexity of BREXIT
  10. No, no my friend lets not blame the EU for the UK making the wrong, IMO, and difficult decision to leave the EU. My English family initially voted no to BREXIT but those days are over and we all need to support the UK leaving the EU They had to find some compromise around the actual BREXIT outstanding economic and political impasses like the Irish border, the UK fishing concerns and what happens with the delivery of goods using trucks at places like Dover. So the EU didnt give favorable terms to the UK, they compromised on several complicated realities that if you leave the EU what about "issue y or x " I hope I am wrong but initially the UK is going to go through some tough economic times while renegotiating numerous global trade deals. So what I am saying is " you should be thankful you part of the EU because access to the single market has made the EU the worlds most successful trading block " ...lets celebrate that by going out and getting drunk ...post pandemic of course
  11. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election-2020/dr-fauci-coronavirus-video-slomo-youtube-masks-gavin-free-particles-b1257983.html Guys here is one of the best videos I have seen that demonstrates how the virus molecules spread and how masks help prevent that Please share this with friends and family who like Skarpen are confused or dismiss how the virus spreads and the purpose of masks. Its very revealing when you see certain molecules float and some fall to the floor
  12. When I did my military conscription in 1993, we were all trained on an R4 rifle that looks like this. The R4 has similar design to the AK but is also different. So I was interested in this particular weapon because it looks similar yet different to an AK,....and I am not an expert in rifles. I just know what I have personally worked with in 1993 but that was a long time ago and weapons have evolved. I think this has been customized like you have suggested https://military.wikia.org/wiki/R4_assault_rifle#:~:text=The R4 is a 5.56mm assault rifle that, licence agreement from Fabrique Nationale as the R1.
  13. Yes but the reason we wear masks has been well known and accepted by most people for 8 months at least We know unless you have the N95 masks or other effective PPE the standard masks that 98 % of us wear dont stop exposure from the virus if you walk, for example, into a confined area like a lift where the virus molecules are building up. Your mask wont really stop you potentially getting the virus So we wear masks to stop and or reduce the spread. Thats it, we dont wear normal masks to protect us as they cannot I am always surprised we still have this debate in our respective counties and forums like this
  14. This post also highlights my complete shock at how he is being treated in prison. He wasn't deemed insane, many of the people involved in global mass shootings and or terrorist attacks arent insane, and he killed over 70 people.....70 people !!! And he gets to decide what type of console he prefers???? I understand this type of crime is rare in the Nordic countries, which is a good thing, so the legal institutions were simply not designed with the fitting sentence because in most cases the lenient legal systems do seem to work around rehabilitation. But you need to have clauses or ways to bypass this idea of " prison can be a learning curve to a better life " around certain crimes Good to know, I hope he does spend the rest of his life in jail.....that has to be the only acceptable outcome for the people of Norway and all his victims
  15. Out of all the Republicans who became obsequious, toady's of Trump and decided when their previous value system would be selectively demonstrated Giuliani has been the greatest disappointment This was the guy who people rallied behind during 9/11 in NY and now his legacy will be overshadowed by comments like " there needs to be trial by combat " hyperbole Huge disappointment but he bought this on himself
  16. Thats a nice looking rifle, what type of rifle is that ?
  17. No need to apologize, I am not at all offended by your opinion of me But its clear you dont understand how the virus spreads. Its pointless engaging with anyone on a topic when they dont understand even the basics about that topic. When you spend some time understanding the nature of the virus I will engage with you
  18. Yes, inter-state/province and travelling outside your country unfortunately can be real areas that cause the virus to spread And yes family gatherings outside your immediate family, who you may live with, are also known as high risk around the spread
  19. You have a raised a very important fact of the virus, it is spread primarily by droplets that come out of your nose and mouth when we talk or shout or sing. Do you agree these droplets float when they come out your mouth and nose, they dont fall to the floor and these droplets can build up and float around in a confined space or actually any space if there are enough droplets. Do you agree with that and if not what part of that do you disagree with? Oh and you right about me being fine with kissing random strangers if I can but I havent done that since the pandemic started more or less
  20. Yes that is a good question Gfted1 Skarpen how do believe the virus is spread ?
  21. You actually think you can have such a thing as a " 1 party state " in a Democracy, you make me laugh with your strange definitions of what Democracy is and how to make our institutions stronger I have a good idea, its unusual but you may agree. Why dont we all become like China....they are a " 1 party state " , that will definitely solve all the issues you are raising that exist in our various Democratic systems ?
  22. Season 3 of American Gods is out, yaaaay
  23. I think you have explained it well but you have also highlighted one of the problems with the EU legal system You say its about " rehabilitation of citizens ", some crimes like mass murder you cannot be rehabilitated from. You lock the person away and they should die in jail or face the death penalty
  24. China has been using their own vaccine or vaccines on many of their citizens for months now but only recently did they openly release the results of the important live human trials. So I tend to agree, we didnt know how effective the Chinese vaccines are because without the data being globally available it cannot be trusted
  25. https://www.scmp.com/economy/china-economy/article/3117598/coronavirus-chinas-new-outbreak-raises-questions-about China is seeing a second resurgence of the virus in one of their main provinces. This shows us what we already know that this terrible, insidious virus can still spread in even the most strict, government controlled environments
