I made 16 odd dollars off of trading cards during this sale and finally was able to afford the DCS module I'd been wanting to buy: the Black Shark. riding the nostalgia wave for Rainbow Six,also bought Takedown: Red Sabre, which is a piece of crap but is moddable, so some fun could come out of that. and Castle Crashers. which actually sees my controller, unlike that other game from this developer, so I can play with friends online and not want to smash my keyboard in the process

finally tried Guacamelee! and while my initial impression had been very good, in a couple of hours I was already tearing my hair out in frustration. it's a console game, and you can't get around it. I'm not sure how it works on consoles, but on PC... first, it didn't see my controller. I figured, "hey, that's ok, I'll go with the keyboard". and omg it was a mistake, I should've just uninstalled it right then and there. the controls are terrible. unresponsive and clunky, for a platformer/fighting game this is the worst possible thing that could happen. doing combos feels like trying to perform Brutalities in MK. the harder platforming parts make me almost break the keyboard because the character sometimes does one thing, and other times - another, all in the same situation and with the same commands. but of course it has redeeming qualities. everything else about this game is great: art, how challenges are designed, level design etc. and it has a 2-player mode! if I had it on a console I would be happy with it, but on a PC, I don't know if I would recommend it.- The Giant E3 Thread
- Movies you've seen recently
heh, in some countries they don't even distribute original versions. I stopped going to movies a long time ago. it's a lot more enjoyable to watch movies on DVD- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
I'm surprised this wasn't branched into a WWI thread already no vidya game news to report?- Wasteland 2 Kickstarted
I agree, being locked out of content as result of your actions in the game - i.e. the game reacting to your actions - is very much a feature, one that I miss in most games. that's the bread and butter of every good cRPG. I can't believe that there are people who would bitch about it- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
well, it kind of got out of hand when allies of both sides had to honor their pacts and get into what was supposed to be a fight between two countries. I kind of like it more as it's done now. war starts, the whole world condemns it but dares not interfere, because - grave consequences.instead of trying to zerg rush the opponent. I just wish wars would be settled in hand to hand combat. imagine whole platoons going at it.- Wasteland 2 Kickstarted
um, what's a "cainist"? I don't think it has anything to do with the Old Testament, has it?- RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Chomsky is a pretty cool dude, dunno what's wrong with his view on things, it fascinates me. but, aren't all wars pointless and sadistic? I mean, best case scenario: your country was invaded and you have to stop the invasion, in which case it becomes a holy war, a just cause. doesn't make it any less cruel- KaineParker's Hopefully Attractive Women Thread Episode V: A Striking Back

my guess would be a celebrity or two happened to get one and exposed kids to the new trend. I used to hang around the hardcore crowd in Russia, some of them would get certain haircuts that had been popular back in the late 80s, when that kind of music had been booming. when I moved to another country I got myself that haircut as a token of... of something. 4 years later the whole damn town has one just like it, and I'm not special anymore the plebes finally caught on
