  1. they should just kill the whole classes thing, make the character able to learn both combat skills and magic, restricting access to some branches depending on choices made by the player. like in Diablo or something (or like custom classes in Morrowind even), will save them even more time and me - the frustration
  2. hmmm, actually, in DA:O I only used the top-down view a couple of times - in some fights involving kiting and when killing Flemeth. everything else was so easy I didn't even have to switch characters (I only wiped once to that other dragon on the top of the mountain, still don't think there's a fair way to beat it). and since I spent most of the time running around looking for shimmering portions of ground, using the close-up camera made more sense. they can remove the top-down anytime, but they better do the same to my party. because DA:O only had small bits of tactical combat, and even the inventory is shared, so we don't get to use them as mules. I say make DA2 an action/stealth game like Alpha Protocol. this is obviously what they'll do to DA3, so why wait 'til then?
  3. Volo, you're obviously a being from another world. the land of rainbows and unicorns maybe
  4. agreed. bethesda totally effed up with him
  5. heh, this is kinda cool that's exactly what I did in F3. listening to the DJ talking most of the time. (I guess it's just me, while playing GTA, I'd always put on in-game radio talk shows)
  6. Fallout 2 had great soundtrack, they should just copy/paste it
  7. aha, keep telling that to yourself BGs and Icewind Dale were second only to Planescape: Torment. everything after BG2 was a free fall, and Bio is yet to get out of that pit (looks like it's bottomless though)
  8. what the hell, man? people like monte carlo are the ones that kept Bio alive all these years, then come xbox360 Bio suddenly forgot all about it and jumped happily on the mass effect bandwagon, sure they got to pay the bills and all, but it's not Bio anymore, it's EA Canada and they may rot in hell for all I care. I still have my Obsidian to make me happy once in a while
  9. well, it's a waste of a slot going as officer, so scratch that Vindicator, and autocannon slows you down. the assault rifle on the other hand has autoaim which is pretty damn nice. and techs weld/unweld a lot faster, although it's useful only on Insane
  10. man, whenever I play, there's no way people will let me be a Tech Techs have the best starting weapon in the game, have the ability to block doors and if they bring ammo, they're invaluable. I'm always forced to go as a medic (the girl) though
  11. you can light up loot to see it through walls. and moneys pick itself up
  12. well, not counting the lack of LAN support? ) first of all the new character design. game keeps getting more and more cartoonish, just like Warcraft did. It totally screwed up the WC franchise for me, I'm afraid the same will happen with D. then there's th game mechanics. you know how D2's interface relied on just 2 buttons, both on the mouse? that was very neat (Borderlands went even further, just the "fire" button's enough) and I'm afraid they're gonna change the combat system. that won't work for me. but at the same time leaving it as it was in D2 wouldn't be enough for me either. they'll have to come up with something revolutionary. and I don't think they can. you brought up the new classes already. as for the rest, I believe it will be a game very well done, but it won't be the game I wanted it to be )
  13. I play such games only with close friends. and they don't have the resources to play D3 over battlenet. and I don't have the desire. to tell you the truth last Blizzard game I played extensively was Starcraft (or Diablo 2, whichever came last), Battlenet + Warcraft 3 design pretty much made Blizz non-existent in my eyes. I'm very sceptical about D3, pretty hard to reach the same hights as D2 did.
  14. sure they do, probably that's why I stopped buying their games after I had played Mass Effect.
  15. the campaign is very short, took me, what, 5 hours to beat the game. but you can keep playing after that. but that was before I figured out there was no co-op, so I got rid of the game. no hack and slash game is worth it without LAN support. I guess I won't be playing Diablo III
  16. wow, how could I have missed that?..
  17. at least the temple had a real dragon (which I failed to kill with a straight-forward approach...)
  18. I think Obsidian usually writes romances better than Bio. not that I cared about those while playing NWN2 or KOTOR2, but it was more subtle.
  19. Chris Avellone? or maybe Chris Taylor
  20. exactly! god, it pisses me off
  21. well, TW romances were more like bonuses, an extra dialogue line triggered to appear at predefined points, then you'd get a card and that's it, moving on. maybe it's the same in Bio games, but whenever I play them, getting the romance options feels like grinding. Biowarians have gotten quite good at making you believe everything you do in game builds up to a certain point where you finally get your reward. and it makes me sick. in TW you'd storm through locations, humping local beauties occasionally. yhis is how I like my games
  22. seems like I'm in minority here, but it was her voice...
