Atton really likes Pazaak, even sleeps with his deck it seems. and I don't know why, that game is just too random KOTOR II can look really nice sometimes -
Would someone in the know please tell me if one is able to modify how Pazaak works? because this is not right:

So, I'm playing in Steam with workshop content installed (Restoration mod). After getting the Ebon Hawk from that Jedi lady on Telos's pole if I try to travel to Telos Citadel Station the game either minimizes and stops responding or I do get to see my character, but I cannot interact with anything and I can't alt-tab, only Ctrl+Alt+Del and kill the process. anyone know what's going on? am I basically doomed to restart the game? UPDATE: I was able to travel to Dantooine, but the same thing happened when I tried to go from Dantooine to Nar Shadaa. I wonder if there's a pattern, and I can reach any place in several hops, or if it's random, and I should just keep relaunching the game and trying. I'll test different combinations tomorrow... and maybe look for similar issues on Steam's community hub

testing out all the fighting styles themselves doesn't justify playing through the whole game several times, though. you can simply reload the game a few times before allocating points and see all of the styles that way. I'll tell you this: if the game had several different plot lines (for example, three different quest hubs you'd only be able to visit if you missed the other two) - each spanning 15 hours for a total of 45 hours of content - I'd love this game as well. I'd much rather play one short 15-hour campaign in an interesting setting than endure 60 hours of a game like, say, Dragon Age 2. but on its own JE's campaign just isn't good enough to get me to play it more than once. I also liked the setting, I liked the combat system and would gladly play a bigger better JE 2. EDIT: oh, and the demon forms saved my ass a few times, when my other styles wouldn't damage certain enemies (they also provide immunity to certain status effects, which also helped in a few fights).

I see, I wonder if there are any major differences between these versions.

credits state that it was developed by LTI Gray Matter, with Bioware providing their game engine, QA, assets and a bunch of producers
-
not when you get the better styles right near the end of the game. I wasn't leveling anything because my only capped skill at the time served me well almost until the very end, so I saved up a ton of points and was able to play around with other styles before going through the last act. but not everyone is like I am, and they would've been in trouble without reading a guide prior to starting the game

finished Jade Empire, and it's kinda underwhelming. I didn't realize it wasn't made by Bioware, it showed while I was playing, and when the end credits rolled it all finally made sense. the game is really short (my final save says 15 hours, and that's going through all the side content), and the plot is really confusing (the setup for the second act almost killed my will to finish the game). the third act felt really rushed - devs-running-out-of-time rushed. it's especially obvious when you consider how many fighting styles the game has and how many of those you actually get to develop throughout the game's course. I was level 25 when the game ended, that was barely enough to cap 4 styles. I mean, what was the reason behind having 20+ styles (with a set of custom animations for each) that you don't even get to fully use? this game almost worked. but there's just not enough content in the three quest hubs to keep you going. and the last part is just combat encounter after combat encounter with the same sets of enemies. it gets really tiring... this is where the game lost me: guess it's time to play KOTOR II with the restoration mod

never really spent much time on Jade Empire, but I am finding it pretty fun to play, I must say and it looks quite nice, at least the character models do didn't expect ancient China to have jet planes, though: -

probably Destiny -
maybe it's a reference to Desert Rats or it's a joke about the first enemy players encounter in RPGs

you can do that in TR 2013 -
Spintires has devoured me for good. It's probably the most innovative game I've played in a long time. The gameplay isn't only unique but very deep. You have to manage your resources, strategically place them, which promotes exploration. The maps are beautiful. This technology is very cool. And I'm not only talking about the morphing terrain stuff. This game probably has the best grass + foliage I've seen in a while. Lighting is awesome, day/night cycle... The only thing that's missing is rain. I've yet to try it online with other players, but unless the net code is absolutely awful it can only get better. Seriously, guys, you all need to try it. This is a puzzle/adventure game with trucks. What's not to like? It's been worth every dollar I paid for it.

thanks! edit: just so this post isn't only about giving thanks, I'll go back to the Tomb Raider reboot one last time. I took a long look at old TR games (watched 2 retrospectives to refresh my memories of the first two games and see how the other games evolved) and I could see why a lot of people think the new games aren't "proper" TR games. but I think most of the changes to the TR formula have been beneficial. it's still the same kind of game (you shoot your enemies, you climb walls, you navigate complex levels and look for secrets), and I don't think that there's that much more shooting now, to be honest. most firefights are short and intense (I only remember 4 instances where the game forced me to kill a room full of people with no option to evade them or strangle them one by one - they were annoying, though). I only played Uncharted 2, for comparison's sake, and it was a miserable experience. Naughty Dog really don't know **** about making games. they're more in the business of making cinematic experiences, which I couldn't care less about. but a lot of games could benefit from lifting a bit of it. that's what TR 2013 did. and the game is better for it. here's an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrnMJQs8bFA I'm not doing anything to get Lara out of that situation, it's a scripted event, I'm just holding the "forward" button. from the gameplay perspective it's not different from just sprinting down a path. but it's short enough to not become annoying, and it looks cool. I'd much rather have a game that's full of these little moments, than one where you simply have to run around from point A to point B. buuuut, there's another side to that, one that I hate with a passion. and here's an example: a 2-minute long QTE - god have mercy on our souls, with game designers who think this is good design https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ms3Qi61Nn4M ok, that's a lot of words just for saying this TR is just as good as the old stuff. I wish they got rid of crafting, leveling, QTEs, and small filler areas in future games, but even if they don't I'll still play them. -

getting in and out of trouble in Spintires this one was especially tricky: first the orange truck got stuck on some boulders, tried pushing it out with the 8-wheeler and got stuck with that one too. had to bring in yet another 8-wheeler. it's a miracle nothing turned over. and a bunch of beauty shots to close the deal. -

I finally got to play Spintires it's meditative. spent two hours getting my first load to my first location. then another 1.5 hours loading lumber manually: nothing more satisfying than getting a stuck Kamaz out of a ditch at 2 in the morning: -
to be fair, FNV is just too big of a game to have been made in 18 months with perfect writing. corners had to be cut somewhere, we all know that the Legion was the part that got damaged the most.

my cavalry is growing! it's so hard to get mounted units in this for some reason. I'm sure some place trains them but I don't want to look it up online, so I'm left with tracking down bandit groups that have cavalry officers as prisoners. attack! the armor and blade aren't red originally, the pile of corpses in the background should give you a hint -
I don't think it's sold by any store. I'm waiting for a GoG release of it, that will ensure compatibility with modern software.

so true that's exactly the point in the game I stopped playing, I got to the final boss of the second level, beat it after 8 or so attempts and that was enough for me
