  1. too bad you guys don't like spoilers. I'd love to discuss the first chapter of DXHR and what mechanics came from what games
  2. I'm surprised the game came out at all
  3. how do you figure that? couldn't handle complex scripts or big areas or something? DX 1 looks dated for a 2000 game (even Half-Life looked better, though it had smaller maps), and the enemies' AI is awful.
  4. hm, this is very interesting.
  5. oh, so no C&C, compared to the original DX. that's an odd way to make a sequel. W.Spector didn't work on it?
  6. well, the writing/plot in Deus Ex isn't stellar either. I mean, they took half of their game's plot straight from Ghost in the Shell (like the ), and wrapped it in some fairly weak global conspiracy theme with some very bad dialogue in places. definitely not DX's stronger points I find it hard to relate to, personally. but if Invisible War is even worse in this regard, I can understand the reaction to it. although I'm interested to see how the sneak/combat is handled in it, gonna watch a let's play
  7. oh, why is Invisible War considered such a bad game? what was so wrong with it? at least id doesn't use the QII engine >_>
  8. yeah, better waste it on a turd throwing sim instead
  9. you've been duped, it was the same person stalking you
  10. I can't believe y'all are buying into this 10 hours thing
  11. I'm not saying they aren't fine. it's just that to get a better combat experience, you shouldn't have both maneuvering and attacking on the same button.
  12. they support more complex actions, which is the A in everyone's favorite ARPG. so yeah, they are superior. point and click games reek of "indie". like I said, the only game that managed to pull it off perfectly was Diablo 2, and it won't work for 3D games as well as it did for D2. I'd love to see how the controls work in Diablo 3.
  13. why would you even want to play a point&click game that's a dead end, there's Diablo with its certified genius controls for a mouse+kb, if you're a dev, you either copy it or don't do it at all. I guess one could say that it's a "matter of preference". and I'd say to that, "yeah, like riding a tricycle compared to a bike, the former may feel more stable, but that's the only good thing about it" which reminds me, DS was crap in this regard anyway.
  14. how about we stop this circle jerk. this is really annoying. while I do find the **** some people post amusing, this whole love/hate situation is ridiculous. don't you have anything better to do? I'm ok, I don't need a job to support a living, so I can waste my time browsing the Internet. but I believe that's an exceptional case. it does look like a troll post considering what's been happening in this section, but I'll give the OP the benefit of the doubt whoa, I posted from the future
  15. I wish I could understand what's so bad about combat in DS3... I mean, it's better than most games (not saying *all* because I haven't played all h/s games, it's definitely better than all games I did get to play) of same genre. could you describe it in greater detail? but, please, without the "I don't feel I'm actually hitting the enemies" nonsense
  16. controllers are generally better than mouse/keyboard, especially if your work is linked with using a PC. straining your wrists isn't nice at all, I can hardly bend it at times
  17. I bet he' gets hundreds of angry emails a day
  18. sure, because there's no difference whatsoever in code for PS3 and PC, right? riiiight
  19. heh, what planet have you been living on? if you want to sell something you need to make people believe they need it. it's a lot simpler than trying to figure out what is it exactly that they want
  20. they just did, duh. but the only available fantasy license had been Dungeon Siege, so they had to work with that
  21. why can't it do both? oh, now I remember why I hated Deus Ex the first level, this huge unpopulated area... it reminded me of Doom's level design, god it was depressing... fortunately, the new DE seems to have more in common with AP than with its original. you'd be surprised
  22. so SquareEnix came to your home, took all your money, promising it would all go towards making a new cool DS game, and gave it all to Obsidian to develop DSIII? gee, you're a hypocrite
