I'll be honest, I'm glad I can't work from home. Well, until they ask me to have a workday doing traffic stuff, and I have to go from my lovely mechanical keyboard to some POS 10$ keyboard...

Weird, random, interesting - now with 100% less diacriticals

Hehe, I've got a car from 1998 built with 80's tech, so it's simplistic enough. The most advanced thing in it is probably the climate control. I'm mean... it's a true blood Volvo. It's quite true about troubleshooting generally though. My insurance covers a rental for me, I went to work in it once and then turned it back in and just used my volvo 240. That rental frustrated me to no end.

I can sleep when I'm dead.

I don't trust "certified" mechanics. I've taken good care of my car, when I got it it had only been serviced in Volvo certified shops. 1. I had to fix two of the spark plug holes, because the thread was damaged. 2. The oil pan plugs threads were damaged. It looks like they used an impact wrench. 3. The bolts for the engine head was not tentioned properly (Which was the cause for the first gasket to fail) And the threads in one of the bolt holes were damaged from overtensioning. 4. Instead of changing the relay for the electric fan for the cooler, they bypassed the low rpm mode, so it was either off, or 100% on. 1.5$ cost to replace, takes 30 seconds. Literally, thirty seconds. When I turned the car in for some insurance work because a badger had decided to kamikaze my cooler and spoiler, they changed my brand spanking new cooler for a cooler with 260.000, maybe +, kilometers on it. "We couldn't find a new one". What a load of horse hockey. They claimed to have "welded" the spoiler together again, because they couldn't find a replacement, but had only painted over the cracks. The skidplate and diffuser wasn't attached with bolts, but MOTHER****ING ZIPTIES!! I even use a torque wrench to tension my wheel lugs. Edit; Going back to driving my Volvo 240 in original condition was not fun, We managed to get the engine back in it in a couple of hours, but damn was it stressful. I've been driving with sports suspension and gotten accustomed used to it, so driving without it almost made me seasick.

I'm going to be looking at getting a 1 ccx cpu, similar to the 3700.

Mmm... this day starts well. Went out to the car to go get the alignment done. Turn the start key, engine turns one revolution and dead stops. "****", try again, one rev, dead stop - hydrolock. Third time's the charm, and it starts, go to the tyre shop. "Sorry, the alignment machine is dead". Not entirely bad, saves me some money to change the headgasket. But still... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!

I'm not holding my breath really when it comes to RDNA2s performance, Igorslab.de predicts between 3070 and 3080. What is most depressing to me is the time of their "release" and the fact it usually takes a couple of months for board partners to produce their own cards from reference material and such, and as of right now, no AIB has recieved a Navi card to build for. Which means that it's likely only AMD reference cards will be available, and.. well AMD has never produced a good reference cooler, so to get a Big Navi with good cooling I'd have to wait until 2021 to build a new rig, and I ain't got no patience for that. I've got vacation coming up for CP2077, so it seems my first nvidia card since the TNT2 is a go. I'm kind of sad about that.

It's a bit embarrassing, but there were about 300 bottles of Trinidad TDL shipped to Sweden, and I, almost completely by myself, has consumed 2% of the entire Swedish stock of it
-
I noticed that post just as I arrived at work, I couldn't log on at work and post myself, so I was hoping for someone to reference it, and I was not dissapointed!
-
It's not the right thread for it, but I can wholeheartedly recommend Compagne des Indes Trinidad TDL

That is basically all what we all drink here! Mariestads is the only exception. I love me some Tuborg...

Jag hade varit ärad om det blev så, och jag hade bjudit tillbaka, kanske inte Svensk öl... jag vill inte förgifta någon! Edit; I'd make a point to take the boat and not walk over the ice, I don't want a mob of jubilant Danes chasing me with sticks

Damn dirty lies, when the war was on the Scanians were like "The Swedes are coming! Help us Denmark!" and y'all were like "Oh, **** y...no, you guys hold them up! We're gathering our army!" and Scanians were like "Hell yeah bro! We'll hold them off!" 2 years later they were like "Yo! We're loosing!" and y'all like "We'll be there soon!" and then Scania lost, you celebrated behind their backs, and Swedes were like... "damn, these people are retarded, they can't even talk like humans! lets just... end their misery and try to make maybe some of them Swedes?" and they were like "Yo! Bro! We're rebelling against the Swedes!" and danes like "Yeah, we can't we're... hung over from all pilsner..." And Sweden was like "Yo Denmark, y'all can have Scania back if you give us back the art you stole from Älvsborgs fortress?" and Danes basically just like "Yeah... no... You can have it" And we were like FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-- *Parts of this may or may not be fiction, reader discretion is adviced* There's a crime family in one part of Gothenburg that's really going bonkers with roadblocks and stuff, we have gang violence problems in some areas, because the government keeps putting people in Ghettos, so people don't want to assimilate and those who want to have a hard time. The people I know and work with from those areas, men and women, aren't particularly worried. You have my vote! Isn't this true for all of y'all?`

The finns were under Swedish rule for a time, and there are some finns that speak Swedish, they were never really part of the "vikings" from what I know, during the viking age the northern part of Sweden were more independent and Saami people. Haven't watched a single episode of Vikings, so I wouldn't know if it's any good Edit; I've never been a viking buff, I'm more about the Carolinians. Swedish "Vikings" were traders, since longboats really didn't have a hull, Swedes invented genious flatpack furniture to export, while the Danes and Norwegians were in England stealing all their pretty ladies with nice straight teeth and pretty hair.

Icelandic is related to ancient norse, Swedish, danish and norwegian has their roots in the same place, but we can only understand some words. Swedish and Norweigian is pretty easy, noone understands Danes, not even danes themselves. And then there's Scanians...
-
Considering the popularity of Ikea I just assumed that y'all knew old norse :< They are ****. Except their V8's, they sound nice. Well, they engine is ****, but it does has a nice sound. And they're ugly!

Because he's from Scania. Nothing good comes from Scania.

The Arabic party has evolved further! They want to forbid any public statues and quotes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic! They got might vote right there.

Now, I'm not much of a cook, but there's a youtube channel I've been following during the epidemic, about different historical dishes sprinkled in with some history, and I absolutely love the show and the host. Been debating where to post it, but this seems the best place.

I'll say this much, in Sweden there's a public fund for anyone that gets damages from a vaccine, but even so I'm not to keen on taking a vaccine with such a short development cycle and quite possibly testing cycle. When the H1N1 "Swine flu" hit and people were vaccinated left and right, Sweden and Finland had a bunch of people get hit very bad from the Pandemrix flu shot. I have two friends that has had their lives ruined and didn't get any proper reimbursement for years because it had to be scientifically proven that the shot was behind it. (Not really against that part, it is needed)

I generally dislike sodas, I much prefer drinks without carbonation.
