  1. I don't think so, NMA might be hardcore fallout fans, but they're generally not silly - except when they are doing it intentionally.
  2. During the time I spent with him they refused, even though we could show them video evidence and paper evidence he was nowhere near a computer (Besides the ECU of the car, and the laptop programming it). This was only a few days though, don't know what happened later since I have'nt discussed matters of computergames with him afterwards. I can't generally comment on Sweden, and most of my friends are members/voters of/for Pirate Party so their opinions are'nt exactly mainstream. Though the Swedish PC Gamer forums seems to have quite a few Steam users, I don't know if they really like it or just use it because it's comfortable.
  3. In his defence, he did say; @Thorton_AP; Depends on how cynical you are, as far as I read it he did'nt make a sound resembling "pricing" anywhere.
  4. He's saying that, I don't have his account details and I have'nt spoken with him in a while, don't know if it was temporary or not - only coherent information I could get from him at that time was "The #
  5. Yep, and the whole concept also reeks as a PR scheme to get away with paying for Demo's. "Lulz", I'm losing more and more faith in humanity with each passing day. And I'm 25 years old...
  6. *Looks around the room, coughs* Right, whatever you say. *Grin* I'm not saying Steam does'nt have something for anyone, but I just don't happen to need any of it. My mate got his Steam account shut down for cheating, though knowing that he's never cheated at anything during the 15 years I've known him, and the time he was supposed to be playing he was doing something completely different - we both suspected he'd had his password stolen/hacked. He still lost his entire game library due to that. @Purkake; I live across the Baltic Sea from you, so sez the location indicated in my profile.
  7. Oh, gee thanks for that slap in the face. It's got **** all to do with change, I would've disliked it even if it was an 20 year old idea. Would'nt mind a poll though, sounds fun.
  8. Don't rightly know, I'm not an economist - but I don't like to gamble either. And I've yet to loose track of a game I've lended to someone, or misplaced/broken any CD's. It's not that bad, I've gotten most of my old DOS games working, although I have'nt tried it on this specific computer yet. The Steam library might do it automatically, but there are strings attached. For instance; I've lost track of the number of games I've bought and sold second hand. If I buy a Steam game and I am displeased with it, I'd have to sell my account with the game aswell (Wich the TOS does'nt allow. Pricks.) or just plain keep it.
  9. Granted, but I still have the physical copy - wich I am quite certain will last longer than your Steam copies. Wich I did touch at in my previous post.
  10. Sure, as a medium for buying low-cost games it's unbeatable. But I don't want to rely on something as untangible as an digital library when it comes to money I invested into my entertainment library, especially if I pay 500 sek per game, considering I earn(ed) roughly 9000 sek a month. There is no certainty that Steam will stay alive for aslong as i have had many of my physical games; Hell, many of the companies of my favourite games are long since dead ( Some developers at Obsidian are from those companies), but I still have my physical copies. And if Steam collapses, there is no real guarantee that the games you bought will be available to you afterwards in the same way. That and I hate the forced updates it "provides" me with. Edit; The DRM part is also a source of annoyance, though compared to what I wrote before it's somewhat minor - as DRMs go that is. Edit 2; Flood control is also a source of annoyance to me right now.
  11. I'm more concerned about the fact that you don't actually "own" the product you've payed solid money for. Physical copies makes so much more sense, and gives you a greater sense of ownership and security.
  12. Great, now I'm reminded I need to see that movie sometime aswell. Specially since I don't really get any connection from watching the video.
  13. Indeed, and I liked the thought of them containing "fallout" instead of snow, but then again - I'm a sucker for double entendres.
  14. I could'nt care less about Bethesda, Obsidian is of greater importance to me. But what you said is good to hear atleast, I don't want to lose access to my favourite developers games. Damn Naziworks! There; Godwin's law fullfilled.
  15. I'm more concerned about Steamworks than what texture the collectibles in the game uses. I hope it does'nt weasel it's way into their other games.
  16. Followed it through gaming mags, read some about it over the internet, said it would contain; C&C, not a fantasy or sci-fi setting, and it being Obsidian that developed it made me want to buy it. I went and bought it a few hours after I read PCGamers review on it that alleviated any fears I had about it being a buggy mess of bugs.
  17. The minigames could've been made optional with a skillcheck of sorts, would've preferred that myself, they are'nt especially challenging in most cases - just tedious.
  18. Wich is a mixed blessing for me as a PC Gamer, but it's bad for Obsidian considering consoles are a big market. Alpha Prophylaxis, sounds like a good game to me.
  19. Bah, screw Fem!Shep! But I do know what you mean, yeah. Even though I wholeheartedly dislike ME2. Hard to see the whole picture of sales since we can't get hold of Steam sales, don't think those are included in VGChartz are they?
  20. While I hate the idea of a DLC, a female protagonist would be nice, yeah - if I'm going to sneaky, sneaky around looking at someones bottom I'd really prefer it to be a female one! ;P And Jennifer Hale is an excellent voice actor. With a sexy voice. Mmm...
  21. How do you mean? They're pretty much mutually exclusive, can't have 'em both as I see it.
  22. Heh, ouch, does'nt do much good for their credibility in my eyes I have no doubts there are exceptions to the rule though. I like the Swedish PCGamer team, many "oldtimers", quite a few of them that's been there for over a decade now. Good writing, reasonably objective aswell.
  23. Would have to be some optional hardcore mode I reckon, I don't think most people would find that very entertaining - but I like the id
