  1. I'm sad to hear that....you sure you don't have any other problems that causes this ? 980 is a pretty good card, my PC is much worse (660) and my laptop even worse and both can play POE1 with no problems....
  2. Please, no. If you do VO you have to lock down each and every conversation LONG before the game goes gold. That limits alot of things like adding more/removing unnecessary lines or even adding quests, new characters etc.... And no voiced protagonist please, I don't wanna make an aumaua, orlan or elf and then they all sound like Johnny/Jane from next door.
  3. stretch goals for me would be: - more localizations - customizable party AI ( I LOVE setting up tactics before fights and then just afk and admire the carnage) - polish - more polish - mirror diamond polish Just don't add stuff for the sake of adding stuff. Make everything better, I love the "editor" idea from a previous post I think giving them the ability to just scrape stuff and start anew is much better, iteration instead of stagnation And please, no romance....that is usually the weakest part of any so-called "rpg" and leads to "I won't do this because it will piss off my potential squeeze, not because it makes sense"
  4. I hope 5 brings more party interactions occuring and more complex ones (3 to 4 way banter and maybe even feuds). I don't really care about logical explanations ingame why the partysize is 1-100000, it is the restriction the designers set for their game and then balanced around it. This is why ppl like to solo games on the hardest diff, restrictions (selfimposed or dev-designed) are good. There was nothing exceptionally tactical for me about the 15 trash mobs + 2 real enemies +1 boss fights in POE imo, it was just tedious clicking around and pausing, pausing, pausing looking at some recovery bars refreshing and some occasional repositioning and finding the right pixel to click. The most rewarding part on hard/potd for me was reading the bestiary, scouting out enemies beforehand and then equipping the right spells/weapons/items. Prioritizing targets , those kind of things. The fight itself felt more like turn-based with some real time between them on higher diffs. After one playthrough like this I just switched to normal and afk-ed with party AI on. And that party AI .... omg, it was hillarious, characters jerking back and forth, running in circles or charging through 6 disengagement attacks. Just like the campfire. There is nothing tactical or challenging about it, you just had to go more times to the inn or not.
  5. I watched that supposedly "critical" youtube vid about KS/Fig and it is filled with contradictions, just some guy that likes to hear himself talk and feel "smart" doing it. Stating something is "shady" without any proof or good argumentation IS shady. I really don't care how they fund their game, they showed with Pillars that they can deliver what they promised. In the "traditional" publisher model you don't even get to learn about games before certain progress has been made. All KS did is making fans feel even more entitled and whiny because "I payed for this game" which usually means: "I don't have a clue what I really did"
  6. I STRONGLY disagree with smaller party size. You can go on restrict yourself TBH.. You can even go solo!. No point in restricting others simply because of your preference. But i do STRONGLY agree lesser thrash mob but MORE challenging combat with tactical variety. Not artificial difficulty by upping the monsters HP, resists, etc. You are right, I just hope for a better product and more often than not: less is more
  7. I liked the story and characters but wasn't a big fan of the combat, found it rather boring so I used the party AI most of the time and lower difficulties. But then I realized the party AI was not up to snuff either, doing nonsensical things (like activating rage on barbarian after the fight ends lol) and not using half of my abilities. Level ups gave you mostly "same thing with different name" in terms of abilities so for me it was a muddled mess of quantity over quality. I would love some DA:O style party AI management where I can set up my own AI. I loved setting those up and just afk the fights Less trash mobs and smaller party size please. A thing tyranny got right. I'm on board though, take my money
  8. I chose to ignore all obvious hints and just go with my own wishes..... ALPHA PROTOCOL 2 - Return of the Beards
  9. I just read the pillars forum (backer) and saw this forum so I had to come here and post that AP is one of my favorite RPGs. I had the most epic conversational "confrontations" in any video game and I loved the modern spy setting. A true gem.
  10. i recently installed AP on Win7 x64 and everytime I try to load a save (auto or quicksave or safehouse) the game crashes. So I can't play it. with that patch it does not even start.......if that is only working on US, maybe it is searching for the "en-us" folder, because in the EU the gamefolder is only called "en" afaik.....there have been problems with such minor differences in games before.
  11. yes, marburg, sis, albatross, heck, all of them have still "secrets" and oc there is scarlet - depending how you finished the game - or westridge or .... and I need a tuxedo of course.
  12. i played the game already 3 times. I love it for the conversations and staring-contests between me and marburg/leiland AND WHERE IS MY TUXEDO ? I also want more of G-22. Albatross and SIS are 2 best characters but almost nowehere to be found finished the game in civilian clothing and a few levels even with no detection at all (meaning not even takedowns or disables of turrets).
  13. my copy is in the mail and won't arrive before the weekend (damn) but thx for the first impressions, it sounds like i hope and feared what it would be: - hope: awesome story, decisions and dialogue, nice settings - fear: bad animations, bad stealth, bad AI, bad engine optimizations which is sad, to be honest, I think they will loose alot of customers that mostly get encouraged by graphics to try out games even if they love them later for something else like the e.g. the awesome story.
  14. i think it's a nice one, no newbie playing but rather good scenes of effective takedowns or gunfights.
  15. i preordered on zazzle.com, even cheaper than play.
  16. i played dragon age on maximum settings and I think this looks much better. not to speak of the bland and unimaginative design and story in DA:O. sure, it can't compare with shooters that put all money on the front, the visuals, but what I have seen sofar should hold up as "combat arenas" and setpieces. the context will make it awesome - hopefully.
