Arcania: A Gothic Tale
Italian review 82% score, they basically complain about the island/chapters structure and the lack of crafting skills, thievery, sleeping etc. that were present in the other Gothics, not to mention that the combat is less tactical. They still say that the atmosphere is essentially the same, especially in the dialogues (? can't say I felt like that with the demo) and... well, that the game performs like ****. And yet they award it an 82%. Interesting.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!
If Two Worlds II combat, exploration and optimization are good I'll probably grab it when the price goes down.

Fallout: New Vegas
Wut. I was absolutely sure I posted it in the other topic. Anyway, am I the only one that dislikes Lily's voice acting?

Fallout: New Vegas
The 'How does the town support itself?' bit of dialogue in the Marcus conversation is a nice touch. Unfortunately, one thing that seems pretty prominent in all the video is that the framerate isn't stable at all.

Two Worlds II gets glowing first review on a German mag.

Fallout: New Vegas
Aside from the floating gambler I didn't see any bugs in the video. EDIT: Neil. Has. Hair. Wow. And why the hell was that the first thing I've noticed about this preview?

Thoughts/suggestions after watching the presentation
Since we have a topic I guess I'll throw my 2 cents: 1) The AI of the mook-type enemies seems braindead. Sometimes they didn't even seem to attack you to me. I don't know if it's a speed issue but it would be nice if the enemies tried to take you down with tactics. 2) Animation blending needs work. You have a nice proprietary engine Obsidz, don't forget the polish! Don't! 3) Keep the various types of enemies distinct and try to make the gameplay varied. It's tough with action RPGs, but that demo level felt.. well.. it showed various areas but the enemies, while having different models, basically acted all the same. Not good. That said, it's still early in development and that was a demo quest, so it's far too early to judge. There's definitely a lot of potential in what I saw there.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
There certainly seems to be a good demand for a toolset.

Arcania: A Gothic Tale
On the other hand, it's still a tutorial area. It might be a good idea to not let modern-day gamers tarry too long in the beginning or they might lose interest and go back playing Starcraft 2 Call of Duty. The reviews all pretty much agree that the game is this linear throughout the whole main quest.

Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout: New Vegas having good voice acting almost confirmed.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
Need to work on the animation blending, huh? But I like what I'm seeing. Really smooth. What platform were you playing that on, Alvin? Still PC?
-
Fallout: New Vegas
Heck, I wonder when we're going to start seeing streams and such. Granted, at that point, I'll probably keep myself far from them. EDIT: Also Gamefest footage part 1 and part 2. The over-the-shoulder camera looks good. Not quite spot-on yet, but a definite improvement over Fallout 3's bad tp camera.

Horrendous doesn't quite put it.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
He doesn't really say he didn't like it. He didn't even pay attention to it according to his statement. Because it wasn't what he wanted to see. Besiders, Gamefaqs. I meant that he didn't like the fact that there was an entire panel dedicated to Dungeon Siege III.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
Dunno? Something Final Fantasy-related anyway. But you've just got to love how he goes all condescending and entitled and talks about misleading advertisement.

Arcania: A Gothic Tale
.....sucks to tell you but I believe that this game is the first Gothic not developed by Germans.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
Seems that Dungeon Siege III was in the spotlight for the Squenix's booth but this guy didn't like the thing one bit.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con
I'm seeing Alvin there.

Arcania: A Gothic Tale
Just take into account that according to many reviews story, quests and exploration are inferior to Oblivion.
-
Fallout: New Vegas
I don't regret buying Alpha Protocol one bit. For Obsidian tho' it was certainly a fiasco.
-
Fallout: New Vegas
Fair enough. After the Alpha Protocol fiasco I get wary about anything Obsidian pretty easily. And yet I can't help be interested when I hear something that appeals to my tastes with them, which is often. Dammit!

Fallout: New Vegas
Nasty whispers? I've seen it once with Alpha Protocol. I'd like to not see this to repeat. Granted, to be honest, that's just Dan Stapleton. He may be just talking for himself.
-
Fallout: New Vegas
That's exactly why embargoes are placed most of the time. That's why I was asking, because if this isn't usual Bethesda policy, it could mean that New Vegas isn't doing that good..

Fallout: New Vegas
Did Fallout 3 get reviews before release?

Dragon Age 2
And these were the words that started another pointless argument about whether a game can or cannot be considered good objectively.
