Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con

Whoa! Thanks for all the answers! What 'industry standard' mean by the way? Are you aiming for 30 fps or 60 fps? -
I'll miss Larry and his superhero-ish last name, but I can see why he's left. Best of luck! (Doubt he reads the forum though)

1. So now being accurate is splitting hairs? 2. I know what you said. How about you reading what I say? I used that to introduce my point. 3. Nope. That's a logical fallacy. The truth isn't automatically always in the middle, and quite frankly, I would never trust someone that acts so unprofessionally and spreads gossip without proof to back it up. And quite honestly, what's so bad in Bioware being proud about having made the first MMO with full voice-acting? He's acting like that's not an achievement.
-
You hope he's right? What exactly have we to gain from Bioware and Mythic falling hard?
-
First it's not a Kotor MMO. Second, it's an employee about to be laid off. I would take everything he/she says with more than a grain of salt, especially when it seems that he/she basically wants to criticize everything EA did. It sounds a lot like he/she wants to put the burden of failure on someone else's shoulder and not admit that maybe he/she was fired for doing a bad job.

Dungeon Siege 3 at New York Comic Con

Aside from work needed to be done on animation interpolation and possibly slightly higher res textures for the ground/walls etc. it seems that from that point of view there's not much to be said, the game looks good. So, fully aware that you probably can't answer to most of the questions I'll ask you, here's my take on the presentation: 1) The enemies look pretty slow and easy to kill for the most part. Was the difficulty toned down for the demo or can we expect a similar level of difficulty for the final game? 2) It's pretty clear that in the demo some unconnected areas were basically stringed together with the Causeway. But how will that work in the final game? Will it link locations on a linear path like that or will it be usable as a more general-purpose fast travel system? 3) You seem to be utilizing the same 'health orbs' system that Diablo 3 (and a great deal of action games) utilizes. Does that mean that there won't be potions in the game? 4) Will environment be more open in the final game? Or will the game be this linear? 5) Do you have all the stances from the beginning or can you unlock more of them as you progress through the game? 6) Are all the characters pre-set? From how you make it sounds, if you select, say, Anjali, you'd probably end up encountering Lukas (or is it Lucas? eh, whatever) in that dungeon, or at least, you could encounter him and make him one of your companions. 7) When can we expect the console versions to be shown? Quite frankly, while I like what has been shown of the engine a lot, the real test will be to see the framerate this smooth on consoles. -
Another pleasant surprise

Talking about Games wants your questions for a Pete Hines interview in their podcast. Similarly, Best Buy are asking for questions to forward to the Obsidian devs for a live stream with Josh Sawyer. Planet Fallout interview. Pete Hines' boasts. Pete Hines' boasts never change. VGChartz says that New Vegas pre-orders are already more than AP's sales. Of course, it's VGChartz, so it's not exactly reliable.

Some more gameplay

I anticipate your bitching when you'll inevitably encounter things you don't like Lexx. The weapon soft skill requirement should make weapon skills generally more useful, but we'll see just how much when we'll play the game. I don't expect something super-hardcore a-l

Was Alvin playing through the presentation, or was it his colleague? We didn't see what he used right? He could have used a mouse and keyboard for all we know... It would be good to have a short synopsis of the Dungeon Siege 3 panel, they talked about stories and characters in there, no? Pretty sure at least Alvin was using an Xbox360 controller. And all the cues in the video were of Xbox360 buttons, so I doubt the other guy was playing with mouse and keyboard. As far as I can tell, Alvin was play with the female character whose name included a J and began with an A. Aj..anti? Something like that. -

So Alvin, was the presentation on PC or Console? You certainly were playing with an Xbox360 gamepad, but then again, AFAIK, you did the same thing at E3 and Gamescom and it was demoed on a PC. -
Thinking about a speech, guns, survival character but I'll have to think about my stats and traits carefully.

Italian Eurogamer gave Arcania a 5. They apparently disliked Risen too. Going by what they said, there are very few choices and those are actually completely devoid of consequences anyway. Bad, bad, bad, bad. EDIT: I may as well translate a snippet: At least this time we don't have to write about horribly bad bugs, but there aren't many interesting moments and the 30/40 hours that it will take you to complete the main quest are unremarkable. The final result, to use a comparison, is analogous to a World of Warcraft session made of repetitive quests and without the possibility of chatting with friends.

I wouldn't take that demo as an indication about the game's dialogues since it's a proof-of-concept quest to show the various systems of the game. What is it about that you didn't like, anyway? -
I need to start more arguments over the internet... Just keep in mind that by 'catgirls' he meant 'furries'. Now, if that's your thing, great for you. Most of us avoid internet arguments for exactly that reason.

http://forum.worldofplayers.de/forum/showthread.php?t=808439 There's been eight threads before that one.. You need to puzzle it all together yourself. Thanks a bunch. I assume the mkreku there is you, right?

If I interpreted a line of dialogue correctly there's a fairly big spoiler in the 'The Characters of Fallout: New Vegas' video. Of course, most will probably miss it.
-
Not much info has been released yet, but I have seen no indication of Risen 2 being streamlined. Quite the opposite, in fact. Has there even been info released at all? I haven't been able to find any.

"well, whatever he did to break the level for a few seconds there." Didn't notice that. Where? -
No FalloutNow screenshots this time?

Is posting "reviews" with footage taken from previews and most likely basing your opinion on what's written in the previews the new big thing on Youtube?
