  1. I already see it coming: DA2, Witcher 2 and DS3 all get released in March. ****. Normally I'd say that they'd trump DS3, but since they're fairly different genres, DS3 may potentially tackle from a different pool altogether. Point is, will the game be as balanced and nice to play as Obsidian wants us to believe? Because I doubt people are waiting for Diablo III for its awesome branching.
  2. I can't say I've ever noticed something like that with New Vegas, but it happened with Fallout 3, so I'm guessing it's a legacy problem. Pretty annoying that the game retains so many bugs from its predecessor, but since most of them were Oblivion bugs and Bethesda (with the expertise and knowledge about the engine) didn't fix them themselves, I never really expect Obsidian to do that.
  3. Bugs are not news on the consoles, but are much more prominent this generation, yeah. Developers have taken the 'we can patch the games now' as a license to release unfinished products, which is unacceptable. That said, it's incredible how different the game experience seems to be between various people with the same console. I've heard people saying that the PS3 version sucks and other gushing about it, same with the PS3. You'd expect it to be more consistent. Note: I do not intend to discount Gromnir's experience with that comment. People should not have that type of experience with a console (and PC, for that matter, but the problems there are more understandable) game. Under no circumstances.
  4. I hated F3's combat, art direction, graphics, animations, interface, inventory, story, writing, dialog system, sound, characters and brown. Everything was disgustingly yellowish- brown. But I'l swallow that steaming pile if there's a good story. I did it with KOTOR II, and MotB and I can do it again :D Can't understand how one could hate Fallout 3's art direction (its realization in the engine wasn't always that strong, I'll give you that, but it was pretty well thought-out), and the dialogue system was pretty much the same you see in any other RPG. But aside from that, yeah, the story and setting are much stronger imho. EDIT: I don't think that there's a theme park problem in New Vegas, it's better than Fallout 2 and 3 from that point of view. I have the feeling that it may not play to the strength of the engine (which really encourages exploration above everything else) as much as Fallout 3 though.
  5. For what it's worth, bugs are not my problem with the game. And I have problems. It's a good game, not Obsidian's best game (which remains Mask of the Betrayer) but it feels far more coherent and better realized than, say, Alpha Protocol. Don't expect something completely different from Fallout 3 though, while the main quest and the world structure are very different, Obsidian's tweaks still don't change the overall feel of the combat (which still makes the crux of the game).
  6. One thing that bothers me a lot is that there is absolutely no improvement on the interior design. Places still feel like mazes and the pipboy map is still useless. Dammit.
  7. I'll give you one when I finish the game but for now I'd say: -better than Fallout 1; -noticeably worse and blander than Fallout 2. I just arrived to The Strip though, and have done very little there aside from the main quest missions so I may change my opinion.
  8. Shouldn't terrifying presence stop him from reacting though? He still put up a fight against me (of course, there was Boone with me which means he ended up lying cold at my feet).
  9. As far as I know, Bethesda handled most of the testing. I wouldn't be so quick to blame them for all the bugs in the game though, it could just be that there were so many that they had to call it quit at a certain point. Also, first CTD after almost 10 hours. Good fun!
  10. Must say that the only big involved side-quest I've encountered for now is Come fly with me, and the game practically puts it on the main path. I expected a little bit more on that front, but I haven't done much exploring and I'm still mostly just doing the main quest for now.
  11. The reports on how messy F:NV is + this expected release date pretty much confirmed that Dungeon Siege III will continue Obsidian's proud tradition of unpolished releases that may or may not have patches depending on the publisher.
  12. Been playing 5/6 hours so far. Only bugs I've seen so far are a glitch with the ragdoll of my character while he died and an error with Trudy's discount (it's based on your Goodsprings' reputation which means that you can get it even before you've completed Ghost Town Firefight, just by doing the tutorial and saving the lady attacked by Geckos). Game's good so far.
  13. According to Josh it's an NVidia drivers bug so either you roll back to older drivers or use the quick-fix provided by funcroc in the first post.
  14. There has been a slow move to design choices I personally don't like, some genres have fallen out of the mainstream and writing hasn't really got any better (while more and more games start to focus on it, with often hilarious results). Aside from that, I don't think games have got noticeably worse in the last 10 years.
  15. Redownloading the English version since Steam obviously preloaded the Italian one, 71%. I'll let you know my impression and whether it's a buggy mess or not on my rig.
  16. That's weird. And suspicious, honestly.
  17. Quite a shoddy piece. A quick research would have clarified why the Caesar's Legion pronounces Caesar the way they do, for one. Not to mention the absurd complaint about voice acting.
  18. I know that. What I'm asking is, if I have, say, Luck 9, do I risk being banned from the casinos that quickly? Or is that pretty much a 1 in a million kind of occurrence?
  19. Of course it is Worsty. Does Luck really affect gambling that much? Does being banned from casinos lock you from quests too?
  20. ****, selling my body for money it's a perfectly reputable choice of career. Don't judge me, Oner, you may discover that you yourself aren't much better.
  21. Firefox and Chrome sitting in a tree: K-I-S-S-I-N-G First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes Opera in a golden carriage!
  22. To be fair to Todd Howard, I imagine that the Bethesda forum are much more trafficked too. That doesn't explain the not completely efficient layout (which, by the way, they changed to a couple of months ago, they had a better one!).
  23. ...news at 11?
