  1. Seriously? That's as idiotic as it gets. "I think she's wonderful" etc etc.\ A writer liking a character is the reason characters make it into books, movies, and games. It's quite obvious that Daivid Gaider adores Morrigan and Alistiar, Mary loved Sten and Wynne, and Sheryl thought Leliana would be a great BFF. Have you ever listened to Stephene Meyer's talk about Edward of Twilight fame? She gushes about how sexy she thinks he is, and that gushing made her a multi-millionare. 'This character is wonderful and I want to tell their story' is not idiotic. It's the best way to write a character. They're not writing a story but a game. It's a collective effort. The comparison of a video game writer to a book writer it's a flawed one. That's not even opening that can of worm that is whether Stephenie Meyer is a writer in the first place.
  2. Reminds me more of 6'8" Italian Warlord's rambling hit-and-run style. That's an... interesting nickname.
  3. Probably, but it's not impossible to accomplish that while going for a Wild Card ending .
  4. If you manage to sneak it in at the Fort in the first place... there is a safe method to kill Caesar though, as far as I know, though I don't know all the details (will likely do that in another playthrough). .
  5. There's a certain point of the main quest where you can't just support everyone. And even while the Caesar's Legion showed a good reputation with me, by doing certain things I locked myself out of talking with Ceasar (the first time he just warns you, the second time he orders all his Legionnaires to attack you).
  6. Eh, still find them much easier to kill than Deathclaws, even when swarming. Tested this on the Tribal Village and Circle Junction.. one I survived.. the other.. not so much...
  7. I found Cazadores to be fairly easy critters.
  8. Yeah but you have to wonder why they introduced it in the first place. Plus, most of those mountains would be easily climbable without the invisible walls. Empty space left there for DLCs?
  9. I too expected more of an impact of weapon skills. They still mostly influence damage, and if you miss the requirements for weapons, the sway is mostly comparable to having a crippled arm. It's something that may need some GECK tweaking for next playthroughs (or could have been tied to difficulty.. as far as I can see, difficulty works the same as Fallout 3 but without the XP bonuses/maluses). EDIT: Gotta say though, I'm level 25 almost 26, 7 points in Intelligence and I've only maxed 2 skills. I could have maxed three but I preferred spreading my points on other skills I have been needing so far.
  10. I convinced him to go back East just with words. He almost seemed to admire my Courier. Fun dialogue. As for what Lexx said, I mean, I understand part of what the guys there said, but those 'stories' that Bethesda told through the enviroment weren't as prevalent as they make it sound, and so wasn't the handplaced loot (most of it was really generic). Plus, there's plenty of little locations like that in New Vegas too, like the Crashed Highwayman, though fortunately, the bulk of the map is made by locations tied to quests. I'm somewhat puzzled by Obsidian including a large section at west that basically is fenced by invisible walls and contains no locations though.
  11. Wait til you get a giant radscorpion. Giant Radscorpions are one of those enemies that need high DAM weapons. The 10mm SMG it's pretty much handy for every unarmored enemy even later in the game. Makes short work of Nightkin too.
  12. Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition now available at Good Old Games FIY.
  13. Tried the 'ATI awesome perf fix' and it did nothing for me, performance was the same. Must say that the performance has been pretty good for me though, so I can't complain about that.
  14. Sway. EDIT: By the way, much complaining about the world building on the Bethesda boards. Apparently every location had something interest in Fallout 3 which is something I've never noticed in my playthroughs...
  15. Check your geiger counter? Black Mountain is irradiated.
  16. RPGWatch's comments about the game are positively glowing. Gotta say, I haven't seen that in a long time.
  17. And that's not what I was saying, just that Obsidian needs a middle ground. And honestly, Dungeon Siege III will live or die on its combat mechanics, not its roleplaying capabilities, so it needs to be as polished as possible.
  18. Too late. There's no such thing as a monorail anymore.
  19. I already explained why. Because she's not interesting. Sandal was far more interesting than her and he only said 'Enchantment' all the time. Isabela? Can hardly remember anything noteworthy about her.
  20. Quality game journalism at its best. Not. (Also the Warden is going to be seriously sad about this. He only had the choice between a crazy nun, a vicious witch and a merry assassin. No nympho pirates.) It is Isabela. I don't really understand why they reuse her in the first place, it's not like she was an interesting character.
  21. Except that it works quite well in the main quest. In fact, Josh quite right encouraged players to do that in interviews, while noting that you can't do it all the time (which is perfectly fine and I've in fact witnessed that, and it didn't bother me in the slightest).
  22. Is it possible to complete 'I Put A Spell on You' with the NCR path after I've already talk with the spy for the Legion? Honestly, I'm fairly surprised that I couldn't just tell Hsu about the guy, even more surprised when I still got the whole 'check the tower' from that cool NCR gal that wanted me to torture the prisoner (something I did with a sadistic smile on my face), then I go check the tower, wait for the time when the guy should appear and... he doesn't. But that's not all! If I talk with the mole I can tell him that I have a lead about the spy at McCarran! WHEN WE ALREADY TOLD ME HE IS THE MOLE AND ASKED ME TO PUT THE EXPLOSIVES ON THE MONORAIL! AND HE ACTS LIKE NOTHING OF THAT HAPPENED! ...something is very wrong there.
  23. There's clones Kaftan. CLONES.
  24. There's actually a fair number of songs, but since only a handful of them have intros by Wayne Newton, those get played a lot more often than the other songs. If I read the credits right, there are even songs written specifically for the game. EDIT: That said, the decision of splitting the music in two radios may have not been the brightest of ideas.
  25. I avoid it because it's incredibly repetitive and because this time the game has a good soundtrack (compared to Fallout 3 and its Oblivion-y fantasy-ish generic soundtrack). But if the radio wasn't so repetitive I may have an incentive to listen to it more. Also, even if you don't keep it on, there's enough radio around the wastes that you end up hearing those songs regardless on whether you want to hear the ambiance or not.
