What you did today
Woke up from somewhat odd dreams of being in a computerised mashup of World War Z and the last season of Supernatural. Now I'm just going through the day feeling off kilter and not quite focusing on stuff. I did realise I had about 4 days stubble so started on a nice shave and avoided slicing my face up. Although in consideration it might have been smarter to do that after my first cup of tea of the day.

Saints Row 4
The funny one I found is the Mayhem missions where technically you're meant to use a specific weapon. But you can just use your powers to run around and cause mayhem and it zaps up fast. The most noticeable was with the TK Mayhem. Grab a ball sure, but don't keep throwing it at things. Just use TK to hold it in front of you, then run at superspeed at every car you can find. You suddenly hit Gold within moments..

Saints Row 4
The one I had trouble with was Genki Mind Over Matter (hard). For some reason every time I was just about to get Gold.. I'd suddenly find things running in front of me exactly as I tk'd to pick something up. So I'd go to grab a person, and suddenly have several cars drive between and one of those get picked up.. Go to grab a car and a mob of people would suddenly run through in the way. I'd end up trying to grab the right thing and losing 10-15 seconds because every freaking time I was trying to pick up that last object I needed.. So that when I did manage to snag it and turn to throw.. I'd suddenly find it clocking to the Silver Award.

SW: The Old Republic Part 5
I kind of like the idea of all the Reputation stuff. But I find that it doesn't actually engage my OCD levels. I think it's because so much of it is stuff that you can only do once a day with a single toon. So to achieve any serious levels, you pretty much have to spend day in day out going through your toons to just repeat the same missions over and over. Unless you're happy to spend 9 months plugging away with just one or two characters... Hm, what do you have to do to capture them alive? So far I've run two henchmen missions with my Bounty Hunter and it was just a pretty straight fight to the death.. Or have I missed something blindingly obvious?

Hm. never really spoken to any doctors about it. Things have shifted a lot over the years. I was always one of those kids who would end up laying in bed for a couple of hours having to spin various imaginings before I fell asleep because even if my body was bone tired my mind would be going a mile a minute. Which evolved over time to me not bothering to go to bed until even later. Of course, now I'm on a slightly different scale of things. Since I'm my mother's primary carer, I'm sort of on her cycle. And due to her assorted conditions and general pain levels, she doesn't settle easily. So most nights I'm helping put her to bed around 2amish, so I don't get to bed till a bit after that and sleep generally isn't till around 3am. With her morning meds, she's usually fairly dozish through the morning until 11amish, so I generally don't have to rush to jump up awake first thing in the morning. One of those odd things is that if I have to be up for something, or know there's something specific I have to take care of early, I can get 5 hours sleep, wake up and be incredibly fresh and out of bed and on with the day. If it's more a general "at vague points this has to be dealt with" I tend to wake up dozey and sprawl for awhile and stagger about before I'm really awake even if I've managed 8 hours+ of rest. That, and if I'm not in my own bed I pretty much always wake up with dawn, but that's pretty standard for most people I think. Then there's the occasional danger that when my internal clock is askew and I know I'm not going to settle easily, I'll usually read a chapter or two of whatever I'm reading. Of course, every now and then when I'm doing that I might get caught up in what I'm reading and find I've just finished the book and it's going 5-6am. So I'll just try grabbing a brief nap and get on with the day and try to reset myself by not sleeping till the next night. I've learnt never to start reading a new L.E.Modesitt Jr book when I'm going to bed.. So really, I just tend to try adjusting to things and making sure I have fresh cups of tea during the day (which I stop drinking once 9pm hits). The morning cuppa is very important...- What you did today
I have to be honest but I don't know anyone else who seems to suffer from such sleep inconsistencies as you Raithe After a decade of it, you get used to sleep patterns going all over the place. Well, maybe not used to it, but start establishing patterns to get things done when you're meant to be awake... sort of.- What you did today

It is what it is. I've had a few friends who suffered from it. Hell, I've struggled past bouts of it. Yes, even someone as charming and vivacious as me.. http://youtu.be/VYs05qPycYQ Sometimes it's the feeling depressed and sad even when things are going right, sometimes it's finding yourself running on an extremely blank keel where while you might not be "sad" you just can't find any joy or motivation or boost that helps you push along through each day.- What you did today
No idea what I did, but I woke up having somehow wrenched my shoulder in my sleep. So the day is off to a good start. LadyC, it does sound similar to some general bouts of severe depression. Although a lot of people seem to view that as a nasty curse word rather then an actual problem. It might be worth having a look at it from that point of view and seeing if anything clicks.- The funny things thread

Just found out the next member of my merry band of schoolhood companions is leaving the fine club of bachelorhood and has successfully proposed to the love of his life. It's reaching that point where the engaged, married and/or are now parents are starting to outnumber the pure bachelors.. I guess this means we are all growing up...- Immersion and so forth
Hm, I would say computer augmentation can help inspire the imagination. It's a lot like if you pick up some of those Artists books, ala Syd Mead or Sparth - Sure, they've given you images, but those very images can send your imagination hurtling off in another dozen directions and creating your own wonders or picturing just what else could be involved with what you see on the page. Although on the "drive for augmentation" I would say that if you regularly use a calculator you start getting fuzzy on mental mathematics.. So there's also that side to the argument. - The funny things thread
