Watched through the 10 episodes of Dig over the weekend. Slow paced beginning but managed to grab me with a nicely tense atmosphere with that mix of age old biblical conspiracies twisting and turning, started with a murder mystery and an FBI agent stationed in Jerusalem. Apparently part of the initial premise was that it would all be shot in and around Jerusalem, but the Israel-Gaza conflict last year caused the production to shift out to other places after only getting half the episodes done. Makes me wonder how much they had to change things for that. I will say it was interesting to see Jason Isaacs take a lead role as a hero, and not as some villain or supporting jerk character. Included were a good supporting cast, such as Anne Heche, David Costabile, Richard E Grant, and Regina Taylor. -

am recalling that Gene Hackman, an academy award winning actor known for his serious roles (save for a tiny bit-part in Young Frankenstein) was asked why he played lex luthor in the 1978 superman movie. were an interview contemporaneous with release o' the film that posed the question. hackman kinda shrugged and said something to the effect that the film's producers came to his house with a dump truck full o' money... wasn't a hard choice at all. HA! Good Fun! I think Michael Caine's response is still one of the best. He went through that period of showing up in some seriously dire movies, and when asked if he has seen any of them he turned around and did "No. But I have seen the house they let me buy."

i was thinking that the design of the walker was cool back in the day, but now that i know a few things it looks pretty ridiculous and impractical for combat. the most obvious flaw is that all weapons are on the front and have a limited fire arc, leaving the back and sides completelly defenseless. To be fair, it's a classic piece of Imperial design philosophy. It's a troop transport with minor assault function. It's geared to look big, mean, be intimidating, and head towards the enemy relying on it's heavy armour to shield it from most irritating attacks. The weapons at the front are geared to blast defences in front of it to allow the troops in the compartment to deploy.,.. But yes, it's still silly. Edit: Oh yes, and they did use the EU to slip in an explanation for why so many of the Imerial War Machines used Legs/Walker tech or wheels.. Because a bunch of planets had weird magnetic fields that messed around with the standard "hover/antigrav" technology....

A plan of action to keep the kids safe and busy so you can get some quality time with the wife? Or, depending on how well you know Vegas... maybe inquire if the concierge might know some quirky and interesting places to visit that aren't pure gambling and still potentially family friendly?- 488 replies

Everything being massively sped up didn't bother you? Hm, nothing actually came across as massively sped up compared to most games over the last decade. It was stable, and nothing jumped out as an issue.Hell, the last time I replayed SR2 was about.. hm. 2-3 years ago now thinking about it.
