  2. This might be a thing to consider...
  3. No, that's not false, I was being literal. I've got a bunch of American friends who in conversation with me over the last month have all said something along the lines of "I don't like Hilary, she's the lesser evil so I'll be voting for her because I don't want Trump as President. It's not a false argument when that's their perception and reason why they happen to be voting the way they will. The reason they think that is open to argument, but not that they said that to me.
  4. It was.. interesting. They took Dracula and wrapped it around an oddball mix of steampunk concepts, and Illuminate conspiracy. It was fairly glossy and lush with some quirky ideas. Edit: I've just binge-watched the last of Blacklist season 3, and have moved on to watching Dark Matter season 1.
  5. So apparently Netflix has picked up Dracula (the Jonathan Rhys Myers vaguely steampunky one) to do the 2nd season after NBC cancelled it the other year.
  6. The one thing that does strike me with the coming US election.. The potential first female President isn't going to elected for her merits as a President, for the belief that she's a good candidate, or really for the principles for which she stands. She's going to get elected because she's seen as a "lesser evil" and because of her opponent, not because of the things she stands for. That's not a great historical mark to have for breaking that "barrier". Edit: And I'm saying that because I know a whole bunch of people who have pretty much said "Hilary is corrupt, she's a lesser evil, and I couldn't vote in any other way that stopped Donald Trump having nuclear weapons... so I have to vote for Hilary."
  7. So it's been confirmed.. and then not. Game of Thrones will end after season 8

  10. Okay, technically, this might fit better in the games thread, or skeeter's junkyard, but I think it really suits the oddities of random stuff... Kotaku - How video game breasts are made and why they can go so wrong It's both oddly interesting and weirdly amusing the depths of programming and focus testing that goes on.
  11. Ah Winston Churchill. A man who liked to use such ploys as putting a needle in the end of his cigars to distract political opponents. They'd end up focused on the length of the ash that had not fallen from said cigar as he smoked it and stop listening to what he said so they wouldn't come up with as many refusals or points to argue.

  13. To be fair, Merkel was also looking at getting a huge infusion into the workforce of people the right age. Right now something like half the population in Germany are hitting the retirement point. Unfortunately, I don't think her plan is turning out quite how she expected it.
  14. Now this certainly looks how fairy tales should be told... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-rJ-3WRu4M&feature=youtu.be
  15. Bruce, the original idea of the EU was a shared market and freedom of borders. So, basically trade and travel. Not having a European federalised attempt at forming the USA.
  16. The Rocketeer is getting a sequel
