  1. The trouble is, if you ever hear Clooney talking about it, it's pretty obvious it was never actually directed in that manner. So the cheesy camp is more, by accident rather than an informed intent.
  2. Suicide Squad. There are some good bits, but.. its messy, the three parts don't hang together too well. the ending is anti-climactic, the Joker isn't that great. Harley Quinn is really well handled, and should be the breakout role of the movie. Will Smith is.. Will Smith. The rest of the squad are barely developed. The music is incredibly blatant. Amanda Waller is perfectly done and you will loathe her like a bitch.
  3. That makes me think of how Alias ended.
  4. "These aren't the apostles you're looking for."
  5. There's the side of relationships though. You're immortal, the question is, how satisfied will you be on your own? Will you get close to other people only to watch them age and die? How many partners can you meet, fall in love with (potentially have kids with) watch them grow old and die, watch the kids grow old and die, watch the grandkids grow old and die... Will you have to step back from humanity in general? Then there's how adaptable would you be? The new fangled technology , the cultural changes, the politics? Keeping track of your money. Faking new identities or will you just let the government realise you're immortal? The question of the practicalities behind living in the modern age with immortality.... Sure the fun of compound interest, but ... How would you like to be immortal if that ends up with decades being dissected by un-ethical scientists trying to figure out why?
  6. I have to say, I did think for its faults, the Hitman adaption with Timothy Olyphant was a fairly good attempt.
  7. And of course, yet more Olympic Athletes get held at gunpoint and robbed on their way back from the beach... I think we can safely say Rio is doing its best to leave a lingering impression on everybody this go around.
  8. Funny, but its kind of true....

  10. Sad beep. Kenny Baker has joined with the Force. Or gone to Droid heaven.
  11. I think its partly due to the realisation of how many people watch films in China, and the money Hollywood can get by being more inclusive. As to the Jack Reacher one, I'm not too surprised. The books are apparently quite popular (I've read a handful), and part of the idea was always to set it up as a potential franchise.
  12. Jason Bourne is.. Jason Bourne. I mean, it's entertaining as usual, but its pretty much the same thing all over again, Bourne off the grid, he gets pulled back on, the CIA assume he's up to something, cue chase sequences, a death to give him motivation, some corruption, shakey cam, fight sequences, Bourne skills, manipulations, and a few minor twists and turns before the reveal.
  13. Oh yes, here's one for Bruce.. The Totalitarian doctrine of social justice warriors
