  1. Indeed. I'd say it was a very impressive turn, with all of the right small body language elements.
  2. The Accountant. As long as you don't go into it expecting an all-out action film, it's pretty damn good. It's more of a slow burn one, with Ben Affleck playing the part of a high-functioning autistic who just happens to be a troubleshooting forensic accountant brought in by assorted underworld elements when they need a trustworthy outsider to check the books. There's assorted backstory for it, a father who happened to be a psy-ops warfare officer and refused to coddle his kid and taught him how to survive. A few subtle twists to the tale and some threads that run concurrently until they start joining up. Along with some good supporting roles, such as Anna Kendrick as the damsel who gets caught in distress, but it avoids wandering into romance territory, J K Simmons and Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Treasury Agents trying to track down the mysterious "Accountant", John Lithgow as the CEO of a tech company, and Jon Bernthal as a mercenary type troubleshooter.

  4. Picked up DA Inquisition Game of the Year while it was on sale over xmas, it was still cheaper by lots to do that than pick up the dlc on its own, and started a new game on it. Been awhile since that first run through but it's slowly coming back. Possibly over-nerfing it with a Knight-Enchanter mage who I've equipped with gear that provides guard when I attack. There's something still amusing and likeable about Cassandra being an ashamed fan of Varric's pulp romance stories. Ran through the Descent. Storywise it was interesting, game design-wise it was a pretty straightforward dungeon crawl. The only non-linear aspects to it are if you're ocd for the collectible slice of stuff and that'll send you exploring just a touch more.

  6. Just when you think 2016 has taken its last celebrity... Wham!
  7. For the science folk out there, 2016 keeps on taking.. Vera Rubin, Who confirmed existence of dark matter dies at 88
  8. City of Lost Children. A good classic from the 90's, and had to do it with the French dialogue and English subtitles. One of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's slightly surreal films, with an edge of steampunk, and Ron Perlman and a couple of very good child actors. A scientist kidnaps children to steal their dreams for reasons, and after Ron Perlman's brother is kidnapped he goes looking for him, teaming up with the young girl who leads a group of orphan thieves.
  9. If the fade-touched material happens to be in a chest with other things, it's possible to farm it in a semi-cheating manner. If you pick up whatever is in the chest but leave one thing there (such as any gold), then fast travel elsewhere on the map, when you travel back to wherever the chest is it will have repopulated with the things that were in it again and you can grab another fade-touched whatever.
  10. If you're going to say things like that, you really need to put in one of these:
