  1. This is what happens when you don't read all of it lol There's a huge difference between "Texas Chainsaw" and "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" One makes a mockery of the tragedy while the other movie respects the real-life families or victims of the events. Regardless of if it's loosely based on the true event, one movie makes the bad guy look like the good guy. Would having a loosely based movie depicting the 9/11 or Manchester bombers as the good guys be okay too? Something tells me that in 20 years, nobody will care either way but that doesn't make it any less wrong. It should bother people but it probably won't. Except there wasn't any Chainsaw massacre IRL can't fathom why you feel so strongly about something that didn't happen.
  2. I have a well-paying job and I'm married with a daughter, meaning I have responsibilities. Do you have a wife and/or kids? It's easy to single out only one situation but I'll put it this way, the middle-class/poor-class don't fund medical sciences, research... the rich man does. While poor people will loot in a crisis, the government and the rich man sends search and rescue and rebuilds. But I digress, there's always going to be some rebuttle I guess. Competition is competition, that's different from desperation. People here do not know the value of a dollar apparently. "well paying job" Guess that explains why you're defending the rich.
  3. People will do what they have to survive, to keep a full stomach, or protect their children. That's the human nature. It's not that I want to single out the underclass for this but the rich have the money to pay while the poor peeps must scramble in desperation. The rich man is rich so no need to screw over anyone for money, instead screwing people over with what he uses the money on and whilist getting to chose who he screws over while the poor young man does not- making the rich white hair man the lesser of the two evils imo. I'm sorry but do you have a job? Because everyone that has worked a corporate job knows for a fact that the people on the top get rich by screwing everybody on the bottom. You got it ass backwards buddy; the poor people can only screw a few people at a time. The rich screw a bunch of them simultaneously, that's how they got rich/richer on the first place. 4. Do you want to go in an adventure?
  5. Are you trolling or being serious? If you're being serious you should do some fact checking before you get on a high horse; the Texas Chainsaw massacre is just a movie. The main baddie and some plot elements were inspired by real life serial killer Ed Gein, who was also the inspiration for the baddie in Psycho. The real Ed Gein was a far cry from Leatherface, with just the grotesque acts being used for the character and no real connection to Gein. TL;DR The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is as real as any other Hollywood movie "based" on real events.
  6. It's not a scam! It's the absolute minimum goal, we have additional (but obviously limited) funding sources and most importantly: we live like spartans... Please invest in a better art style and don't go too intellectual on the story. Ramblings about philosophy get tiring and detract from the plot..or to put it another way: "Show; don't tell". Good luck with your game.
  7. I don't think society forgets the first part, last I check men prefer their women not wearing things.
  8. I'm curious what you mean by mean spirited.
  9. Yeah I know that feeling; I usually become really productive during those bouts. I had one recently and started painting my house, but then I began to play Hollow Knight...painting can wait.
  10. Apologies, that was supposed to be 6 teeth, the wisdom teeth, and a couple others, I didn't have the funds to repair them. The wisdom teeth were badly decayed because they were hopeless to reach properly with a toothbrush, and I noticed to late that they were in a bad shape. Considering their positioning and such they probably would've pulled them anyway once I started getting cavities in them. The dentists work was good, the tooth came out clean, got it as a souvenir the problem is that the nerve was less than a millimetre underneath it. She knew this and took precautions afterwards to see that it wasn't visibly damaged. I do wish I could speak japaneese though as she let loose a loong tirade that sounded very relieved afterwards. They didn't see any signs of infection when I was there either, went there to discuss dosage and they had a look at the same time. Looks to be healing perfectly. And yeah, they used Xylocain or something similar during the procedure, no laughing gas or such here either. Normally they tell you to take paracetamol or similar for the pain, but that's just pointless. So a Swedish guy walks into a Japanese dentist...sounds like the makings of a joke. Thanks for sharing, I guess now you just have to suffer your recovery. Just out of curiosity, where you in any pain before you went to the dentist? I just ask because I get a paranoid notion that dentists on the States are more than willing to pull healthy teeth just to make a few more bucks.
  11. You're welcome to take a trip to Sweden, and I'll happily knock a couple of your teeth out and see how much you complain, because you clearly need to feel some to learn what it is It's not my first bout with pulling teeth, I've pulled 7 so far and none have hurt to this degree for this long. Have you checked to see if it got infected, did the tooth came out clean or there might be something still stuck inside? Other than that it might have just been a bad dentist that did a bad cut. Also, I decline on your invitation to a teeth pulling bout as it seems like you are already ahead of me on that regard (7 teeth, for God's Sake man learn to brush!)
  12. I will relay an anectode from my old Third world country. Where we didn't have morphine and tooths had to be taken out with just a Novocaine shot and there wasn't any tablets given afterwards to help with the pain. I put this forth so that you know that i'm very serious when I say that I've seen women who had their tonsils taken out complain far less. Avoid hard and chewy foods, don't eat anything with starch in it (very difficult to get out) and more importantly man the **** up; it's pain it don't go away just cause you don't like it.
  13. Saw King Arthur...Katie Mcgrath is quickly becoming the female Sean Bean.
  14. Now you are just being silly. Your default seems to be "**** you're not below the poverty line, what the **** do you know?" I wouldn't say it so rudely to you, after all we are all friends here. But you're right, I will say that I'm aware that is not impossible for low class to start a business but I always draw a blank when I try to think how they did it. My guess is that they had the connections beforehand and wasn't as big of a risk for them to take loans.
  15. Nah, even start ups need to have some capital to cover the operating costs before they manage to produce anything. The notion that the guy working at a supermarket can just save enough money and then quit his job to start a business and that it will make him a millionaire is nonsense. At best they end up owning a store or food place, which it will take them years to develop into a franchise only to be bought out by one of the major players or to keep competing across multiple generations(and that its how it should work up to a point). Meanwhile some rich guy is able to use both his capital and connections to grow a business in less than a decade and he gets praised for it, never mind that his only contribution was to have the capital and the connection and nothing more. So with all that in mind, please forgive me if I take what rich people say with a big heap of salt as I know my situation is way too different to what they started with. Also, what's your friend lifestyle like? is he good with money or is he wasteful? In short, what's the reason for his current predicament? Because I find the whole thing weird; not impossible, just a bit hard to swallow without some context. A few years back I and five other partners started a company selling, installing and servicing public Wi-Fi. We split the start up cost six ways. I took out a 2nd mortgage on my home and borrowed the max allowed from my retirement savings. I went all in for my part. We worked 14 hour days, sometimes even round the clock. Sometimes every day of the week. When I travelled I did so on my own dime. The company was a success, it began to grow. It became very profitable. And after three years we sold it. With my share I paid off my house, all my debts, fully funded my retirement when the time comes if I'm careful, and a little money in the bank for other investments like my rental property. I'm not a millionaire by any means but by my estimation I'm rich. I owe nothing to anyone except my car payment and I have everything I need and a few thing I want. If a dumbass like me can do that, anyone can. But you have to have something to sell, and the capital to get it off the ground. But it can be had without being or knowing millionaires. If you have a product you can sell, and that product can be your labor or knowledge or skills you have, and a workable business plan you can find investors. Believe me, anyone can do it. The guy I mentioned was on of my partners in this enterprise. He's not wasteful, just seriously overleveraged. He's got a lot of money tied up in long term growth projects that he really does not want to sell. He discussed an opportunity with me but off shore real estate is a little too risky for me. Just my $.02 here but real wealth isn't a bank balance. It freedom from worry. Debt is worry. I know guys who have made money leveraging debt. In fact we have a guy like that in the White House right now. Nuts to that. Wealth is not being able to buy big things, it's owning the things you have. I don't care about nice clothes, or fancy cars, or big vacations. I do care about not waking up at night worrying about a bill that needs to be paid. I may sell my home someday but you better believe I'll never borrow against it again. Thanks for sharing, I'm always curious about these types of things. It just seems to me that either you had to rely on angel investors or you had some money saved, the latter not being viable for someone whose job doesn't generate enough capital to provide for their need and start a business. OTOH I see a lot of people whose jobs are so demanding that have little time and little will to embark on a business venture specially when it can mean that they lose their job in a very hostile job market.

  17. I'm sorry but I been radicalized enough that I don't care what rich people tell me about anything. I just default to "**** you're rich, what the **** do you know?".
  18. Swear to God I was watching this one a few hours before...guess I like my patriotism with some humor.
  19. That sketch was a few people short from a Whedonverse reunion.
  20. I think it makes you talk in Spanish, as a Hispanic I can attest that we are all on morphine.
  21. I keep hearing things about the Poles that make me think they're the Mexicans of Europe.
  22. Vol, you have complained enough about gender disparity to know that affronts against women are considered particularly heinous for obvious non patriarchal reasons (feminists aren't going to ruin a good thing...a good thing for them that is.)
