  1. Every time you get ringing in your ears from being exposed to loud noises, you've gotten permanent damage, it's just a question of how much that's gone. You wouldn't really notice it either. I want to shoot a FN Five-seven, but there's noone around here that has one. Gun ownership isn't unusual, but pistols are rare. Never shot one but it seems like it would be comfortable since most of the bulk is closer to the hand. I have a bunch of ranges around my area, if I ever get the chance to shoot one I will tell you.
  2. Better late than nev--oh, wait. Is it weird that I read it as lady for anal? OK, I ****ing give up what does E50HW stands for?
  3. You've managed to permanently damage your hearing a bit. Sorry for your loss. On the upside I rented a PX4 and I now love that gun...also the ringing is gone I don't know If there is actually permanent damage but OTOH, YOLO.
  4. Went to the range, apparently I didn't quite put the ear protection right so now my left eardrum is ringing a little bit.
  5. I think there is enough material on his books to make a Verneverse. Just out of curiosity, is his work now completely in public domain? https://www.quora.com/Are-the-books-written-by-Jules-Verne-in-the-public-domain-such-that-they-can-be-distributed-commercially

  7. Not exactly getting hyped. I don't feel that trailer told us much other than we're apparently going to go through a mountain pass. i LOVE Mountain Passes!
  8. Congratulations, you made me look for the entire video just so that I could confirm that the world is cruel place. You could have posted something funny or uplifting but instead I saw a leopard eat a newborn impala. Hey, you are the one that brought the cruel reality here. I watched it and figured it played out like a Disney movie, and the Cheetah raised the young Impala as his own. Sorry, I know reality doesn't work like that just like I know that Disney is run by a bunch of bastards and pedophiles that will exploit your love of their product for their own end. Like the bard sang "The more I see the less I believe"...a bit somber for the funny thread.
  9. Jealous? I might eventually take a picture of my bird nest beard but for now a simple no will suffice. We do have the same haircut though.

  11. At this point I think a spiritual successor through crowdfunding would be the best way to go about it. I would hate to have a publisher attached to what essentially is a niche game trying to modernize it or make it more like something that sells. I already hate SquareEnix for doing that to Deus Ex. Crowdfunding wouldn't come close to covering what the original cost to make though. Can't say I'd be too enthused at the idea. The game needs some real dollars thrown behind it. I'm interested in what your sources are; you sound very sure, please share if you can. I obviously don't expect a game at the same level; specially since voice acting would be a big expense. But that's why I said a spiritual successor and not a sequel. I'd be fine even if it was an indie management game where you have to balance the emotional state of your sources, establish new ones and are pressured to find particular pieces of information all while trying to avoid detection...Great, now I want to play that game and its not even being made.
  12. I wonder how much of its sales were due to name recognition (ie. fans of the previous trilogy bought it regardless of ratings/reviews), but it didn't generate the type of new sales that Bio/EA expected beyond the already existing fans. There were other reasons as to why the game was messy but they claim that office politics between Edmonton and Montreal hindered the game. Skip to around 4:28 if you only interested in that
  13. What's with the pornstache? I also watched the eclipsed but refuse to take a selfie for ideological reasons.
  14. The game sold well despite its troubles, the way that this whole thing has been handled does smell of corporate ****ery and lends credence to the claims that BW Edmonton was out to sabotage the project.

  16. At any rate, if there isn't a word you should just make one up like: "paraoptimonium"
  17. schadenfreude? Nah, that's enjoying another's misery. This is more like the opposite of that. IDK, I get pretty upbeat when people around me are suffering and it kinda makes me nervous.
  18. Yeah they say that, but I'm sure that it worked out ok. I mean, they saw enough of the guy to know he was drunk.
  19. I find that quote to be pretty apt for Israel as they're in danger of becoming the kind of people that they originally fled. Not in the nazi sense, more in the non-democratic apartheid sense. I'd say they're pretty much there, I image that you're referring to their treatment of the Ethiopian and the Sudanese. Also, it seems like an unfair comparison due to Germany having a strain on resources because of war efforts, leading to extreme measures. Israel seems to be heading there despite astronomical monetary support from the US; which we should stop IMO. I meant the way they treat the Palestinians and israeli-arabs, the Jewish population is actually a minority in their country. They literally have a choice between having a democratic state while being a minority vs a nondemocratic state ruled by the minority. For the general public; in case you didn't know. Israel had a influx of immigrant from Africa; a portion being Ethiopian or Sudanese Jews, whom they have temporarily sterilized (at least we can hope its temporary) and packed into a repurposed jailhouse where they are harassed by authorities for doing anything that might be considered "settling in". It is very obvious that the Israeli government doesn't want them there despite a portion of them being jewish.

  21. I wonder what glorious channer came up with that one.
  22. Personally, I don't have that many issues with Steam games (although I have returned games which didn't work for me only on steam) I just like GOG better because of both their model, it being a good platform for indie games and a very generous return policy. A noteworthy point is that they give away a lot of games for free on their sales as incentives to buy, that beats Steam sales. I guess what hurts them most is the low selection but as a market that caters to a niche audience they excel.
