I'm honestly starting to wonder if you're just trolling, or this thing is actually so hard for you to grasp? No, I'm actually a fan of GoW. Objection, you are badgering the witness. Ironically, I thought he was witnessing a badger. What?

This thread is now about sentences.

I should imagine he's far too excited to sit down and write it out. He's like a kid at his birthday party on this one. Tearing around his flat shouting "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee". The amusing thing is that LoF hasn't actually said a word in this thread. It would be funny to find out that it was because it's provider got shut down due to the merger or something

Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I haven't crapped my pants yet, so big minus on that.

Actually I'm sure there are folks out there who will purchase DS2 purely for the extra stuff it gets them in DA2, just like there are folks who will purchase 10 copies of the same comic because they all have a different cover. Completionists like that though will always be in the minority and that's not really the point. The point of cross-promotion stuff like this is to advertise one game to those who so far were only interested in the other. To sell the consumer two products instead of just one. If people end up buying both games because of this form of advertising then it's doing its job, the specifics on how they came to make their choice isn't important. Edit: What Nepenthe said above. If you've already decided to purchase both games, then you aren't the target of this cross-promotion. If you're the type who prefers to wait six months after release in the hope a game will be cheaper, patched and available in some sort of gold edition then you aren't the target of pre-release promotions. DLC preorder bonuses exist to sway those who think along the lines of "If I put money down now I get more at no extra cost". If you're more the type to think "They're ripping stuff out of the game to sell back to me later", then you aren't the target of such promotions. You are not the target demographic, you are part of the target demographic. Sorry, I forgot that people are irrational beings. I'm actually the type that thinks: "if a modder can do a better job and release it for free, why would I want to pay them for the same quality?" That's my main beef with DLC, I expect something better from a game company that has 80 people working for them vs a random guys on the web that are able to release modules that are of higher make. I'd go as far as say that he's part of A target demographic. I think it's pretty much a given that they are targeting some of the god of war demographic, as well. I'm part of that demographic too.

I agree, it sounds like the teacher is just horrible at classroom management, rather than encouraging this behavior, which is what the media has kind of portrayed it as. It's still unacceptable. There are times when I get distracted in the classroom grading or helping a student out, and then I look up and some yahoo is doing something dumb, but this sounds pretty crazy. I don't think they should be tarring and feathering the teacher though, they haven't even finished the investigation. Or this could be a game of "doctor" taken too far. I know that all this sounds far too shocking but children actually have sexual thoughts, they begin to discover the aspects of their own sexuality and are curious about the opposite sex. Of course, the behavior these two kids its' inappropriate but there should be care in how they admonish them. After all they weren't doing something wrong, it's just wrong that they were doing it ahead of time.

You really think that a piece of armor it's going to make anyone buy Dead Space? Me:'Hey you there, random person #1. Why did you bought Dead Space?" Random person #1: "it was because of that nifty looking armor for DA2" Yeah, I don't see that happening. Kudos on your memory (or your ability to go back several pages) Considering that I will be getting Dead Space and further in time DA2, I am the target demographic. Point is that both games have nothing to do with each other, It's like getting mints with your newly bought AK. Doesn't do much for you.

Which it's exactly why it bothers me, day one DLC began as pre-ordering and for choosing a distributor (GameStop ) over another. I don't understand this promotional shtick, it's not gonna attract customers to the product and it's only for those who buy the two games. If they really want to attract a customer base they should offer points for every game you buy all working towards buying DLC or another game directly from them.
-
I'm a potential customer, if the marketing strategies are not directed towards potential buyers then I don't see the point of it. Considering that I'm an RPG fan, I am DA2's target demography. They don't know me, they don't know if come release date I might buy the game in the next 10 days, I'm a faceless number on a company board. If this marketing ploy it's not to broaden their audience; attract people that might not be all that interested in survival horror or RPGs to their product. Then I'm completely missing the point here.
-
Because it doesn't sway you doesn't mean it doesn't sway anyone. From Grommir: "so, again, why does you believe that the intent o' the developer is to sway you"
-
Then I completely miss the point of pre-order, day one DLC. It doesn't discourage piracy and it doesn't sway customers, why do companies continue to include it then? For the distributor it makes sense, since their pre-order packs may convince the customers that were thinking of pre ordering. It made sense when DAO offered the dragon blood armor for ME2, since it was the same target demography and customer base. I don't see Dead Space having much in common with DA2. Do you really think that anyone buying DA2 will go so nuts over an armor that they will spend $60 bucks on a game? A lot of money to pay for a butt ugly armor.
-
Why? Maybe because release day DLC are made for such a thing otherwise you have to pay extra for a piece of crappy armor. If it's not altering my attitudes about either game what good is it; shouldn't DLC be the thing that helps me make up my undecided mind?
-
I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. I dunno, do fans of Dead Space and DA2 overlap much? I can't imagine buying Dead Space 2 full price to get some armor. ignoring for a moment that ea don't own minsc and boo, am curious to hear what peoples thinks would be the relative costs to add unlockable characters (with dedicated vo resources) versus adding some goofy armour. HA! Good Fun! Ignoring for a moment that a crappy armor won't make me buy Dead Space or DA2 before they hit bottom prices, am curious to hear why they though that an armor would work. VS a fully developed module.
-
Or they could just stop these shameless self promotions and actually make a case for buying their games other than a crappy armor that I can do without.

Is it a bad thing that we suck at flaming? That just means that we are too polite to even conceive a proper flaming, or we just suck at it.

Contains cursing so possibly NSFW. One thought: :woot: I second it :woot:

Probably because you are missing your legs nah, you're right this was just a sketch. Didn't have much time to work on it. Sad part it's that apparently this it's going to be my homework for the rest of the quarter (aside from the actual homework) So I better get used to running up to strange people and drawing them.

I think it's a bevot gorgets were made of steel and leather not plate. IIRC

And as I promised here it is a week later. Sorry about the bright spots; damn scanner. Tried really hard not to make you look like Ted Kaczynski.

There be a ****storm a'brewing.

At one point they have to realize that repetition destroys a concept. How many armors before I don't care? Worst case of it ME2, there was one armor for every pre-order from a distributor. The lot of which were useless and worst had no customization, so what's the point? Cherry on top?
