  1. Well, I do have really big....hand
  2. I'm hoping that this will bring the two communities closer and sort out the extremists. Although they could be sneaky and pretend to care, community leaders supporting acts like this on one hand and turning a blind eye to terrorism on the other. Maybe i'm being cynical though.
  3. Because if you die in a dream you go to limbo where you need to be reminded that you are in a dream. His dead wife was just a representation of the actual dead person(meaning that his subconscious filled limbo with her), although depending on what interpretation of the movie you follow the presence of the wife is subject to change.
  4. Now Now, we can't kill the loonies or else we'd be Nazis. Mental Institutions deal with the aggressive as well those without family, the distinction is made between the criminally insane and the pathological. Most people aren't prepared to care for such ailments and a lot of them don't want to carry the burden. Since the mentally ill are unable to function properly without assistance, Institutions is an alternative to having them all out on the streets or running rampant.
  5. The idea was that you could enter the subconscious through dreams and that there were levels of conscience in which time passed differently than in real time. This due to the fact that it's thoughts being processed at high speeds. In the deeper levels (limbo) years would pass while only minutes went by in the real world. Everything has a subconscious representation, in Leo's character his wife had a large space because of the guilt that he felt.
  6. Don't stand, Don't stand. Don't stand so close to me.
  7. My problem is that the overly sexual fashion from adult it's being marketed towards pubescent children. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with this if our sexual views on maturity went on to admit that biologically sex life starts at an 14-15 average years of age. It's just something that seems weird to me, maybe because I was raised in another culture. Anything below that age I consider deeply depraved, and I hate those pageants you mention. I think that they should be categorized as child labor and banned.
  8. Well that's it, Bio finnally did. Lolitas. With DD breasts. 'Tis a glorious day for fanboys everywhere, right now the BW social site is bustling with reverie. So is 4chan; not that they are related.
  9. What are you talking about? the whole movie was him notshowing emotion. BTW I would get out of here before he starts talking about music, were I you.
  10. They basically rely on the shops to judge the mental state of the buyer who hasn't been declared insane by the state because he hasn't undergone treatment. This is just another example of the government hoping that every state is capable of ruling themselves, but neither the state nor the federal government do anything to prevent events like this from happening. When they do they become a media frenzy game of hot potato to see where the blame lands and the problem continues unsolved. Deja Vu from Columbine, anyone?
  11. you lot are very strange people You mean the millions that go after AAA games?
  12. It's probably because we treat games like cinemas, we don't want to spend our money on a movie that: It's bad, has no famous actors, we can see when the DVD comes out, has no 3D... We are basically going for the VG equivalent of the blockbuster because at those prices we want some guarantee of enjoyment.
  13. Well; our government isn't know for patience or biding it's time, they are completely reactionary towards everything.
  14. Well I've only been living here for 5 years so I wouldn't know.
  15. Disagree. I still believe in freedom of speech. The so called 'vitriol' is as much responsible for this tragedy as Doom was for Columbine. Gabby was neither a major target of the left or right. This loon had a problem with the constitution's 'grammar' of all things, and she had read the constitution just a few days ago. He lived, literally 3 miles away from her. The perfect storm of mental health problems and someone associated with his delusions showing up at his door step. The guy was a lunatic no doubt, yet as of late the political scene has become humorously insane. With so many rally cries to take action it was only a matter of time before the crazies started listening. I'm for free speech but there is a limit to what can be said and quite frankly the country has gone insane.
  16. The Girl who played with Fire. Saw Going the Distance, good cutesy romantic comedy. Got quite a few laughs.
  17. It's another distressing example of how easy it's for loonies to go out on a rampage. I think the sheriff comments on the situation were spot on.
  18. Pixies-where is my mind
  19. Now you are just picking my Clint Mansell freak bone.
  20. Ohhh, too edgy. Publisher would never approve. there is a reason why crpg writers inject seeming over-the-top drama into their characters. unlike a novel in which the author can patiently develop a character using many pages and chapters o' text, a crpg writer has a relative small number o' dialogue encounters in which to fully develop a character. so some writers believe that the initial character concept is what is key in creating a crpg character. chrisA is one o' the most notorious and unapologetic proponents o' this approach... wrote a blog or did an interview or round-table thingie that addressed this issue. Yeah well, games are not a novel. Movies usually take just one scene to define the character to the audience whom will come to see him in this light for the rest of the film. The conflict puts them at test and provides the story; whether the focus is the conflict ( e.g:action, horror) or the characters (e.g:drama) determines what carries value. Now, why can't video games writers conceive this is beyond me. Since Video Games are conflict oriented, driven by action, either character's motives should be revealed by actions (as you put it) or they can be simple and satisfying. Usually I would agree with archetypal character concepts when experimenting with a wild story or filled convoluted concepts. In that case it serves as an anchor for the spectator as they slowly get into the story. I don't think that they are a weak crutch, I just think that the writers simply don't have a concept of how to write for games. They are pressed by matters of gameplay and the main story, which doesn't leave much time for character development with sufficient impact to be entertaining. My guess is that they are pursuing that impact a little too much in crpg's, simply put: they are trying too hard to make us care for their characters. The problem with RPG's characters is that they are solely dependent on the player's actions, which are either done in approval or disapproval. Plus a lot them come to embody a worldview which the player may be trying to role play (good/evil). Aside from those axioms of character development the writer is free to make them as they want and they usually go for the high emotional impact. Problem is that there aren't many devices to cause it, so they fall back to the overused. Which they often present through the usual sidequest/story which you have to solve and mold the character as you wish.
  21. I don't know American celebrities
  22. I believe the mention of Piers Morgan marks this as more wishful thinking then sarcasm... I don't know British celebrities
