Wouldn't it be nice to live in a world where we didn't notice that development companies offered options for straight and gay players? It would just be as normal as choosing to play male or female. That's the level of progression I want all companies and people to get to, a level where we don't comment at all about this topic as its so common. I only noticed because its a bit out of sorts and irrelevant to the subject, like if I ended this post by saying that all my enemies who are pedophiles will try to rape my children.

I feel they had simply acknowledge your actions in previous games even though they completely retcon them, that may have been more polite than disregarding them because you want to write a linear story that pretends to give choices. They could had brought back Leliana with a big scar on her neck which when you ask her about tells you what happened, if anything it should had been little funny. Also, what Tale said.

Why is it that Gaider has to turn everything into a crusade for gay rights? On the subject: they have been doing this since BG, they establish a canon story which is the one that a carries over to the next game. My problem in particular with the DA canon is that it has become so bloated with webcomics, books, movies and even that darn webseries with Felicia Day that every iteration I have to learn of a bunch of stuff that happened. Plus they aren't very informative about it. Also, why the hell they can bend the canon to include every crappy thing done by somebody on the internet but they can't give you a simple back story to corroborate what you did.

With rape the victim has to live with the event so they suffer for much longer than with murder. Or they may take a cavalier attitude towards it and just get on with their life. I find it funny how everyone assumes that a rape victim is left a frail, traumatized, little thing. I met rape victims, some of them are really close to me and I got to tell if they didn't mention it I would have never known. I get this subject is not for everyone but I find no reason why it should be kept out of games, specially since it has gone on for a while now without controversy. Besides that's why we have the ESBR, they could just add a sexual violence tag to the game and you know whether this game is for you or not.

I dunno, man. Can you imagine taking that face to dinner? I'm having fight down the urge to leap nervously away from the keyboard just meeting her stare. Don't get me wrong. I'm as prone to falling for ice queens as the next man. But I'm damned if I'll do it in my imagination. They don't shy away from confrontation, which I love and if they have wit then I'm instantly in love. -

The thing about them using the Frostbite engine that gives me hope its that a lot of the issues that I had with DA2 stemmed from a lack of ambiance. In DA:O the big empty spaces were populated with static meshes that that added to the feel of the place. But design direction in DA2 removed all that for some reason, the lighting and level design also failed to immerse, I never felt that Kirkwall was a real city. With Frostbite even if they drop the ball a little with level design choices, at the very least the engine can pick up the slack a bit. So I expect that DA:I will look amazing or that it will have a lot of foggy, dark areas where they don't want you to look too closely.

Considering that they licensed Frostbite for this game (The Battlefield 3 Engine) there is no reason why this game shouldn't look freaking amazing. So hopefully, the level design won't be DA2 bad.

Japanese SEGA games which have been localized and released in the west are actually not bad... Think Yakuza, Binary Domain, Resonance of Fate, etc etc... They still need to better manage their western developed releases though... Colonial Marines speak enough for all these games... The only problem I see now, is that it is possible that even less japanese games will be localized after this buyout Which would be big shame and disappointment, if that will be the case... I wouldn't be surprise especially since there is a small market for japanese game on the west and japanese developers seem completely unaware of pc as a platform.

I'm currently finishing a 3 year degree on Game Arts and I have specialized as a character modeller. I was wondering what the devs over at Obsidian wanted to see from a character modeller? What kind of level of quality would he/she need in order to land a job at Obsidian?

I seen a few documentaries that have touched upon the subject of male escorts, though none has gone into detail on what women want from escorts they usually give the same reasons. They solicit escorts because of work and time constrains, curiously they seem more interested in the dating aspect of it rather than just sexual release. A few of the escorts interviewed compared themselves to therapist since a big part of the job is listening to women.

It's ok, she played one of the most archetypal characters in DA (it's right there in the name: Morrigan) which somehow got reduced to being a pouty, awkward, teenager with social problems. Way to go character development!
