I'm kind of dreading the return of some characters because of ME actually, even though I know they are separate teams I cannot help but feel a little discomfort. Seems like the ME series took everything that the plot of ME1 did right and spent the rest destroying it while calling it character development. Hopefully that won't be the case in DA, kind of wishing that they keep changing the cast in order to avoid this.

I'm looking to...get lucky as much as possible, not wake up in piss and vomit next to a cow. Kids these days... in my days we took drunkenness seriously.

Sodomy means all sexual acts that don't aim to procreation. Which is thing that many people forget when they shout their bible references. I'm pretty sure some people had the intent to procreate when committing sodomy laws, however... Humans and elves, asari and everything else. I don't know how much biology they knew back in the Middle Ages but babies don't come out of a poop chute no matter what you shove in there. At some point it must have become evident. Unless you're Irish sodomy meant unnatural sex for pleasure.

@Woldan: Casually (by which I mean by myself) just exercises that target joints, it helps with arthritis related pain. Although I have been looking into getting into it but right now might not be the best time for me. Also, kudos on the mountain cycling its not just the rocky terrain its the altitude and low oxygen. That's probably one of the most difficult cardio workouts there is. @Kaine: If what you are looking for is to get so drunk that you have a memorable adventure like in the hangover then you can just run around with your underwear on your head, barf and wake up nude next to a hobo. That's the kind of real adventures you have when you're drunk, why do you think Wals lives on the country with no farm animals?

But being politically correct is no longer cool, so it all evens out.

I've been doing forced reps for 8 years now, according to my cardiologist I visited a year ago my heart is big and working flawlessly. IMO mountain cycling is much MUCH harder on my system than any strength exercise so I'm really not concerned about damaging my heart with a couple of heavy forced dumbbell reps. (But I guess you can damage your heart if you take roids and bench press cars) Good thing too, overworking due to steroids is a problem as well as bad steroids. Also, you do mountain cycling?
-
Needs more benchpresses and squats, also be careful with forced reps you can get a lot of gains but on the long term they tend to overwork your system aka heart failure.

I'm still holding my breath on their promise that they will allow the player to take fortresses, it's incredible how little these videos actually reveal about the game. That said, the level design seems to be a step up from the previous entries in the series.

Hmm, let's see: Yes Drudanae, I believe it does mean that. Fetish != complex Edit: Nice looking artwork

This kiddies is a red herring, where the poster purposely ignores the main point in his/her response and starts to wax poetic about something completely irrelevant in order to support his post. We are arguing Dragon Age Vol, not Baldur's Gate.

You sold me on it.

I could beat the game (easily, mind you, far easier than any other make-up) with four mages. I thought that there were only 3 possible mages? Although you can beat the game with only 2 easily, let alone 3. Hell with Arcane Warrior, mages were better fighters than Warriors. Bio really screwed the pooch with balance there. I let that slide because it ties with the in game concern people show with mages being dangerous. I'd say that what made warriors redundant was their inefficiency at controlling aggro, warriors were poorly done in DA:O.

Truly the words of a Bioware's fan.

I get the feeling that if the Dragon Age franchise continues on its going to turn into Highlander at some point

I don't know what you're talking about, I'm having a great chat with this here floating eye intestine that's been following me around since yesterday.

The (hopefully) attractive women thread.

Great sculpt (fingers a little too long) I must confess that I've spent so much time sculpting that now one of the attributes I look for in a girl is good topology. Show us your wireframe ladies!- 610 replies

They did, it just wasn't typically from the same person (typically they were cross-class combos). I remember setting up Merrill to use chain lightning on any target that suffered from a particular condition, since I specc'd her ability to do bonus damage against people suffering from that ailment. Those were cross-class combos, differently named than spell combos which involved combining 2 or 3 spells into another one and could only be done with mages on DA:O. Example: Freezing an enemy and using a smash type of attack with a warrior will result in massive damage or death unless the enemy passes a check that's a cross class, using Grease and a Fire type spell (not necessarily from the same person)that resulted in a Grease Fire was a a spell combo. Which meant that with prior knowledge you could build your mages abilites so that they complimented each other with combos. But "build" was apparently a dirty word around the DA2 team since they COD crowd doesn't believe on min maxing.

I found DA2 combat bothersome because at earlier levels there isn't enough abilities to actually have a strategy and they don't mesh well with the companion's.So it's just like dao in that sense? Yep Edit: Worth pointing out that DA2 didn't have spell combos.

I found DA2 combat bothersome because at earlier levels there isn't enough abilities to actually have a strategy and they don't mesh well with the companion's. At higher levels this become less of a problem, but since abilities are mostly wasted fighting the first wave of enemies you are left waiting for the cooldowns. In the end classes in DA are restrictive and there isn't much potential for teamwork. I didn't really found myself overly thinking about strategy on DA2, it was mostly aiming an AOE, moving players around and the occasional potion. Its good that you had fun with the combat but I wouldn't go so far as to call it deep.

Don't give up on drinking yet, you're still not at rock bottom.

I think I will use that quote when trying to explain idiot-proofing.

Whenever you think of a solution that involves optimizing or developing a different mechanic for PC remember that publishers don't care about PC ports and they are not likely to waste money on it. Probably, the reasons why they still do is because its inexpensive and can get them a few more bucks, and so the game gets pirated and they have something to blame low sales.

People who aren't willing to work on something do not deserve the rewards. Also, I stuck a monolith next to the target audience and they threw a bone into the air that turned into a spaceship. They're primates.

But that's just it, DA2 is not an action game or if it is then its a very bad one. Action games require a certain amount of skill and in the cases of action/rpg a bit of strategy, with DA2 it was just the same combat design from an isometric game but even more simplified, animated at a high speed and with more particle effects.
