  1. Today I made a mutator for Unreal Tournament in class and got a chance to play it for a while. I had forgotten what it felt like playing a fun shooter (Shadow Warrior was last year).
  2. Ultimately its Ubisoft's product, someone made the choice to go with Nvidia so it falls on their shoulders. I like Nvidia's concept of creating graphic libraries for game developers but they could be less blatant about trying to monopolize the market.
  3. David Cage. I had a horrible nightmare about Ellen Page today, no joke.
  4. I really like the whole courtroom drama series in a comic book thing, its a refreshing change from the usual serious nonsense.
  5. You're telling me that the wife of the man they call "the leader of the Free World" has no better recourse than to launch a Twitter campaign. Its not cynical to doubt the veracity of their sentiment when a lot the decision they made resulted in the deaths of innocents. So I find it difficult to see it as anything more than a calculated political move, specially when all they've done is the bare minimum, which is to acknowledge the problem. What happened to the war on terrorism? Or are Boko Haram just "freedom fighters"? No Boko Haram are considered hard core Islamic fundamentalists. There are several groups like this is Africa, another one is Al-Shebaab in Somalia who are committing terrorist attacks in Kenya But no Western country will just send troops into any African country unless they are invited or the UN backs a security mission, those days are long gone because of the fallout if something goes wrong, like Iraq. Western countries now work in partnership with African countries or they don't get involved at all. This is the correct and reasonable course of military action. So the Americans are doing what they can do in Nigeria and its a lot more than most other countries have done. Lets give them some credit and be supportive I thought the UN was pulling out of Nigeria this year? Has there been talks to get the US to stabilize the region? Because considering their history that might actually be a good thing.
  6. I find it ironic that the guy who writes for DC who has more rapes than characters and a woman literally on a refrigerator is trying to rip on Marvel because of misogyny. I guess he's an opinionated **** who knows which side his bread is buttered on.

  8. i think its utterly reprehensible that during this particular crisis for these young girls people are spreading anti-American propaganda I think its utterly reprehensible that during this crisis America is spreading propaganda.
  9. Maybe if we don't move this move can't see us.
  10. Steven Spielberg is Michael Bay with better storytelling and now it seems that he's going the way of George Lucas. Make something new already!!
  11. It took me awhile, but I found it streaming on Hulu. I'm watching it now. Best movie I've seen where nothing happens and people just sit and talk. Yep, although I get the feeling it would work better as a theater piece.
  12. Doesn't the bible say we're made in His image, though? We didn't anthro him. He deified us. It#s probbaly why He gets so riled when we act like ****. If we're starting to get all theological then I'd like to point out that there are different speculations about the nature of God. It could be that the Universe is more like the panentheistic(I wrote that right) religions and God is a representation of what makes the Universe work or as encapsulating the whole Universe. So it could be that God is us and how we behave in turn affects God(who is us). On a related note omniscience might be constrained to all that there is within the Universe meaning that God knowledge is limited to all the information contained in the Universe.
  13. I always though she was a Buddhist.
  14. Not only that, you can just cruise around while listening to Manowar, Anvil, and Budgie. It's like GTA 4. There's a lot I can't stand about that game, but cruising around and listening to Radio Vladivostok is the best. Keyrock, cousin. Wanna go bowling?
  15. There is a lot of wasted effort when working with multiple studios, simply because of reworking that has to be done to fit work someone else has done. Which might not had been a problem had the work been handled in the same studio. Anyways, predictions for the future; Will the big companies try to do more consoles or will they come begging to PC?
  16. hmmm. hate to do this, but seems necessary. your reasoning were used quite frequently as an excuse to prolong the disparate treatment o' blacks and asians and other minority groups in this country. You are supposing that my idea is prescriptive, when in fact I think it is descriptive. I'm not making a value judgement. I'm making an observation. so was aristotle and shockley. they would say that they weren't making value judgments. they were wrong, of course. additionally, Gromnir is also simply making an observation. am thinking it would be silly to claim that there is no differences 'tween men and women. ursula believes there is significant innate differences. our observation is that the folks using observation o' society to then make conclusions 'bout innate qualities o' sexes or races or whatever, has frequent been wrong. we is observing the failure of reasoning when applied by folks who were the most brilliant minds o' their time... but perhaps decado knows something they didn't? HA! Good Fun! I'm going to go on Gromnir side here and agree that social science tend to lean towards the subjective. Unless I've misunderstood Decado or that he can back up his statments with facts(Considering his field study I believe him capable of doing it). I would say that the difference in female and male behavior is a social one and not a biological one, although i'm not discrediting that biology might be a factor. But society more than jails the animal, it tames it so I believe it takes precedence.
  17. Maybe the cheaper labor, but if scheduling theory taught me anything is that every project has a minimum completion time after which no matter how many people/resources you throw at it, it won't go lower.
  18. No Monte despite what you think and how you see yourself when I raise issues of social justice its not about me at all. I am a white, heterosexual male. My life is great and I generally don't get discriminated against Well, we don't take kindly to your types around here.
  19. A lot of Slavic people have Asian features. While the Slavic peoples originated in Eastern Europe, they spread pretty deep into Asia and there's obviously been a lot of interbreeding. At what percentage does one stop being Slavic and starts being Asian, I'm not certain. Flat, broad faces are usually a hallmark of Mongoloid races and yes Slavics sometimes tend to look Asian(as they are). Maybe the character is the bastard child of a Russian soldier? @Drowsy: Prove it! I want to see your best squatting.
  20. Dear god, I hope we don't get Marty MacWhite as a protagonist again.
  21. Not really, I can voice facts with an impersonal tone which focuses on the issue rather than on the ethnic group. However someone may interpret that is up to them, I know myself. The problem is the refusal to even admit to an issue sometimes because of race; unless the race committing the crime is white people who have become synonymous with the establishment. A relevant example to the thread would be saying that feminism's failure to quell its fringe elements has resulted in it being perceived as a movement of hysterical women. In itself not really an accusatory statement but when presented to some people they tend to get defensive.
  22. Gromnir I'll tell you something interesting and true. In life you don't need to know any minority group or person being discriminated against in order to feel empathy. All you need to do is ask yourself " how would I like to be treated like that" If the answer is " no I wouldn't like that" then I can guarantee you the minority group also wouldn't like it For example, how would you feel if a group of people refused to allow you into a restaurant with your family or partner because of the color of your skin? They gave no other reason except for " no your type aren't welcome here". How would you feel...hurt ...embarrassed...humiliated....? This are the types of emotionas that people who are discriminated against feel and I'm sure you agree this wouldn't be a nice experience yet I doubt you have ever been stopped going into a restaurant because of the color of your skin? Institutional segregation tends to look like that, individual has more of a personal touch. There is often a few specific reason that are called upon when people try to justify their hate or rationalize it. The sad part is when it becomes hard to argue against it. My point is that people have different experiences regarding races and stereotypes and in homogeneous cultures they usually tend to be limited to a small sample. So while you might think of a normal person of African or Indian descent others might first recall the gangbanger who wore his pants below his underwear, spat when he spoke and was generally just a ****ty human being. I agree that promoting diversity helps avert this problem by increasing the sample size, but I dislike the notion that mentioning certain facts are dismissed as racist, homophobic, or misogynist simply because they are of an antagonistic nature.
  23. Is it just me or does that "white man" has distinct Mongolian features?
