  1. The power dynamics on those types of relationship are skewed yes, just because they are susceptible to become abusive doesn't mean that they inherently are. If I hold public office and award contracts to a company I have significant shares in ... that may not be corrupt. It may be the best contractor. But you can't seriously suggest it should be accepted. That's not a good example since that's pretty much the common practice around here, and it doesn't seem to bother no one except militants with cattle.
  2. Volo, you wouldn't know organic even if you learnt how to spell it.
  3. From an unemployed 3D artist standpoint, are you hiring? People like them, is really just that. Bethesda and Rockstar have made them popular and it feels more organic than a linear game.
  4. Yeah, CI is king. You can have (reasonably) low AP/turn but you don't want to sacrifice CI for any other stat. On Supreme Jerk you practically have to have 20 CI on every team member thus totally gimping your party in everything non-combat. Which is the main reason why I play on Ranger. Is a bit unbalanced and more of that good old school RPG crap where you and your party seem to be the ones living on the world. Everyone else somehow manages to exist without interaction. Like how your party of adventurers somehow always manages to find a bunch enemies that made into the same dungeon level but are somehow fresh and ready to fight. We are obviously playing by different rules the enemies and I.
  5. One of the big ****ing flaws in the game seem to be with the enemy's stats. Everyone and their mother have more initiative than you and can walk from one end of the map to the other just to be next to you. Not hyperbole, I've seen enemies do that.
  6. Laconia sends its regards and says: "TL;DR"

  8. It opens all kinds of question and doubts about preferential treatment, which exists but can't be proven. However a sexual relation can be proof of it, so the company may be vulnerable to legal actions due to it. EG: disgruntled worker cites boss employee relationships as cause of their lack of promotion and seeks reparations.
  9. I did Does the game acknowledges or is the same "You sided with these people" even though you murdered them all afterwards?
  10. Just throwing this question, can I kill everyone at Titan Canyon?
  11. Video games should do whatever the hell they want. I disagree. This is a business, they are trying to sell a product. They should do whatever their consumers want. Indie developers have a lot more leeway, but they still have to think is terms of marketability at some point. Otherwise making games is just a hobby. Consumers are fickle and ignorant of the realities of development. Quality development with target demographic on mind and customer satisfaction, that's the way to go.
  12. Now wait a minute! She brings up valid points like beating up women is bad and games should not condone violence, issues I had hitherto been thoroughly confused on. You mean when she goes out of her way to beat up women in games, to prove a point? Is like accusing a toy maker of perverting the minds of children just because you stuck a doll up your rectum.(Not specifically you though)
  13. e.g. I didn't bump up awareness for my sniper. Two shotgunners. No one has toaster repair. Does it hurt knowing that Assault rifles are the best weapons ever?
  14. You obviously don't know about mods.
  15. Ahh, romance by the fireplace. Good to see BW influence spreading, among other things.
  16. Everyone shut up and follow the almighty Marker.
  17. Looks at avatar, seems familiar. Meh. Welcome back and good luck with your Tourettes, I hope you can be happy together. On the subject of Tourettes; the comedians have raised a good question: Why isn't there a nice version of Tourettes that just makes you say nice things?
  18. I thought that the TFYC requirement was that you identify before entering the contest, IIRC they actually received question about anonymity from transgendered that didn't want to be outed.
  19. I love the goats on this game, wish I could drag one all over the wasteland.
  20. It is difficult not to be involved in politics, because many see not taking political stance as silent support for status quo. And video games have been part of several political issues and it rises such time and time again. So one could argue that games media that don't cover political issues don't do their job as good as they should. But I would also say that games media should look political issues from every point of view even when issues is banning/censuring/etc. things that are generally seen as bad thing by industry, consumers and gaming media themselves, because it is media's job to educate people about issues as comprehensively as they can. So media should not support single political view or be silent about political views, but instead cover all political views that they can cover. Addition to other things that they cover. But sadly main thing that gaming media does these days is to work as additional advertisement venue for gaming companies and even more sad is that seems to be what majority of readers of gaming media want (by looking most read articles in big gaming media pages). So one could say that biggest enemy for consumers are actually consumers themselves They are turtles that want to fly, gaming media is about gaming. Fluff for the sake of the writer rather than the audience, worse is that they are so obtuse that they have to look outside the industry for issues. Shows how much they know about what goes on or what should be considered problematic.
  21. The failing is not with the journalists, is with the editors that allowed their sites to become involved in politics. We are learning that this isn't just in game journalism, but other kinds.
  22. True, but how is this applicable to having an option to play as a male or female? You already read the answer to this question, when you read Shallow's post.
  23. @Bruce: A diluted drink will never compete with a strong one.
  24. Would you rather have a more inclusive game of lower quality or a higher quality one that's less inclusive? I like how all the people calling for inclusive games aren't the ones making them or financing them or doing something remotely to fix the problem. Too much talking without a plan of action, just ramblings. I don't want games to be more inclusive, I want them to be diverse.
