  1. I'm not sure that it works exactly like that, since clearly you will have repeat offenders among the males. I am pretty surprised how quick some of you are to deny that this is a real problem, considering you all spend a lot of time on the internet. There is a tremendous amount of disturbing bleep out there. Have you ever been to a club where a girl is way too intoxicated? I've seen groups of men move in like moths to a flame, and I can tell you, they aren't going over to her to be gentlemen. I guess it is somewhat refreshing that so many of you doubt these numbers, because maybe that means you all are good guys who treat women respectfully. That's important. But that also means we should believe women when they say they have been assaulted. I have to concur with Hurlshot when it comes to scale. I'm lucky enough to know some pretty strong women, and one of the most awful things I learned as we became friends is how many had been forced (or intimidated using force) into sexual activity. I reject the notion that most men think rape is OK. But this isn't like marriage. One male who is either ignorant or just doesn't care can affect multiple women. The more they do it, and don't get caught or otherwise stopped, the more they think it's OK, and the more they do it. Try also to imagine what rape is like to the victim. I'm not sure you can. I'm extremely fortunate in that I have been threatened with rape and got out of it (a foreign policeman, but that's another story). I'm not a weak person, but when I realised it was on the cards I got within a millimetre of going completely to pieces. It was absolutely bloody awful. 100 times worse than knowing you're going to get a beating. First timers, :sighs: Wait, what? After a while you sort of tune it out or it doesn't bother you that much.

  3. You should totally tell that to the creator.
  4. Funny, I fully expect that 200 years from now Nintendo will still be making Mario games...and Zelda games.
  5. I think we already have games that stand the test of time, Tetris being the one that pops to mind. The problem is that most people saying that games are art are doing it because of the visuals or the story, is never about the rules and mechanics; you know, the game bits.
  6. Aye, I guess a lot of grief could be avoided in these discussions if you dirty feminists could just use a terminology that's not so damn inflammatory / you ignorant twats would just look up what people actually mean by using words that have very specific meanings in the specific context they're mentioned. (Everyone feel free to pick one according to the tribe they feel like belonging to). Can we be the Obsidian tribe? I really don't like the other people on the web.
  7. Why do I have the nagging feeling that neither of you have read the article in question? Of course I have. Rich celebrities get even away with murder from time to time. I have still not met a guy or a group that jokes about rape, blames the victim and pat each other on the back about it. But of course i mingle with industry professionals, not the entertainment industry. And they haven't invited you to their "Rapey,Rapey, fun-time club"? Shows how much they think of you.
  8. "But it's deeper than that. We live in a society where even the most ordinary and anonymous of accused rapists is offered the benefit of social and legal doubt" I guess nature wills out; how can you expect me to take this man seriously when he is making dangerous statements such as this?
  9. I took a massive modern art just yesterday, should had taken pictures before flushing it.
  10. A quick primer to redpill. I might need brain bleach now, thank you very much. What a load of bollocks, author sounds like a teenage wanna be lover scorned. Also, that's not redpilling; is essentially any information that's paradigm shifting like the red pill on the matrix it will change your reality. Does that really need explaining?
  11. I like how you expertly avoid giving anything resembling an answer to my question. I mean, I'm trying to have a discussion here, but the sheer amount of bad faith arguments and condescending bull**** is making it really hard to engage with the problem in any way, shape, or form. Oh this is amusing from you. Good to see people realizing how full of it Bruce is at last, heh. Silly that people focus on that of all things, his choice of clothing. You need to understand that a man cannot wear a shirt like that but a woman can wear the equivalent because we live under patriarchy.
  12. Well, I've been on the Internet far too long. I need to go out to the real world and see people other than feminists, otherwise i'm likely to start hating women.
  13. Simply based on the quality of this season and the game related content, I'd say that Trent and Matt should do a sequel to the South Park game. It is the best season that they had in a while.
  14. Maybe they couldn't. It's people who write stories, not companies. AFAIK most if not all of BG2 story was written by Lukas Kristjanson. For DA:O he wrote "Leliana's Song" DLC (a nice but very short module) and he also co-authored "A Paragon of Her Kind" quest. Which is probably why Orzammar subplot is considered the strongest part of the game story-wise. P.S. Notably, almost nobody has heard of Kristjanson but everyone knows Hepler and Gaider. It seems that the ability to troll the community doesn't necessarily coincide with writing talent. Interesting about Lukas. He's senior writer now on DAI. We'll see if he's still got it soon enough Interesting thing about the romance footage, is the most cringy thing that I ever seen. Who wrote that?
  15. Considering that they made the statement that "FarCry 4 will run the same on PC and consoles on Ultra", yes I believe that's to be expected. At the very least we can hold hope since Farcry doesn't have a crowd generator. Ubisoft is really trying hard to be the worst company of this year, guess that's why Jade jumped ship. @Drowsy Emperor: as long as they're not Diablo III clones then they have my support.
  16. Metacritic with a different name? My first thought exactly, with any luck they will figure out an algorithm that accounts for blinding rage when reviewing. Something like : if (score == 0 && spellcheck_errors < 10 && profanities < 10) { actualscore = spellcheck_errors + profanities + score };
  17. They could have done the same thing that in DA:O where Denerim was just a few locations which you could access via a minimap.
  18. Yeah because only difference of genders in 15th century europe were the moves xD You say that but have you ever seen sword strikes clipping through jiggly boobs...it ain't pretty.
