  1. Aye, quite amazing stuff. Since we're discussing Celts, here's his version of Boudicca : Maybe not pactical as armor, but it is absolutely lovely in terms of visual design. I dunno about the slits up the leg, however. Why not just a full kilt? Well, to be fair, compared to the Gaulish Gaesatae, who fought completely naked, I'd consider that fairly practical

  3. I'll happily extend this plea towards polearms in general. Fine video, too. Halberds : And pollaxes please :
  4. It has been posted before in this thread, but in a much smaller version : No need for spikes or gigantic shoulderpads
  5. Have to say, when I read of Black Prince in his namesake black armor, I was thinking a lot less rainbow like appearance. Black plate armour looks truly amazing, I wish we could use it in PE. Case in point :
  6. Found a version which corrects this mistake; it's pretty nice overall I must say - the bow's much better as well and the armour looks neat. Even though I find it very odd. It has the same problems that basically every fantasy armour has. It doesn't know what to do with the legs. It's always a weird skirt-leggings-combination. I don't think that's a skirt/kilt. I think it's just the lower part of the cuirass. Indeed, it's the lower part of the scale chest armour. As for the legs - there's just greaves attached to the long boots; which I assume make sense if you need very good mobility.

  8. Well, so far we've only got this : source : http://forums.obsidi...60#entry1237009 They're still in the process of pre-production, so there's a chance they might announce it later on.
  9. Wheel locks were usually quite pretty : I'd imagine those would be quite handy if you wanted to pistol whip someone as well
  10. Yeah, I just mentioned it because it's a popular theme. Do they have to follow it? Not really. Same mixture could, for an instance, lead the humanity towards extinction.
  11. While we certainly won't see this level of detail in the game, here's a little work of art I thought I'd share :
  12. No, but we're graced with that particular strawman every once in a while
  13. Goblins aren't usually known for ingenuity, however (unlike the humans). It's usually the explosive mixture of a short life span, ambition and intellect. That theme is extremely common, but there's definitely something to it.
  14. Wearing the pelts of big cats and other large predators over sophisticated armor was fairly common in real life too, even during the Late Medieval/Early Modern period (which is the period that P.E. supposedly is based on/inspired by). At least in Eastern Europe and Western Asia. Aye, but that particular white lion cloak might just be a bit too heavy to actually wear in combat I'm hoping it's a silmarily common practice in the world of PE; as I've mentioned, I really like this sort of a contrast.
  15. Usually this can only be "interesting" by giving humans the center stage, for which no convincing reason is given (humans are great diplomats! Noone can dislike the pink little buggers! All other species are too self-centered!) A common theme is the relative short life expectancy of humans - and there certainly is something to it. In any case, there's a wealth of intriguing issues to explore.
  16. Are humans boring in a fantasy setting? On the contrary, in my opinion they're particularly interesting; how would the human society evolve in a world full of magic? How would they treat other races/be treated by other races? How would the roles within the society change? etc. In fact, that topic alone is quite often the sole theme of sci-fi works.
  17. What if we had this many equippable slots? And voilà, after a couple of hours of equipping all of this, here's the final result! You could probably create a stand-alone game out of the whole process of equipping a knight
  18. I agree, that'd be a bit too much I'd be fine with 4 or 5 armour slots myself (the standard). And keeping with the theme of fantasy designs, I present to you the White Lions of Chrace : What I like about this particular design is the contrast between the very ornate and sophisticated armour (particularly the gemmed cuirass) and the cloak fashioned from a lion's skin, which gives it a more tribal feel. I'd assume it'd be heavy as hell though. But such is the price of looking menacing Oh, and I really like plumed helmets.
