  2. Well, I've had two bugs now, after perhaps.. 15 hours of playtime. One where a body fell through the undergrowth (but was still lootable) and one where I was trying to enter a house, but took the turn too sharply, ran into the doorpost and suddenly ended up on the roof! It was very confusing and comical. It wasn't a problem though as you can climb in Risen (yay!), but I haven't been able to replicate the bug. Otherwise it would be a perfect escape route for when you're being chased in town!

Is Komisarek always getting penalized this much? I mean, as much as we need grit and physicality, it doesn't work if whenever he's out on the ice, the opponents get a powerplay and they score. Happened two times in the last game and once tonight.
  5. You mean, like you and your ginormous game collection?
  6. Well, I am having a great time with it. I joined the bandits, solved their petty camp problems and have now headed out to the harbour town. It's a really difficult game! The traders really do not have ANY gold, so you can't get rich from picking everything up and selling it. You only trade with the traders, as in item for item. This is initially a problem as learning skills cost from 100-300 gold and you usually get like 30 gold as quest rewards. Also, a common wolf is more than likely to kick your butt, repeatedly, in the beginning. I was actually getting a little frustrated myself there for a while, until I followed the "main path" (the story the developers want you to follow) where I found "hungry wolf" instead of "wolf", which essentially means half-a-wolf. But the world is wonderfully crafted again, there's a myriad of quests everywhere, the character development system is very satisfying (you really feel yourself becoming more and more powerful) and I even like the combat now. It's action, sure, but it's some kind of tactical action. Like, when you fight this weird bird that hops around everywhere, you need to press the action all the time, preferably against a cliff wall or something. They constantly back away and if you let them back away far enough they come swooping down on you, slashing your shield aside, leaving you vulnerable. If you press the action, they have no time to swoop and you'll beat them in no time. Another example is when you fight a boar. They are really powerful and each hit from them stuns you for a second, even when blocked. So the trick is to keep your shield up and back away as the boar rushes you. It will then miss his attack (swing his trout in midair) and you can safely get in one or two hits while the boar is off balance. Then you repeat until the boar becomes a steak in your inventory. When fighting people, I usually keep my shield up at all time and move in really, really close to my opponent. The "lock on" effect will then keep your shield aimed at the enemy and when he slashes at you, he will take one step past you, revealing his side or back, at which point you can get a safe stab in. Otherwise they block like 95% of your slashes. One last thing worth of note: the game has crashed on me once. This is exceptionally good for a Piranha Bytes game! Also, I have not seen any bugs except that one enemy's body fell through the ground when he was killed by my gang of seven angry bandits (great quest, total chaos :D) and the voice acting is really good. I've not gotten very far in the story, but it has piqued my interest.. it's just that there's always so much to do that I never seem to be able to focus on the main story. I will try to snap a few screenshots later. It really is a lovely looking game. Except for the character models. Especially the female character models. And I've been to the brothel, so I should know.
  7. I was wondering about why he criticised the graphics in the Eurogamer review. I think it looks absolutely lovely. Also, it's very smooth. No jerkiness at all and a lot less demanding than Gothic 3. But then I saw this: He reviewed the Xbox 360 version but included the PC version in the review.. The PC version was made by Piranha Bytes while the Xbox 360 version was ported by some unknown company. It shows!
  8. Woohoo! I just got back from my lunch break and the game is lying on my desk next to me, shimmering in a mysterious light.. well, almost. Only four hours until I can go home and install it. I CAN DO EET
  9. Yeah, the comments section doesn't seem to happy about it either. I don't really care, it's just an opinion.
  10. Eurogamer's review is in: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/risen-review?page=1 Oops, 4/10. Not too bothered though. The things he complains about are actually things I enjoy, like the lack of quest arrows and the way you actually need trainers to train your skills and maps that aren't automatically in your inventory from the start.
  11. My pre-order screwed up so I'm running downtown on my lunch break to buy it today. And yes, I am jealous. Any why has Webhallen become so sucky? They used to be good, cheap and reliable. Now they're just cheap.

"Honest, judge, this six year old girl said she wanted to have sex with me!" "Oh ok then, no rape. You're free to go. Statutory rape is for cowards!" A brick suddenly seems intelligent. In comparison.

When will the Leafs realize that Toskala just isn't good enough to be a starter? How many seasons do they need? Especially now when they have a young, hungry goalie waiting to make his mark in the NHL! God, it's annoying.
  14. Yeah, you'd have to actually be able to use GfWL to get those. Too bad it has DRM, huh?
  15. So buy it. What's the worst that could happen? You lose $2?
  16. I went to the gym instead today.. I might do some of these when I get back home though. Going to a friend to play some crappy Wii game.
  17. So you own all those games also? Gee, what a surprise.. You must be Estonia's richest resident.

I love how people get so hung up about "The Age ©". It's just an arbitrary number. Some people are mature enough to have consensual sex when they are 13, most people are not. Not that it matters in this case; the girl was raped.
  19. I stopped watching any CSI when they introduced malnourished models in skimpy outfits and full make-up as crime detectives. They're trying sooo hard to look serious and intellectual, but can barely pronounce the most common terms right. Ridiculous. It's a bit annoying because I remember the first season of the regular CSI to be quite good.
  20. Um, you need to tell your hubby to get one of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....ebone%20Systems ..if he's going to have it on at all times. The Asrock averages around 60W, probably less idle. It will still do everything an old computer does, and better. --- I use a quad core CPU and a 4870, and I calculated that my peak would be somewhere around 400W (worst case scenario). ATI GPU's are notoriously bad when it comes to idle power usage so I'd say I average around 200-250W at all times and much more when I am gaming.
  21. So because one mod (FOSE) disables GfWL (since GfWL is made to detect cheats.. not much point having achievements otherwise) temporarily, you deem GfWL to be a nuisance and a buggy piece of crap..? And how do you know that GfWL is what affects your application's stability "at higher resolutions"? I play Fallout 3 at 1920x1080 on my TV. And yes, Fallout 3 is pretty unstable, but my conclusion was that it had something to do with the sound (since my game crashes most often when I enter a building with one of those humming generators nearby).
  22. I had a lot of fun with Mercenaries 2.. but that might just be me. It's a bit buggy.. and unpolished.. But on the upside, whenever you play, some unknown person can jump straight into your game and start killing stuff and blowing up buildings around you That always freaked me out. If you get someone to play it cooperatively with, you're in for a blast. If the other person is a griefer, you're in for an adventure.

In one hour, Mats Sundin is calling a press conference at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. What else could it be except retirement? This makes me sad.
  25. None taken. The picture provided was deliberately cut because this girl is extremely Internet-shy. She barely exist online and she hates when I take pictures of her.
