  1. Finally started this up. It's been fun so far. I've had some accuracy issues early at times. I guess better gear/levels/devotions will solve that later on. I ended up not going with BPM nerfs and just regular CP/BPM because I didn't want to stress too hard about managing Streetfighter bonuses given it's my first time actually trying the kit despite having a good chunk of hours in this game. Is there an easy way to manage Sparkcrackers materials as the game progresses? It seems like you use a lot of them with this build potentially but I don't know how easy they are to mass produce/get more materials for them. It is neat that I am surviving just fine even in a Robe. I will die if I get surrounded and I suspect I'll need more levels and abilities (and BDD) before I rely too much on diving in, but I do have very little trouble surviving against smaller groups of enemies right now, so as long as I don't run out of spells. And escape is nifty for repositioning as well as the deflection bonus and because my recovery is so insane I can usually back out of dangerous situations as needed (or use smoke grenade if I cannot). It's definitely fun to play.
  2. I noticed this using it on Xoti my last run. I think CP limits it to 25 stacks/enemy before you have to release it though, so sadly didn't see any huge spikes like that. But was still pretty devastating.
  3. Some sort of Bilestomper type build Paladin/Wizard build would be cool I think. @Boeroer Like a Pale Elf with Righteous Soul who sits inside Chill Fogs and Venomblooms. Buff up to have high deflection but also be immune to poison effects and resistant to elemental damages.
  4. Do you think it's worth even dropping Resolve a little bit lower than 5? Especially if I use the Berath +2 stat blessing I suppose it might make sense to go all the way to 3 off char creation since the +2 would still put me at 5 base anyways. I know that tanks deflection a little bit but I'd assume it shouldn't be too noticeable with Wael buff + hatchet modal + devotions/debuffs etc. Good call on explosives. Probably does make sense to just all in that if I'm not able to use BB modal.
  5. Half tempted to try the nerfs anyways because I'm a glutton for punishment lol. I suppose if I do end up trying it, I could just lean a little harder into getting flanked/bloodied and using sparkcrackers. I suppose that'd be risky early on like you said. Maybe early on just chill fog would be my best bet until I can more reliably survive getting flanked or bloodied. I had thought about having a character use Squid's Grasp pre combat for the Sparkcrackers to make them hit more reliably but I think that just lowers vs intellect afflictions so not sure it actually would work on Sparkcrackers. If it did, minus 50 would be huge, but I dont think so.
  6. I had Xoti using Mohora Tanga as a Monk in my recent run and she never crashed the game. To be honest though I never used Avenging Storm or Entropy with her so maybe that's why? She definitely got some huge crit chains and was devastating. She carried me through Forgotten Sanctum.
  7. Makes sense. I was thinking of not installing that component for that reason, but was curious if anyone had tried a streetfighter with that enabled. If it's doable and doesn't kill the build I'd consider it, but it sounds like I might be in for a rough time if I do. I know you can eventually get the White Void Helm and Focused Flame Ring to get +20 accuracy to bombs so I was wondering if that might be enough to do alright without the modal. Obviously the helm comes late though.
  8. Sorry to necro an older one here but was thinking of playing your build soon @thelee but also wanted to try BPM. I noticed one of the BPM nerfs makes the Blunderbuss modal just do -10 accuracy instead of distracted. I know I could just not install that part of the component but I'm curious if you think that would much affect this build. Would that change anything in terms of how you'd approach this build? I guess I can just rely on firecrackers and getting flanked/bloodied. Are the wisps (plus distract upgrade) worth thinking about as well? I know in the guide you mentioned mostly using Blunderbuss modal earlier and not relying so much on it late.
  9. Barbarians and Paladins have ways to regain rage/zeal. And any class can regain power source through brilliant (if applied by a Cipher or otherwise) Blood Mage (wizard kit) can regain spells at will. I forget if any other classes have native ways to do it. Probably missing something here.
  10. Imo Ranger is pretty good as well. Ranger/Wizard with Willbreaker + Phantom (or CDT + Phantom) or Saru Sichr + Phantom + Pet (Saru Sichr would unlock extra pet dps via Predator's Sense). Morningstar modal of course helps spells too, and Willbreaker also debuffs will. I specifically like Stalker with this combo for extra tankiness for you + pet. And of course, Ranger gets bonus accuracy which helps spells and Takedown combo can be used to hit very hard with spells if you micro it. I once played a Ranger like this and it was pretty fun and good. edit: I saw @Boeroerliked this post. Boeroer, I believe this was originally your idea for a build. Or at least, I once got inspired because of your ideas around this. Shoulda gave you a shoutout earlier in this post . In any case, can confirm it works well.
  11. Never tried the sneaking route so couldn't say, but you can just talk your way through almost everything. Only required fights are the monks in the basement when you open the loud door and then Kaoto after you drown (or free) the monks in the basement.
  12. On subsequent runs I figured out you could be mostly peaceful and avoid most fights there. My first time through I think I battled my way through and lord was it tough lol. But you can be peaceful mostly and only fight Kaoto and a few of the Monks in the basement
  13. If memory serves the Librarians have nasty offensive abilities but aren't particularly resistant to melee damage. I think on my most recent run I just tried to burn them down quickly before they could bring their nasty offensive abilities to the forefront. Xoti using Mohora Tanga plus Whispers Of The Wind/Heartbeat Drumming really helped clear a lot of those encounters for me. So pretty much what @Fab3686said lol. Wotw + Mohora Tanga is nasty and solves a lot of problems
  14. Lol I hadn't even thought of using Clear Out with a ranged weapon. That's pretty funny. And potentially pretty decent because of high Fighter accuracy.
  15. I always have a lot of trouble using Meteor Shower because the range is so small on it. So usually lazy and just use Missile Salvo. I need to try MS more.
  16. So you would refresh this by repeated castings (would require brilliant or bloodmage) or through Dispersed Suffering (need kills, does dispersed suffering proc off of skeletons?), or through FF spam.
  17. Is there an ideal way to do this? I noticed on my last playthrough where I tried it that keeping them up to date in terms of xp was difficult. There is some sort of formula I think for party members getting xp when they are not in the party but I'm not sure how it works. Whatever they were gaining, they'd still typically be behind a few levels, especially if I hadn't used them in a little while. I'd like to try to rotate people through rather than sticking with the same group. Keeps things fresh, and also lets me use everyone. But is there an ideal way to do this where I won't screw myself, or will I always experience xp issues if I'm rotating people in and out?
  18. Shifter gets tremendous free spells as well. Imo it should still serve primarily as a caster too, as Jayd mentions in his guide. A Shifter (SC or MC) can throw out all the usual powerful Druid spells and then when it's finished shift in and start contributing in melee. Or it can shift to Bear at will to be tankier if pressed. Being unable to cast while shifted is the only major disadvantage but you can just shift back out after you're safe and I really like the free spells it gets. Worth consideration anyways. I think most people hear the kit name and think of it is a melee type Druid but that's not the case and imo like all Druids it should still function as a caster first and foremost, and it excels at that with its awesome free spells.
  19. I think the nice thing about this spell is the massive radius on it. You can just fire it and forget it and it will contribute bonus damage while you chip away the enemy with other dots/abilities.
  20. Wael is a lot of fun for multiclassing. @thelee's Zealot build should still be good even with BPM. Maybe better because even if you installed the nerf package that makes BDD a 12 second 300 pt damage shield which imo would really let you stay heated up for a while without worrying about dying. A 300 pt shield should hold pretty well even if mobbed by a lot of enemies. Sure that's not as good as a flat death resistance, but it does last quite a bit longer and is still quite protective. Actually planning a run right now with it to see how it does with the bpm/cp installed. I will let you know. It's too bad Rymrgand isn't a player kit because Vatnir's kit is so strong since he can take fire spells to go along with his frost spells, giving him a very diverse damage kit. But I suppose you can just bring him along too. I like him well enough, though he's sometimes glass cannony if you just keep him in his robes (but hard not to wear those because of the +dmg effects! )
  21. The obvious thoughts that jump to mind for me are: Fighter/Rogue: Tank. Unbroken/Trickster is fun and has some cool synergies. Terrify enemies and then knock them down with Overbearing Guard. Chanter/Paladin: Obviously. Heralds are very good. Subclasses can be whatever. It should be strong regardless. Druid: Any. I recently did a Shifter/Paladin which was actually a lot of fun. I would cast a few heals/buffs, then cast my aoe dots, and then shift and do lots of single target dps. Flames of Devotion is nice with a Shifter. Can use Ring of Focused Flame and be very accurate. Being able to shift also gives you access to excellent tankiness. Since you can't cast while shifted it's best to think of this character as having a casting phase and a dps/tanking phase. Don't go all in on either, but embrace the versatility and do both. Don't be afraid to shift out when needed to cast, or shift to get tankier etc. Ranger: Any. There are some cool things you can do with Whirling Strikes but Ranger also multiclasses well since any class likes to get more accuracy
  22. Frostseeker is good for AA especially with CP/BPM which iirc fix some of the scaling issues for Arcane Archers. Red Hand (especially for Maia) is always good. Constantine found some nice synergies recently with Whirling strikes. Might not be exactly what you are looking for because it's more used for but he listed out a bunch of weapons in his thread "Ranger & Driving Flight Weapons" which features a bunch of weapons with powerful aoe effects when used with either Swift Flurry (Monk) or Whirling Strikes (Ranger). St Omaku's Mercy is fairly solid and can be gotten pretty early. I've always wondered if that one might be nice for a Geomancer (Blood Mage). It has an upgrade which increases allied attack speed that scales off health lost. Maybe would be good for a char that likes to use Blood Sacrifice to stay bloodied. Not sure how well that particular ability scales - need to test it some time.
  23. Interesting. Never thought to do that. I'll keep that in mind if it ever whoops my butt again lol. This past run I didn't have too awfully hard a time with it. Was still tough and I think I had to rez a party member or two mid fight but I managed.
  24. I guess it's not a single enemy but I always find Maerwald (if you consumed his soul) to be one of the tougher fights. The soul mirrors are annoying, and some of the Maerwald copies are tanky or do nasty abilities. It was many playthroughs ago but I remember the toughest fight I ever had was vs Sissak. I had Galawain's challenge on and iirc his spiders all rolled the ability that gives them regeneration. That was an extremely nasty fight that took everything I had. I am much better at the game now though than I was then so maybe I just played it poorly. Was a while ago so dont remember.
