  1. According to Ars Technica, that bundle is overpriced http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2013/08/do-not-buy-the-1000000-saints-row-iv-bundle/ Pretty sure the difference is in the auto insurance for a gallardo vs. national average (in the US). I suspect they didn't account for VAT in most of their calculations, either.
  2. Having Hawke as a companion with his specs determined by your import would be... ballsy. I'd appreciate it. I suspect we'll never hear of the poor boy/girl again, though.
  3. Slowing down combat.... . That's what the pause is there for, ffs. Apart from that, am entusiastic. And probably required to buy a new pc.
  4. Are you not worried about running into something similar to the Abominable Snowman? I have it on good authority the snowman is terrified of running into Woldan.
  5. It's the planned obsolescence that makes them cheap. Never shall a Samsung enter the Nepenthe household. Meanwhile, dropped my iphone on a stone floor, which was enough to finally wreck the poor abused thing. Happily, i'm crashing at my mother's place post-sinusitis, so it set off my traveler's insurance meaning free replacement. Apart from that, spending the week in Helsinki and setting up enough dates so I can bear the desert of the North for the rest of the year.
  6. Just because people lacking your refinement have dubbed the Aphrodite of Melos "Venus", doesn't make her less Greek. I think this wasan appropiate and fitting 4000th post
  7. I've dated two women from this thread. Running into them in a bar doesn't count as dating Nep. I was expecting "were they aware of it at the time?", so you get points for creativity
  8. I was talking about the structure, mostly, which should qualify as "experimental" for Bio even if you don't view it as ambitious (ie. blame it on the necessity to recycle areas). Personally found what they tried to do with combat ambitious, even if it didn't work out that great, in the end. Still greatly prefer it to the sluggish DAO combat, but... I lost my DA saves when I deleted my xp partition in a hissy late last year, so I'm slowly working at getting my saves back in shape. Slowly being the operative word, since DAO feels like a sluggish grind in a way no game I've ever played (ok, maybe MUDs back in the day) felt.
  9. I said tower, not fade, tower+fade is a good example of not knowing when to finish in time. Maybe not as good as the derp roads, but. While I consider both dragon ages to be flawed, at least da2 tried to be something else than the, at the time, much ridiculed bioware by the numbers. If me3 was bioware at their most arrogant, dao was bio at their least ambitious. Awakening has well-documented, unfixed serious bugs I'm sure you are aware of. If not, you've been luckier than me.
  10. I either get the "you're a player, aren't you?!" and/or "i want you to be the father of my (unborn/existing) children, we should go out on a date sometime" approach, occasionally in the same sentence. I really pull out the crazies. Or it's the whole I've been screwed over so many times I no longer give a **** coupled with the social status being in a respected law firm gives you (if there's such a thing as a respected firm, instead of an expensive one, this one should qualify) Or, a unique happenstance, but a personal favourite: An ex who married another guy (THE ex, I should say) telling me that she chose wrong. The lakes up north (Como, Garda) are pretty sweet, but October's probably a bit late in the year for those. I'd say the same applies to Venice. I think September SHOULD still be ok, but I wouldn't really go elsewhere than Sicily in October or later. Re: choosing US after all: That's why I always wind up going to Europe instead of US, in the end. Meanwhile, my flu went to sinuitis and I've been a sick lil' Nep for the past five days. Now back at work, and really feeling just marginally better. My two week summer holiday's also shrinking fast due to this, I'm now down to next week + the monday after. ****. Happily this time I'm not "losing" the days, I just won't be able to use them before xmas.
  11. DAO = Glory? *laughs hysterically* Someone's allowed nostalgia glasses to tint the derp roads and the Tower, at the very least. Oh, that forest sucked too. And Awakening... still doesn't work? Glory, indeed.
  12. Because in the event of no witnesses, if someone kills someone and can convince others that it was indeed an act of self-defense, SYG applies. And of course the evidence has to support them. I assume the prosecution has burden of proof for it, in which case the evidence shouldn't just be in contradiction.
  13. Ultra sore throat and splitting headache... Need to drag my ass to get some food before I can really pork out on the sofa. Time to engage the hangover glasses in a non-canonical situation and go for it... Oakley black iridium ftw
  14. Mmh, there's the ones who don't want anything or anyone to challenge their self-envisioned rise to the top of the universe. Those have given me a lot of trouble after high school, so, yeah. Lazy people are less likely to sabotage you, because of the effort involved - they'll still do it, just more rarely.
  15. No, no. I see your point. I have a similar viewpoint (Finnish system, our jurists were, and still are, heavily influenced by Germans), I'm just a lot more cynical these days. I joined a country practice some months ago, and I've seen the sort of injustices happen I didn't think possible based on my Big Law/research past.
  16. I dunno, I have a sudden craving for jello. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GcPCHKoYpM
  17. True and it's always cooler being the "boss" rather than being the entourage.. Still, it looks so alluring. Many many years ago I got taken around by a millionaire's son (school connection). I felt like a pirate's parrot. Not cool. I went a school where basically everybody else was filthy rich. So apart from the obvious skiing trips in the Alps nobody even asked me if I wanted to join, I was surrounded by people with the ambition of a marshmallow. I can't stand people without drive. And that's been a connection with all my girlfriends (talking longer term here), they've come from surroundings where hard work and academic achievement is either respected or outright expected. In fact, a statistically important amount of them have been daughters of professional officers... So yeah. I have little respect for the "jet set".
  18. I think you've mostly succeeded in highlighting the differences regarding both self defence and court process between a classic german (and by absorption from Germany, Nordic) legal system and the U.S. one.
  19. I used to get this with Deus Ex and looking for credit chits.
  20. Never seen a guy poke a girl in the shoulder with a cigarette and live to tell of it. But, back on topic:
  21. You make a good comparison but the reality is men are more lecherous and known to be more publicly crude than women. Haha, if you only knew...
