  1. I was going to say something along the lines of "we'll just have to agree to disagree" until I saw your final comment. Now I won't deign you, or any of your comments, with an actual reply.
  2. Alpha Protocol. And that seems to be it. Keeping an eye on the DAO dlc/expansion scene, but so far not too impressed. Wondering if they could put out stuff like Bring Down the Sky for ME2 (or is it going to be of the Warden's Keep variety?)
  3. Stripped down combat mechanics? WTF? Apart from not having any weapon skills, the combat mechanics have been anything but stripped down from ME1, and I certainly wouldn't compare them to that abortion they passed off as a sequel to (another) one of the best games ever made. Sure, ME2 is a bit rock-paper-scissors as somebody already mentioned, but when you compare it to ME1's "point at the target with the Spectre Master Gear Weapon and hold button down until it's dead" combat "mechanics", it's like a bazillion new layers have been added instead of stripping something down. You obviously need to give Invisible War a spin if you're imagining similarities!
  4. I believe it's an ongoing series that should exactly do that - explain the changes in Liara's character. There are a lot of bits and pieces in this game that fondly remind me of Deus Ex - the only thing I can place my finger on right now are the emails and the way they add to the background. Managed to save everybody the first time around. Loyalty quests done with everybody, all NPCs, all Normandy upgrades apart from the medclinic - and picking the right people for the right roles in the end...
  5. I'm not caring much about this and DAO at the moment, so I guess I'll skip it for now - not that it's been released for the PS3, at any rate. I think I kind of burned out on this game, I was sick for five weeks and didn't have much to do (well, I watched a lot of HD reruns of the Deadliest Catch, too). Probably at some point, but I think I'll stick to ME2 for now...
  6. The amount of running the little rationalisation hamster in some people's head has done in this thread is just staggering. Please, people, think of the hamster and accept the fact that by pirating a game, you're ripping off the "evil corporations" that made it and freeloading on the dime of everybody who actually paid for it. If that makes you cool in some subculture, it's not one I've belonged to in a long time.
  7. As Deraldin said, you need 100 ammo to fire. Also, you have to hold the fire button down for quite awhile (about 5-10 seconds). This may sound extreme, but this will pretty much wipe out a room. Probably not the best use of ammo, but it did feel suitably epic. Not too crazy about the changes in the equipment system - I can't help but think that eventual DLC is going to add quite a bit in the way of new guns and armor (and I really hope it does, I was using the basic N7 armor without a helmet and with just the ammo-boosting arm for the whole game, in spite of having access to 3 dlc armors). Also annoyed I missed out on the . There were some really amazing cues on the soundtrack again, but I guess it was shooting for a more subdued overall impression and it didn't work quite as well for me - there were some really good actiony ones in the first game, especially love the eden prime and feros action tracks...
  8. Was good fun, but intensive to the point of being exhausting. Lots of good stuff, love the interrupts, the cinematics are mind-blowing (I was REALLY leery of them based on the trailers) and the final mission is crafted really well - those are the initial impressions. I'll have to let it sink in a bit (clocked in quite a few hours over the past 2,5 days), but the game kind of felt a bit TOO tight, as opposed to "everybody blathers their whole life's story if you just look at their general direction"
  9. You've just described the Finnish concept of romance: holding the head/hair of your love while they puke their guts out. Strangely, I've always been a lot more successful outside Finland.

  11. I meant any class (shepard) can wear any armor, you smart-ass I guess I should have said so. I figured, but considering that people can apparently get confused over anything, I thought it best to clarify.
  12. http://masseffect.bioware.com/universe/arsenal/armor/ As far as I know, there's no requirements. Everybody can wear every armor. Nope. Any Shepard can wear any armor. Squadmates can't use Shep-armor.
  13. It's the char# save. All you have to do is run the ME2 configuration utility and point it to the folder containing your ME1 saves. It'll do the rest. Thanks man. Now all I need to do is figure out how to import my Blood Dragon Armor. http://social.bioware.com/me_user_entitlements.php I hope you don't have to flex too many muscles for that
  14. I'm indifferent, but I bet if it was CD Projekt doing the same thing, you guys would be waxing rhapsodic.
  15. Not this. The codes might have a "best before" date, though. I think my preorder items card had one by the end of this year, or something like that. Can't remember what it was like for the DAO stuff, and as my home computer is currently borked, I won't be the one to check, either
  16. No all-ship orgies - confirmed on the Bio boards Because after all, Shep only has one **** I wouldn't put it past Miranda to add a little something there - the saucy minx.
  17. No all-ship orgies - confirmed on the Bio boards
  18. I work in logistics, so I get really anal about this sort of mess-up. I won't enter into the details of the nightmare that is the UK preorder situation, but let's just say that, no, I won't order it from the UK.
  19. It's about a week, and the length of the delay has not been specified. Considering that similar problems resulted in DAO CE's getting lost in the shuffle, I have little doubts that Finland, the final frontier, won't be among the first few countries to get new printings of stuff and might well be in the "did we say a week? We meant a week after Return to Ostagar gets released on the PS3, or Hell freezes over, whichever happens second" territory. I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that the Hammerhead won't be of use until later DLC. Like I said, I'm not throwing a fit over this because it's an isolated incident, but because I'm getting hit by the same thing twice in ~2 months.
  20. I just got the mail that my pre-order of ME2 CE is going to be delayed "by about a week" due to a printing error with the collector's editions. Considering that I just went through this with the PS3 CE of DAO, I'm now a) spitting mad b) convinced that lightning doesn't strike twice, and somebody actually is incompetent c) probably switching my preorder to a regular edition. Hmpf.
  21. Still is like that, people have just given up hope for you.
  22. Pretty sure you don't need to do anything else after it's been activated properly in DAO. I hope they get another "registered game promotions" site up for ME2 soonish, so people'll see what they have...
