Got some hours into Uncharted 3. It's the best-looking game I've played, but it's so amazingly on rails in every conceivable way it's almost painful.

Having a somewhat "casual Monday"... wind up in the elevator with the chairman and another board member. Classic. (Our board being fully "outside" and consisting of CEOs of the several major conglomerates that form our membership)

http://www.prioritypass.com/ Thanks, good site. I was close to buying a day pass, but by all accounts, and from what little I saw, the lounges in Pudong are just as useless as the rest of the terminal. Might consider a membership in this, though, as it looks like I'll be on at least a couple of globe-hopping flights a year. Now in Paris, looked around La Defense area a bit, ate mucho bread, time to shake off the jetlag with a power sleep. I got mine along with my credit card, so you might want to look at those options, as well. Personally probably save the yearly price in just not having to pay for hideously overpriced snacks. :D

I get that too. I mean, the same bug, not in everyday life.

I show enough initiative in my own work, I don't have to show it in others'. Which is why I'm no longer working on said event.

Why am I dealing with a PR crisis when we have a department for it? Edit: Should've whined earlier, my boss took it off my hands. Back to facebook.

Probably something left over from the forum software change?

The Internet has got a lot of growing up to do

I think it's fair to say that it was about that, but had mostly stopped being about it when I entered the discussion. -

It's funny... I've lived in Greece a couple of stretches in my life, the last one being from around 2000 to 2004 (well, one of my parents was living there, so I visited often and stayed for longer than "tourist" periods, also learning the language). When I first flew in there after quite a few years, in 2000, I took off from the country in the world with the most mobile phones per capita. I had a layover in Austria, where I was treated as almost royalty, being a skinny 19 year old with a new Nokia cell phone. Then I landed in Athens, where every hairy-armed taxi driver etc. had a cell phone. Points being, Greece did some considerable boot-strapping in the 90s and 00s. Unfortunately they spent it exactly on becoming a developed country, instead of taking the slower way and investing into things that would have made the development sustainable. Essentially the whole middle class consisted of people who worked for the government. And the other one is that picking random statistics like internet penetration is going to **** your results, when you start assuming that Greece is more developed than Austria because they have higher cell phone penetration. -
+ The first 15 levels is a lot less than it sounds, probably something even I could put together in a day, or two at the most.

It's mostly been Morgoth fapping over the latest newly announced interactive movies. Also, I thought you meant La femme Nikita, googled and facepalmed. Considering it's the millionth spin-off, it's surprisingly good. In fact, along with Fringe, it's the only us network show I have any interest in now that Chuck's over. But yes, that ubisoft thing looks interesting, but everything else... not much going on. I expected to be deluged by info from the mainstream press, but even that's pretty quickly seen.

Since I was busy yesterday (... watching the first season of Nikita... I'm halfway through and I can't decide which I like watching more, Maggie Q or Lyndsy Fonseca), did anything interesting actually happen? Infinity engine mentioned? Also, EA/Bioware was a bit more "lower your shields and prepare to be assimilated". Interesting we have 2 rushed games to give the conspiracy cartoonists fodder for the other theory.

Why do they even bother calling it "Tomb Raider"??? Currently installing the TR 1+2+3 package from GOG. Probably the best one can hope for in a foreseeable future. So, to appeal to the PC (politically correct, in this instance) crowd, they toned down the overt sexuality and upped the torture porn aspect? WTG. Also, can't remember the last E3 when there was absolutely nothing I was looking forward to learning more about.

Picked up Uncharted 3, so gonna be playing that after I manage to juggle the first season of Nikita, French Open and work into a gaming opening.

I did that once. Now the rule is "no vegans and no activists, co-workers only if they are absolutely, ridiculously perfect and I'm on a fixed term contract, anyway". ;P Of course, you guys know what that invariably means. I have a horde of vegans, activists and less-than-perfect co-workers stalking me.

I've consumed disturbing amounts of soda over the past 6-7 years (basically grad school and court internship)... It's been of the diet variety, which might have saved me from kidney stones but probably from little else. Currently happily sipping on some water, trying to slowly redirect myself that way now that the hell is pretty much over. Which is what I should have posted a week ago; "I sent my dissertation off to the publisher."

And those were the two parts they either outsourced or ran out of time doing themselves. The team has great promise.

One of the first things you learn when studying law is that law is always going to be behind the curve. A constitution, depending on how difficult it is to amend, more so almost by definition.

Ok, I give up, that is pretty awesome. Totally tasteless, but awesome.

That just means they were negligent - they forgot to handcuff him before they shot him. -
Tsunami Arms Helix better be in it. Still, the best news in, well, ever.

The way you guys run discourse analysis on linkedin profiles would make any feminist proud. -
Yeah, and the reason I always read original versions is that the translations suck.
