i would, without a doubt, say that left 4 dead is the single LEAST boring game I have EVER played. full stop. That said, i cant imagine liking it if i didnt have a team of really awesome friends to play with. That's the thing, the game itself is just... boring, lame. Sure, you could add friends, but then that means the friends are what make the game fun, not the game itself. no way, its the heart-pounding, adrenaline flowing vs matches. the ones where the score is going back and forth and everytime you hear a boomer or hunter the whole team tightens up and your senses are on overdrive trying to cover as much ground as possible while checking every corner to prevent ambush... or when you've got the other team on the ropes, one of them is incapped on the ground and youve got two hunters still up and a boomer about to spawn in 5 seconds... AGHHH just thinking about it gets my blood pumping like crazy. nothing so exhilerating as beating a team thats maybe just a little better than yours but you've coordinated and executed a perfect attack and got a little random luck thrown in there too still though, its a competitive team based game, if you dont have one then you arent really playing the same game

my pc is a fighter. morrigan doesnt do much damage, all i use her for is cone of cold, force prison, sleep, heal, and crushing prison. (she also sustains telekinetic weapons. i have no idea if this helps me, i just do it because it seems cool) she keeps the mobs from doing anything offensive while my 3 melee characters just mop up. it takes about 3 seconds for my melee characters to kill an enemy, so if morrigan can keep the mobs tied up for 30 seconds or so, then thats ten dead enemies.

i've found alistair to be the biggest gift whore, he gives big points for just about anything i give him morrigan i find hard to please with gifts. weird.

my rogue character does the least amount of damage in my group: pc 40% alistair 19% morrigan 19% leliana17% however she's the only one who opens locks and disarms traps which more than makes up for her 2% difference in damage output.

i actually like all the characters except zevran. it's the opposite of mass effect where i disliked all the characters but one

if you can avoid hitting your own party with it im pretty terrible with friendly fire...

@ tigranes: sounds like a bug to me. i assume you tried reloading an earlier save and/or rebooting game/computer

its hard to imagine people were anticipating dragon age at the same time as GTA San Andreas, that game came out a lifeage ago it feels like

is cone of cold really that good or did everyone just take it because morrigan already had the first two in the ice line so people havent experimented enough with the other tier 3 spells?

what order did everyone do the major quests in? im doing (based on alanschu's quasi-advice) circle, redtown, denerim-urn, forest, orzammar what did all of you do and would you change the order on your next playthrough?

yeah its not a complaint about the combat or tactics, its a complaint about the manual being incomplete and leaving out important info

apparently this mod already exists, just google "dragon age respec mod", i found one right away but i havent tried it yet.
