  1. I had a good laugh when I fast-travelled to Dead Wind Cavern for Red Lucy's final hunting quest. My party was surrounded by 3 Deathclaws and a couple of young ones upon arrival. Then later upon exiting the cave after clearing it out, I again literally bumped into two deathclaws.
  2. My character was level 30 when she finally entered the Strip, and had covered 99% of in-game locations, not to mention become Idolized with all factions save the Powder Rangers and the Legion. Now finally following the main quest (though currently it seems to be come to a standstill with the bug I mentioned before, I'll try to use the console to re-input the platinum chip), I've been revisiting areas four times already, which gets very boring. It seems one is supposed to get to Vegas and the Strip as soon as possible, but with so many empty triangles around this is simply not possible for me. As it is now, I would've been content if the game had ended after nailing Benny, since I certainly had enough fun before that. After getting her revenge, I don't see why my Courier should care about the squabbles between the NCR, Legion and Mr House... beyond the fact that the Legion is very evil and would most probably use her as breeding cow until her death if they got their hands on her.
  3. Gives a whole new dimension to the "ED-E My Love" sidequest. *downloads*
  4. I believe it's the Wrecked Highwayman location.
  5. The only weapon that always crits is the alien blaster. 10 luck = 50% critical chance with sniper rifle or ratslayer. Note that Finesse perk corresponds with an increase of 5 in luck, raising it to 75%.
  6. So I killed Benny, gave the platinum chip to Mr House who used it to upgrade his securitrons; after this, I disabled House and let Yes Man install himself. Now I'm supposed to go to the Fort (like Mr House had instructed me before he was disabled)... but the problem is, Mr House never gave me the platinum chip back after I finished his first quest... and nor does Yes Man give it back, he just keeps on giving me print-outs. Am I missing something here?
  7. Don't bother entering Vault 19 without a high Explosives skill. I couldn't finish the quest how I wanted and ended up helping the Powder gangers. I killed some NCR Veteran rangers for their armour, and though it certainly looks nice enough, it's just too heavy for my playstyle.
  8. My game has been crashing to desktop much more frequently, with the error message in nvlddmkm or something like that. I assume it's a driver related problem, though I do not have any problems with other games.
  9. I guess .45-70 is pretty rare because only veteran rangers carry weapons that use this ammo type (hunting revolver, brush gun). Which is a pity, since the Ranger Sequoia is the best revolver in the game and can be obtained pretty quickly. There's the console, though..
  10. Nobody seemed to mind that I surrounded him and his guard with 20 C-4 Explosives. Then I found myself a nice, quiet place and used the detonator.
  11. That's not an alien, it's the Corpse Bride with a bit more meat on her bones.
  12. It's not like you need any money, anyway, unless you want to buy the awesome Anti-Materiel Rifle (although a regular Sniper rifle + Psycho one-shots everything outside of the Legendary deathclaw) and get all implants. There's powerful weapons & armour all over the place, and even easier to find than in FO3. Only stuff I bought was some harder to find ammo for my companions.
  13. I bought one chip in each casino, played blackjack for 5 minutes, then used my newly garnered 1,000 chips on the slots and after two minutes I got either 3 grapes or 3 oranges. Ka-ching! I'm awaiting a No Casino Ban mod, in fact.
  14. I'm level 30 and still haven't encountered one of those veteran rangers with their fancy armour yet. I also encountered the female Elf voice from Oblivion a couple of times already (Dazzle, Lacey); which is weird, since I don't remember her (conspicuous) voice being present in FO3.
  15. I really enjoyed the [black Widow] route to nail Benny (literally and figuratively). The dialogue also seemed to fit my character's 2 INT perfectly.
  16. Does Boone have the Sniper, Better Criticals & Commando perks or something? Compared to him, Cass doesn't kick so much ass with a rifle, even with This Machine more often than not she needs quite a few shots to kill things. I'm also suspecting Cass has the Cowboy/Gunslinger perk, since with a Hunting revolver or .44 magnum she seems to be way more effective.
  17. One can't be too picky. Though unfortunately a threesome with Fisto was not possible.
  18. Does the game ever explain the arcane messages to the "Sixth Courier" spread across the Wasteland, not to mention why the courier in Primm that was originally going to do the job, freaked out and cancelled the job when he noticed the main character's name on the list? I was expecting some plot twist, but it's just not coming.
  19. Maybe it's because I'm not a native English speaker myself, but I saw nothing wrong with that piece.
  20. So was Vault 11 supposed to have a grand revelation? I found the thingamajig for the BoS, but got so annoyed with the companion AI that suddenly went berserk as soon as I had entered the Vault, not to mention not being able to find a way through the Vault's labyrinthine depths due to the horrible PipBOY map, that I left. I swear the stupid PipBOY wanted to me to clip through a wall to reach a corridor.
  21. I'm greatly disappointed by Wayne Newton in the game. He doesn't even reach Three Dog's heels. But in general, the radio in NV is sorely lacking. Enclave Radio never got old for me in FO3, and it even made sense that Eden's propaganda & "America the Beautiful" were on an endless loop. Same goes for Agatha's station.
  22. Personally I find the Denerim parts before the Archdemon way worse than the Fade or the Deep Roads. Also, Howe's estate. I savoured the very few parts of the game where I could skip combat, especially that part where it involved selling Elves into slavery.
  23. Best ME2 ending is where Shepard and only Zaeed survive. That way it fits with his old war stories where he always comes out as sole survivor.
  24. Wait, what? Who was she in ME2?
  25. Reinforced leather armour looks alright, combined with sunglasses & first recon beret.
