  1. I mean, if the game would play 1:1 like the original Mafia 1, then I'm most certainly not going to touch it. Like, Mafia 1 was really cool, but I still remember the horrible checkpoint system and balance issues and how often you had to replay chapters, and all the long driving you had to do in *every* mission ... There are quite a few areas that would profit from improvements.
  2. The city looks great, though. Not going to pre-order, but right now I'm pretty sure to check it out at some point.
  3. Man, I had the hots for Damsel back in the days. But seeing this face now ....
  4. I don't like either, but especially that this thing is vertical and not horizontal.
  5. Problem is that the game has changed quite a lot since the campaign was made. Occasionally BI is fixing these issues, but many of these issues aren't exactly easy to fix. Later campaigns are much less error prone.
  6. Tell me about it. I finished the Ant missions + Allied missions from Counterstrike in 2 days. I'm now doing the Allied Aftermath missions. I never realized before that some of the new units in Aftermath were also in Counterstrike - just not with custom graphics. The nuclear bomb trucks are there and if you destroy them, they drop a crate - picking up the crate will spawn a nuclear explosion. Also the tesla tanks already exist, they just use the shadow generator vehicle graphics. I'm guessing Westwood liked the idea so much, they put them into the game as "official" units.
  7. Haha yeah, exactly that. The worst is - half the missions so far don't even require you to destroy all enemy units ... but of course they don't tell you that. What infuriates me is how easily the infantry dies. And NOD is spamming flamers like crazy... they even wreck your vehicles fast. It reminds me of why I always did tank-spam back in the days. In a way, mixing units is way more important in TD than in RA where all you do is just to throw the heaviest tanks you have at the enemy. Nevertheless, I still love these games so much. And the updated graphics are very faithful too - after just a few minutes I don't even realize anymore that this isn't the pixelated original. Sometimes I also just hit the space bar just to get back to the old. It's great they added this feature in. /Edit: I've started playing the Covert Ops missions. I actually never had the addon for TD, so this is a 100% first for me. Turns out these missions are A LOT more enjoyable. Guess they learned from their mistakes from before.
  8. I forgot how much harder Tiberian Dawn is compared to Red Alert. Sitting on the GDI campaign today, I'm in mission 13 or 14 and it's frustratingly hard at times. I'd actually say it is very unfair most of the time, due to cheating ai and weird / bad mission design. Bit of a shame, because I kinda like the setting of TD more than that of RA, but RA pretty much improved every area of the first game. I mean ... hell, you even have to micro-manage the repair bay in TD. The "mark x units, click repair bay, wait for everything to be done"-thing was added with RA and doesn't work in TD ... (IMO this is something they really could have brought into the game with the remaster) and that's just one example.
  9. It doesn't have an additional launcher.
  10. The problem with FFXIV is that A Realm Reborn is for the most part EXTREMELY BORING. It's a 110% fetch-quest galore and the developers have no shame to send you over the whole worldmap time and time again. Sometimes they send you to a far away place to talk with a character (3 lines of dialog) and then you are to move back from where you came. Horrible. However, once you are past this terrible slog, the game becomes a lot more fun. The post-ARR story quests suddenly become good, the story becomes interesting, and there is much less fetch-quest stuff. This continues into the first expansion, which looks and feels a lot better already. Can't say how it continues after that, because I just finished it myself and will head into expansion #2 next up. As far as I've read, though, it keeps improving and getting better. So yeah, the biggest issue of the game is that you first have to get through the initial slog, which sadly are quite a few hours of content...
  11. If you have trouble seeing enemy soldiers, you can enable a visual help in the difficulty settings. I used it all the time in A2, but in A3 I didn't need it anymore.
  12. Just watched the first 30 seconds and read the title, but didn't Bethesda do exactly the same.
  13. Oh please, Trump can't survive 3 hours without twitter.
  14. I thought the Pursuer was kinda easy. You can always dodge him to the right on his attack. If I remember right, my trick was to dodge forward, past him. This way you get out of his reach faster and more secure.
  15. Story twist: This dam explosion terrorist was a game designer on Fallout New Vegas, who was researching and collecting reference material.
  16. I feel like it has lost a lot steam. I'm kinda forcing myself through s3 now, because it is the last one... but so far s1 was the best, parts of s2 were good too, but it noticeably went down.
  17. What are we now, a bunch of MMO players? I'm still in FFXIV - it's horribly addictive. Probably going to spend some money on it soonish, because I'm about to hit level 35, which is as far as you can go in the free version. What I like about the game is that you can ignore ALL side quests. There is no reason to do them to grind experience for levelups, etc. You can just follow the main story and it'll be enough. It's still kinda fetch-questy and sometimes the game is seriously sending you from left to right, but at least you don't have to grind like in other MMOs.
  18. Started watching Devilman Crybaby on Netflix. I'm just like wtf half the time.
  19. Heh, I started playing Final Fantasy XIV yesterday (the free thing). Just wanted to check it out, because boredom, but now I'm kinda starting to dig it. Main issue right now are all the fetch quests, though. Kill this, kill that, walk here, walk there,... However, the main quest seems interesting, so I've decided to follow it some more and ignore all the boring filler.
  20. I just remembered that one scene in the first or second episode. Picard was standing in his room, but the camera didn't look at him, it was pointing at his old timey wooden clock and you'd see Picard's reflection in it. To me, this particular scene is the show boiled down. This scene made no damn sense, there was no reason for it to be there, it tried to look artsy but failed, and it was just uncomfortably long. Oh, and what about all these lens flares?! There is no light source in front of the camera!! Why is there a lens flare right now?? WHY IS IT EVERYWHERE.
  21. Then you're the only one around here who likes it.
  22. I've read that people in america are now killing regular bees, because they think they are "murder Hornets".
  23. God damnit, I never even realized that, and I only play Malkavian when I replay it. Guess it's because I never really liked the outfits, so I never bothered with them at all. /Edit: Or because I always play female vampires, because... reasons.
  24. Problem with Alien: Isolation is that it needed to be shorter. 3 times I thought I'm in the endgame now and the game will end soon, but it always kept going and going and going. Would have been better if they had cut some stuff from the middle. Feels like a lot of the android parts were only added so players can shoot with guns for a while.
  25. Dunno if they are clueless. Watched the video and to me it looks like they (police) wanted this to happen. Ofc they didn't want to be recorded, though.
