  1. My problem with the X games is that they are such a huge timesink. Played lots of X3 back in the days, but it took so long to build up something big. Just don't have the time for that anymore nowadays.
  2. Haven't seen it. Maybe I'll check it out in the coming days. Last one I saw was that movie with the Thor guy. It had some nice looking scenes, but at the end of the day was still predictable and boring.
  3. Sie is the best part of AP. /Edit: But I never liked the name due to the similarity with Sis.
  4. Alpha Protocol was a narrative mess.
  5. They probably just think of a cool setting, and everything else comes later... which then shows. Honestly, right now I can't even remember the last good Netflix movie I have seen. I don't even want to start watching any nowadays, because I feel like they will just bore me to death anyway. In other news, I'm really craving for The Dark Crystal season 2, but nobody is talking about it anymore. It's already one year since season 1 release ...
  6. I guess this has to do with the games delay? Honestly, I'm really not hyped for the game now. Looks like a miracle has to happen for me to check it out on release.
  7. It probably goes past most peoples head. Truth told, I'm also quite unhappy about the 30% cut that they take off of everything. However, Steam also takes 30% - they really aren't any better and nobody is fighting them or is able to really fight them. What's the current market situation with EG anyways? Obviously they try to get people to use their software with all the free games they constantly release... but is it working?
  8. Like, a Tesla Tower? /Edit: Yeah, they even mention that in the article.
  9. "Exploration" in Witcher 3 was just so boring. Also I don't remember anything from the environment, because my eyes were constantly glued to the dotted line on the minimap. Don't know what exactly it was, but somehow the game really didn't click with me very well.
  10. Did someone try to build such a ship, for science? So far I've read various comments about it going from "it would be too heavy because of all the wood"(??) to "it can only float on rivers" and then "it can totally traverse the oceans". However, some said the design would start rotating around itself when on the open water, etc. etc. Seems either nobody is 100% sure if this works, or there are too many experts on the internet. /edit: Another point would be if the ship was really as big as depicted in the model, or if they just made it a little bigger for whatever reason.
  11. Played it for 20 minutes. Absolute garbage. Game starts with you climbing a wall... which is on-screen hotkeys which you have to press to progress. Probably would have been better to just make this a cutscene .... Combat is boring. You "stun" enemies, then execute them. Same animations over and over. Attacking feels like you hit the air ... it's just not satisfying. Map design was lame as (w)hell. It's not scary at all. It's just lots of gore. Especially wieners are around every corner. Punched a pregnant woman, then grabbed inside from down below and pulled out a baby. Honestly, this is all just for shock value and so people talk about it ... gameplay-wise it is not interesting at all and doesn't look good either. tl;dr - They try to get you with curiosity and shock value, but the game itself looks garbage. Don't spend money on it.
  12. I'm downloading the Prologue now, which is free. Let's see what happens.
  13. Pretty sure this is mostly chinese propaganda and / or wishful thinking. If ships like that would really work and be economical, we would have seen them everywhere.
  14. Steam machines flopped years ago. Will be interesting to see if the VR headset will go away as well in the sooner future. Would be interesting to know how well Alyx was selling.
  15. Wow, I almost bought AssCreed Origins last week, but felt bad about the still 60 bucks price tag ... and today I see that it was reduced by 80% ... I would have been seriously pissed if I bought it last week.
  16. No surprise about lack of PoE3, and no surprise about 1st person PoE. We heard talk about it ("Feargus would like to do that") for a while now. My personal opinion: Even if it plays like Skyrim, it won't get the same success unless they make it possible to create mods this time. Nobody is talking about their last game anymore ... heck, I even forget the name, and IMO big part in that is lack of any mods.
  17. Motorcycles in the remake? SOLD.
  18. Well, and now the video is no more.
  19. Well, I liked the game very much and wouldn't mind replaying it again.
  20. The YT comments are gold already.
  21. I never bothered with that dragon. Was it at least worth the effort?
  22. The trailer of that Lower Decks makes it feel exactly like Final Space. I guess it'll be the same / almost the same thing.
  23. So I finally finished The Last of Us 2. Generic tl;dr: Not a bad game. Probably as good as the first one, maybe a little bit better. Game offers some more freedom due to the map design. In the first game you were constantly following a "straight line" while in the second everything is split into smaller arena-type maps, which you can freely walk around in. However, it's still very much a linear game. What annoyed me a lot is how the gender / sex stuff is shoveled into the players face at all times - Ellie the lesbian, Abby the woman with the body of a man, later someone who is transgender, etc. Generally I really wouldn't have cared about this at all, but the way the game presents this to you is just... so bad. It's hard for me to put this in words. It just felt so extremely unrealistic how this post-apocalyptic world is super inclusive. Kinda weird that they missed out a hit at zombie genders... Anyways, some heavy spoilers below ... Other than that, boy the game is brutal. The gore is quite harsh, the camera isn't shy and will make you look right at it. I don't remember the first game having such a level of violence. There's more to say about the game, but it's late and I really have to hit the bed now ...
  24. Man, I totally forgot about Death Stranding. I didn't even finish the game yet. One day I just kinda stopped playing ... I think it was because they suddenly used a crowbar to add in shooter elements, which really felt unfitting + it frustrated me a lot in that boss fight, because all the hours before you never fired a gun, so never learned how to effectively use them.
  25. *not entirely true. This genre started with Commandos and that is pretty much a puzzle game (I always hated it when folks compared the game to Jagged Alliance, just because you command a group of soldiers). However, Desperados does indeed loosen the strings a bit and allows for more freedom in your approach. Commandos 2 and 3 went down the same road later.
