Well, game dev is oftentimes about iteration. The first version really rarely looks like the final release, so I'm not sure why folks make a big deal about how a game has changed over time.

Considering the "non-linear story" that ended up in the game, indeed the sandbox wasn't really necessary all that much. Still think the gameworld looks pretty nice and just riding / walking around randomly does have something for it as well in this game. I can understand them cutting the large-scale battles and stuff. Performance isn't exactly the best just now.. then imagine 10 times the amount of action going on. Just not feasible as is.

Personally I found DNF's DLC to be much more fun than the base game. There was a DLC for DNF??? I haven't heard anything about this game since its failed release.

That's one of the reasons I don't feel that motivated to work in the game biz. I'm a big fan of a secure workplace, and having to change every couple years for whatever reasons is clashing with that.

So, how bad is it? Truth told, all I've ever seen from this game have been these two or three cutscene fails.

Well, as Rosbjerg wrote, they only f up the games they work on themselves. Everything outside their studio like Dishonored and Wolfenstein or Fallout New Vegas is actually pretty good.

As a German, seeing this thing about video game violence in America is a pretty funny experience. So glad we're over it for 10 or so years now. :D

At a later point you can just loot these high priced armor parts and sell them. That's what I do. Doesn't make me rich, but I'm not poor either. Usually I'm hanging around the 5k coins mark. I rarely buy armor parts (because I'm good in gear now), and most of the repairs can be done with the kits. Everything else I still repair at merchants, which doesn't cost that much.

Tried to watch Homeland a couple years ago but stopped after season 1. It really didn't stick with me at all and I thought it was stupid.

Just finished the Life is Strange: Before the Storm bonus episode. It was ok. Pretty much what I expected. Really can't stand the voice of Max anymore, tho. The voice actor went way, way over board with the slow, sad edgyness, imo. Even in situations where it just wasn't appropriate to be *that* emotionally broken.
