I was wondering if someone who hadn't read the books would enjoy it more as a "it's just a surreal supernatural-western with neat imagery" movie or something. eg, hard to miss details that I don't know exist in the first place. But are you saying the movie wouldn't make any sense at all without foreknowledge? eg, sometimes a movie doesn't need to make a ton of sense to be entertaining on some level but it can go too far in that direction. I keep thinking about renting it just to "see" for myself but haven't mustered up the motivation yet. I recall trying to read the first book ages ago but never finished/got into it and haven't tried since. Dunno, it's just all this stuff like the magic doors, Maerlyn's Rainbow, why the people react to Roland the way they do, why exactly he is something special, why does Walter do what he does, etc. The movie is going on very fast, to fill in all this stuff, which might make it easy to miss details and then you wonder what the hell is even going on... and this is also the problem of the movie. It's just way too fast. Hell, this could have been three movies like Lord of the Rings, just to better give you a feeling of the world. FFS, at least make this a 3 hours movie and not 90 minutes... who the hell thought this was a good idea?? Still, I actually liked this movie and wouldn't mind some extended edition. Guess there won't ever be any, though, considering it completely bombed.

Just finished the Dark Tower movie. Thought it wasn't as terrible as people made it out to be. Except for the ending, which felt way too rushed (I guess that's kinda normal with these kind of movies nowadays), I actually liked it. I'd say it would have worked a lot better in tv show format, though. Also I'm not sure if people who don't know the books could understand anything at all. There's been so many tiny details and such that folks likely never even realize if they don't know the source material.

One guy fell on some wooden planks or something was falling down on him after I used one of them fancy knockout grenades. I thought, well.. sheeeeeet, and then went on with life.

They don't make necessarily bad games. What they make are bad role-playing games.

I find it hard to believe she did suicide because some folks on the internet wrote mean things about her for barely a day. I'm certainly not an expert on the matter, but I bet this kind of stuff needs way more time to build up.

To be honest, after what Star Trek has become by now, I don't mind him trying. I mean, how much worse and how far away from the source material can it potentially get by now?

Didn't liked Bosch in the first few episodes either, but he kept growing on me. Now I'm eagerly awaiting the next season. /edit: He probably brought Jazz to a hell of a lot people who otherwise wouldn't even have checked that genre out.

Huh, just checked some trailer of it. Seems quite interesting... which is interesting, considering it's a german tv show product, and they usually all suck a lot.

It's awesome. I still haven't bothered with Attila, because for some reason it's 100% unattractive to me. Maybe because I felt kinda ripped off when it was announced, as I feel like the features it provided could have been in a new Rome 2 expansion or something. I dunno.. in any case, I'm happy there is more Rome 2 DLC and I sure as hell won't mind if there will be even more.

Holy ****, they have released a new Total War: Rome 2 DLC! Bought it on the go, no questions asked. Wonder what was driving them to this decision.

I actually enjoyed ME3 until the ending happened. Does it make much sense? Nope. Is it a great RPG? Nope. Still, had fun with it.

They didn't need to provide any clues. I knew they would turn on me at some point the very moment I first met them. Their faces just say it all.

But how many of them came out in the past few years? Battletech was pretty much dead until the mediocre MWO arrived.

Yes, this was the worst part of the game. The DLCs and D2 are pretty good tho. I do not regret playing them all.

Looks interesting, but also kinda bad. Is there any approximated release date yet? That video looks to me as if they need *at least* another full year. Lack of details (everything around the buildings was completely empty), weak ai, trash mobs having weird movement and clipping into the environment, etc. There's still a lot to do here.

Considering the amount of stress and moneysink a child is, one could argue you are the winner.

I couldn't find anything good when browsing the Steam Store already years ago. Gave up on it pretty quickly and solely rely on word of mouth when it comes to buying on Steam. Stuff like Rimworld, etc. I mean.

Ain't even december yet and radio stations are playing christmas songs already. :/
