  1. Now I am even more confused. Satsuma and Choshu were apparently anti-western, but it doesn't look like that in the game. There even was that one pro-emperor faction that starts out with western trade routes. So I pretty much played the campaign wrong, because I've constantly developed pro-western. :D Now that might explain why my people were so pissy all the time. /edit: Ok, it seems they wanted to use western technology to drive out westerners from Japan. Still quite hypocritical, imo.
  2. Its a very easy game, but fun too. There was a lot of grousing over lack of unit variety, but combat AI is so pitiful anyhow it can't utilize variety. AI felt pretty normal for a Total War game. :D What causes me most trouble now is the constant harassment over endless rebels and enemy spy attacks. So annoying. Anyway, as someone who has exactly zero knowledge of Japanese history, I felt a bit confused... So apparently this is what happened: Civil war, Shogun rises, 200 years of lockdown and more or less peace. Then westerners arrive and force Japan to open up. The Shogun agrees... but now some people are pissed and want to remove the Shogun to get the Emperor back... and they do so with allying to the westerners??? Do they realize the irony in this or did I misunderstood something?
  3. Played some Total War - Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai yesterday. It's quite fun actually, but I finished the main campaign objective in 6 hours and I've never played Shogun (2) before.
  4. For me, Honest Hearts is still the best DLC, despite the plenty flaws. I'd probably put Lonesome Road as second, even though it's the one I've only finished twice or so.
  5. The struggle of priorities.
  6. I use the energy ax to grind through the enemies in Old World Blues. It always felt more effective than any gun, especially against the robots.
  7. The problem isn't "working to improve their characters". It's the unreasonable amount of time you have to spend on it. It's boring and tedious on purpose, to make you spend real money and skip this crap.
  8. Sapkowski doesn't give a **** about any this stuff if the money is right. I remember he only raged about the Witcher games, because he screwed himself over with selling the licenses for comparably little money to CD Project back when nobody cared. He probably assumed the games wouldn't lead to anywhere important.
  9. I guess that's why america needs war so much. Nothing else keeps it together as much as a common enemy.
  10. @finally: Unless you have no family or friends, then nobody will care, except maybe the person who has to clean up your mess. :>
  11. Yes, the only thing that sounded great about nu-Tremors of course had to be canned.
  12. This trailer drives me crazy. In one scene she has that eyepatch, in the next scene she doesn't. Flip, flop, flip, flop.
  13. Everyone knows Anne Frank was actually black. Everything else is just history revisionism.
  14. "That call is still going out, so we don’t know who’s playing her, but we do have two pertinent details on what the folks behind the series are looking for. More specifically, they want Ciri to be young, and they want her to not be white." lololololol. Why do these people have to ruin everything? It's just unbelievable. All the books, all the games, yet Ciri has to be not white. Madness.
  15. Yeah, Mads Mikkelsen would have been the jackpot. I wonder if he tried to get the role and just didn't made it.
  16. I vaguely recall reading this somewhere before too but I don't remember the source Though I remember it slightly different in that all women tended to prefer their own race I've seen screenshots of these statistics a couple times already, but never a "real" source.
  17. Why would this be the end of EVE?
  18. Did they really fixed bugs? I don't remember if anything happened at all after release. Loved the game, replayed it at least 7 times after release. It was great how you could do a "veteran run" in which you are able to do things you usually can't do (rescue both people instead of only one, etc). I was so pissed about the american reviews that trashed the game so hard. Really, europeans loved it, americans hated it. Oh god, and I wanted to flip tables when one year later, reviewers who completely trashed the game at release suddenly said "wait, actually this game isn't so bad at all!" These people are the fault for why we can't have anything good anymore, and then this... Seriously, gaming journalism died for me in this very moment. Haven't read a single game review ever since.
  19. Yeah, looks pretty nice, but the strong focus on minigames in the trailer was a bit off putting for me.
  20. Don't know, I only play few AAA games. But for Alpha Protocol it's a fact. The game needs overhauled minigames, it needs better animations, movement / controls, another balance pass and I guess a boatload of fixes. Really, graphics is one of the lesser important issues.
  21. A "Remaster" wouldn't be enough. This game needs at least one more year of development time.
  22. Today was my last day of vacation... I got very used to not working. Ugh, how will I cope with this change in my life.
  23. Finished Jack Ryan yesterday. It's not bad... but has some facepalming moments. Would watch a season 2, though.
  24. It's probably a bit heresy, but I kinda like the old tv show. It's super trashy, but still I cannot not connect it to the old books. /Edit: And now I want to read the first two books again.
  25. "You WOULDN'T BELIEVE what happens if you drop dung somewhere!" This video is horrible clickbait cancer.
