Gameplay looks like ****, but for some odd reason the trailer direction appeals to me.

Might & Magic X Teased by Ubisoft, To Be Revealed at PAX East
Undecaf replied to Infinitron's topic in Computer and Console
It's the same developer as Heroes VI. That's why I'm skeptical. Wasn't Heroes VI developed by Black Hole? I think Limbic only did some DLC for it... or do I misrecall? -
Never heard of that Rothfuss guy. Is his writing any good?

That's.... thoroughly unexpected news. Turnbased and all? It might even be good. -
Divinity 2 (developers cut from GoG). Can't say the game "wow's" me with its peculiar, kind of "It's dusty; I found from behind the bookshelf where it has lied forgotten for a loooong time" feel (which is somewhat odd since I don't get that kind of feel from some much older games), but there's something oddly charming about it so far (granted though, I'm not very far yet).

Sounds fairly interesting. I'll wait for a couple of updates to see the big picture better and then decide whether I eat my words about not participating on KS for a while or not.

Might & Magic X Teased by Ubisoft, To Be Revealed at PAX East

Regardless of who the dev is (Obsidian would be nice), I'd like the game to be reminiscent of MM6 than anything else -- which, of course, is way too wishful thinking... -
Might&Magic X teased by Ubisoft, info coming at PAX east. Wasn't Obsidian at talks with Ubi about somehting at some point? Nah, it probably isn't this, although...

...and made with the Onyx engine with isometric perspective and turnbased combat. Wouldn't that be a blast.... That would be the true ideal, but it's not realistically likely to happen. Bethesda being Bethesda and all. Unless they jump on the transaction-based model and put out a smartphone/tablet Fallout game. Which wouldn't be a step in the right direction. But Bethesda is stuck in their ways, they're still comfortable clinging to Todd's precious, precious Xbox. Yeah, it's not likely to happen. Although, they could (potentially) try to "exploit" the interest in these kinds of games risen by Kickstarter (and the success of XCOM:EU) by a smaller (AA, or however these budget ratings go) title. I wouldn't say no to that (relative to the games quality, of course) even if it would be a blatant cashgrab.

To those interested, you can donwload the Steel Panthers World at War from here (the first post). I'll say, I have never had more fun with a WW2 startegy game. E - gave the link....

I sometimes wondered whether my dad was the only person on the planet who played Steel Panther games. He'll be glad to know he's not the only one out there. Are you kidding me, it is still the one and only TBS, the king of the hill, I know of a bag full of people who played and loved it. Your dad? How are you? Did you like it, if you played it? In this age of TB making a return, are there really no more people that recognize it?

I have put 499 bucks for KS and am recieving 4 games, all made with shoelace budgets (relative to the current mass market products). I think that's enough for an average working class guy. So I won't be backing anymore games until at least 1 ships. Unless of course it's Gary Grisby kickstarting a new Steel Panthers game...

nevermind... Must stop drinking, too many misreads....

Oh, I'm not going for the CE. I'll buy the deluxe edition game at release (35), unless I get around my principles and preorder it, and the DLC later - if I deem it worth it - at what ever price which won't be the same as the core game retail price. It won't bankrupt me. And on that note, I hate the whole concept of DLC, but I'm willing make few exceptions with titles I really, really like (which TSRR seems like right now). Whoopsie... didn't see that "babaganooshie13" quote there for some reason. My bad. I thought the response sounded a bit weird...

I hope CDPR does not trip in the (potential) bull**** with their hype and delivers a game that is actually entertaining, and - as a sandbox - doesn't fall in the ultimate repetitive boredom trap as Bethesda games.
-
I totally understand. I already regret paying on a different KS but this one has me pretty excited. I wish they offered a tier that was the main game and DLC only instead of having to jump up to the CE to get the DLC. I'm pretty stoked too. This was a very surprising turn of events as I wasn't originally interested enough to even pledge, but I'll, now, happily provide them a bit more revenue from buying the DLC (and the game itself, of course) separately if it means more stuff that looks (and hopefully feels) this good.
-
Yeah, not my thing; I hope it fails. Seriously, though. Good luck to Mr. Garriott. I hoped for something quite different, but I'll be happily busy with WL2, Shadowrun Returns, P:E, Dead State and Torment for the next couple of years and most likely not pour any more money on the KS format for some time anymore.
-
Its not too late: You can still get in on Shadowrun even though the KS is over? Link please. I should have backed this from the beginning. Here you go. Yeah, I'm considering it. I'm generally not in favor of preorders though (old fashioned, pay and recieve at the spot).

It's somewhat relative, though. All these games are made with shoelace budget in comparison to most of the the "publisher titles". One could - optimistically, and in case it turns out to be popular and profitable relative to its budget - think "What if Wasteland 2 had ten or even fifteen fold the budget it had and how would that have affected it?" I agree with you, though, it is probably for the better to keep the niche a niche for the reasons you gave.
-
Indeed it does. Way, way better than what expected it to.
-
That looks so ***ing amazing. I'm pissed for missing out its kickstarter. Day 1 purchase for sure.
-
Reading the Codex, Brother None mentioned they are working on more tiers (might take some time, though). The pace this went over was a bit faster than anticipated.
