What you did today
"But that's just how it is, because one man is always the dead - and two million is always just a statistic." Not looking forward to my dogs dying, I avoided my childhood pets dying while I was out of country - we left them with my grandparents. Which is bad in a way, is not a bad thing to experience that and learn to cope from it. Does make me remember to walk them more and play with them more - I suppose most sadness at death is due to regret of how time was spent or some selfish desire to have them around.

What are you playing now?
Mount and Blade, probably will restart as my game has devolved into some 40k-esque stalemate where I am a Queen of a nation at war with everyone, all my lords despise me as I beat the crap out of them when in service to the Vaegir. So it's mainly running around trying to put out fires or engaging in drawn out sieges where I chip away at the boulder. Did have a fun siege where I alone went to the walls and made the troops look at me and my archers shot all of them in the back.

Always preferred dogs myself, grew up with them a lot. Right now though, they're fun to play with and loyal. I spend enough time serving ungrateful scumbags at work

Sorting through my ipod, rather amused to find I have 9 versions of Guerilla Radio, too many live ones, I guess.

Well, also have ISOs, if you're concerned about the physical media degrading and you have some issue with an optical drive. In that case not sure the "format" is all that different. Hm, thinking on it, not sure I've even tried making one of a game with SecurROM or Starforce or what have you, might not be possible.

Well, they're useless as you've just let them be and it's not impossible or even difficult to have a system that runs them these days - XP ran a lot of my old favourites pretty smoothly with a minimum of tweaking. But there's always GOG for older releases, even if it is funny to have to buy a game again to play it.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
http://www.pcgamer.com/report-games-with-securom-and-safedisc-drm-wont-run-under-windows-10/ "Everything that ran in Windows 7 should also run in Windows 10. There are just two silly exceptions: antivirus software and stuff that’s deeply embedded into the system needs updating—but the developers are on it already—and then there are old games on CD-Rom that have DRM. This DRM stuff is also deeply embedded in your system, and that’s where Windows 10 says, 'Sorry, we cannot allow that, because that would be a possible loophole for computer viruses.' That’s why there are a couple of games from 2003-2008 with Securom, etc. that simply don’t run without a no-CD patch or some such.""

Movies you've seen recently
Finally saw Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut (go go Youtube), is much better than the theater release. Heh, did notice that the English sergeant's actor is the same one who voices Soap in COD.

What are you playing now?
Getting back into EVE, planning to make a foray into null-sec and end up being ganked by some alliance. Suppose I can also hit up W-space and make money of Sleepers there. Need to find a new corp too, friends all quit the game.

Just because that's the way I deal with approaching my mid-life crisis. Still, since I haven't actually posted in this thread in awhile, I suppose I should actually be somewhat serious. The cancer and continuing medical conditions finally hit their peak last week and my mother passed on in that grand journey. So it's been the running day by day juggling things with my father and sister to get everything sorted. Funeral plans and all the rest of that needed legal issues that result from bereavement. Now after having spent the last fifteen years as her carer, and having had that as a central piece of my life I have to re-figure who I am without that and where I'm going from here. Oh right, mid life crisis, I think I am due for that soon. Sorry to hear about your mother dying, can't be easy to go through but good luck in getting through it all.- Star Wars Episode 7 Thread
Nah, I am sure it'll get pirated before then.- What are you playing now?
Was rampaging around in GTA V, shame the game doesn't have some SoF style wounding system - blow off limbs, people die from exsanguination (that is such a nice word). Probably would murder the engine I guess. It is funny to notice the shortcuts the engine takes for the open world, particularly when streets go empty on a high building or when pedestrians vanish when they rush out of sight. - Crowdfunding Minas Tirith
