It's been that way for a while. It's not a bad idea, but I find inevitably the process becomes more important than what the process is meant to support.

People mostly want the budgets cut, not removed. 10-20% isn't going to result in anarchy, cop unions will stamp their feet and threaten that though.
Can you enlist neighbours to track down the people firing the fireworks ? Maybe say they sound like gunshots ?
They do retail for that price, mind you they are not barebones - $300 USD for wireless with noise cancelling, whereas you can get a "regular" one for $80 USD.

That is true, seems like less are still on board with it. I guess the overall air of incompetence is beginning to have an effect. With Bolton and Barr, sort of hoping Oliver North ends up in the administration, somehow.
I've liked it, I am just awful at it for some reason but have only played the single player campaign, where my time tested tactic is just being a hawk and using strike craft and bombers repeatdly.
