  1. Have you invested in a good pair of boots ?
  2. Maybe I will get the LE and replay it. Although, hopefully I can hack the ME2 save so I don't need to scan.
  3. Yah, Amazon. Act 3 already is pissing me off wandering through the jungle with my merc's pathing issues. Have a Valkyrie because...why not. Shelved D2 for a bit, am going back to wasting time in FM18. Whispers of a Machine does not play well with dual monitors or something, I see my cursor still and interestingly the game does not register at all on taskbar, so Alt-tabbing is out
  4. Yep, the scientist girl. His defense to Shepard was basically he couldn't wait 6 months without a chick. Not really sure if Bioware thought much on what they were doing there.
  5. ME2 felt too barebones. Also they gave us Jacob (yes, the black guy whose father abandons him and will cheat on FemShep and knock up his sidechick...) so that's further negatives.
  6. Favourite Metallica song. Oddly suitable for listening to at work.
  7. Then again, would there even be child support in the Federation ?
  8. And a hefty amount of overdue child support ?
  9. All we needed was some Quarian saying "me so horny".
  10. Tried attending some agile cult meeting, they wanted us to develop an Epic to extract a man from under a burning car.
  11. From his part in the documentary, no, but was talking about looting, destruction of property - which I guess is par for the course in warfare in 19th century (well ok, even now.) - so maybe was referencing Sherman. The documentary does have a certain bend to it, so I guess they would choose the dumbest things the guy says. The guy was celebrating "Confederate Heroes Day", so at least I learned that's still a thing.
  12. Yes, one guy said the South never invaded the North. Sort of curious how he thought stuff like Antietam or Gettysburg went down, to be honest. I barely know any Civil War history beyond stuff I skimmed Wikipedia over, but geez. You should ask for the names of his history teachers so you could go slap them
  13. Watched a documentary yesterday - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13622108/ the classroom scenes were interesting, cut off at an interesting part too. Wasn't anything too earth shattering, although their interviewing some Southerners talking about it being the "War of Northern Aggression" was funny, and moaning about Union war criminals. Seemed almost too on the nose, but there are people that deluded out there.
  14. Ah ok, stand corrected
  15. Looks like what I expected it to look like, slightly better I guess. Some people were expecting them in the GTA V engine for some reason, though.
  16. As Amentep said, fair assumption to say this was a POV shot and they were close in. Sounds like the usual situation when it comes to safety, over time it becomes - "It never happens".
  17. https://www.thestandard.com.hk/breaking-news/section/4/181833/Sleepy-Hong-Kong-residents-get-5-hour-"Sleeping-Bus-Tour" "The 76-kilometer, five-hour ride on a regular double-decker bus around the territory is meant to appeal to people who are easily lulled to sleep by long rides. It was inspired by the tendency of tired commuters to fall asleep on public transit."
  18. Playing D2 Nightmare a bit to keep up with my buddy, the Summoner was funny - not even a fight, wandered through that awful level forever and found him, poked him once with charged strike and he keeled over. Duriel was fun, he spent his time failing to kill my Valkyrie while I poked him to death.
  19. Well if it were debris in the barrel, could still injure multiple people with one shot, like a shotgun, no ?
  20. Our codebase has a lot of typos, odd as UK developers wrote it all. I added something, failed to compile only for me to realize the variable was not thisHierarchy but it was thisHirarchey
  21. Yah, On War. I still have it here somewhere, I keep it around to look sophisticated...to myself, I guess.
  22. Think the worst prose I had to deal with was Joyce and maybe Jack London's Sea Wolf. Hardest read was Clausewitz though.
  23. Fair enough. Just hope you don't like Joyce.
  24. That is in line with what I've heard (sifting through new Dune fans zealously gushing is annoying). That and it's empty, as if the world is just the relevant characters and no one else. Well, hopefully you found it boring for reasons other than "no action scenes". Still recall Herbert or Anderson faffing on about how the original books needed action - "they blew Arrakis and that was off screen". Pft.
